First, background info behind the coup, who is responsible, why, and how:

 * The US, Europe and many opposition parties in Ukraine did not like Yanukovich since he was pro-Russian and wasn't bowing down to western/European demands. My opinion: Because Russia was growing, their GDP increasing, economy stabilizing, the west saw this as a threat and needed to do something about this. Especially after Russia shut down the western sponsored Georgian conflict in a few days, and didn't allow the US to invade Syria by outing their lies. Since the west can't directly attack Russia, they engage in proxy wars, therefore starting this conflict in Ukraine.

 *  Anti-Yanukovych people started "maidan" (a big demonstration on "Maidan Nezalezhnosti" - a large square in downtown Kiev). No matter that there was an election coming up soon...

Then later the spetsnaz, who was being shot from this room nearly kills one of the reporters of RT since they thought he was a gunman. at 10:56 armed Maidaner runs back, while cameraman says &quot;watch out, they&#39;re going to start shooting at him&quot;. Meaning spetsnaz is only targeting the armed Maidaners. At 11:43 another Maidaner with a hunting rifle. At 12:20 Maidan coordinator says &quot;Send 400 people&quot; and spetsnaz retreats. As spetsnaz retreats, they suffer casualties from gunfire and grenades. At 15:00 commenter says that this is what probably happened in the evening, the opposition told the president that they armed Maidaners and unless the president wants more blood on his hands, to sign the agreement.
