+Terran Downvale __ Cheers and thanks - very much appreciated. I'd like to say I put in the typos to see if you are reading and paying attention but it's just my worthless keyboard.



I recall that incident you told me. I find the timing EXTREMELY suspect.



What's the bet that there are several of these "slow but steadily moving star objects" and when we see them the answer we are given is "it's the ISS".



I wonder whether on the same evening - all around the world - people are told "that's the ISS"! (From allegedly opposite sides of the globe!)



If only you can recall the date and time of when that happened you could check to see if it was visible.



(I might have to check their "ISS tracker" to verify it isn't doing anything impossible such as being visible at the same time on opposite sides of the allegedly round Earth.)



On that note - it would be worth asking people if they have had a similar experience to yours. Whether someone has pointed out the bright light and told _"oh that - that's the ISS!"_



If I ran an "astronomy night" I would know what is visible. *I'd even plan the evening around being able to see the alleged "ISS".*



Maybe the guy running the class actually thought it was the "ISS" (after all - it "must be"!).



IF he BELIEVES it's the "ISS" then it rubs off on you. You TRUST him (he is the "expert") and his own belief gives you confidence that he is correct.
