  1. a few days pass, though it's hard to tell without the passage of a sun to track
  2. eventually you are brought before the queen, Arlaymenlanile sits at her right hand, grinning gleefully
  3. "First order of buisiness, who freed your friends?"
  4. [G] - Today at 7:23 AM
  5. Stil gives the Queen a tired look. It has been days since the last time he saw them, and he's been focused in the trial itself, so the question catches him by surprise. "Ah. I apologize, but I can't tell you that. Am I not here to stand trial for myself? What they may or may have not done does not concern me. I guess they simply wanted to escape so much, they found a way to do it." He offers a smile, mostly out of courtesy. He doesn't want to come off as rude, even after being imprisoned.
  6. KawaiiSpider - Today at 7:27 AM
  7. "Your unwillingness to help will be taken into account. Now on to the main proceeding."
  8. Arlaymenlanile moves forward, "I accuse this mortal of murdering my husband, a well rescpected lord of the court, who will be missed for all eternity." She cries once more"
  9. The queen speak again. "Accused, what do you wish to say in your defense?"(edited)
  10. [G] - Today at 7:29 AM
  11. Stil's smile doesn't break when they mention his 'unwillingness to help', but he doesn't mind. They can't lie after all, right? It's only logical they would tell him facts straight. "To beginwith, may I ask what the punishment for being found guilty is? Will I be killed if Arlaymenlanile wins this trial?"
  12. KawaiiSpider - Today at 7:30 AM
  13. "Yes."
  14. "She will carry out the punishment herself."
  15. [G] - Today at 7:36 AM
  16. He nods. he was counting on it. "Alright. Well, the reason we killed Ovroso was because our desire to survive was much stronger than his and Arlaymenlanile's desire to kill us. One of my friends felt a strong desire to compliment her on her appearence, which prompted Ovroso to attack us. We only did what we wanted to, for we desired to survive. Seeing as how I'm still here presently, I would say that neitherArleymenlanile nor Ovroso's desire to kill us was strong enough" He makes a pause for a moment, before continuing. "Now, the reason I decided to stay, is because my desire to win this trial is several orders of magnitude stronger than my desire to survive. I have desired something like it my whole life, though the amount of time itself may seem insignificant to you, it is not to me. Now, like I have said, my desire to win this trial is much stronger than my desire to live on. And my desire to live on was already stronger than Arlaymenlanile's desire to kill me. Her desires haven't changed. She hasn't changed to embrace the situation. She still desires my death, and she still desires to kill me herself, even though her desire to do so was already overcome by my desire to survive. And, as I have mentioned, my new desire, the strong desire in my heart to win this trial, is much stronger than what I desired at the time."
  17. KawaiiSpider - Today at 7:38 AM
  18. "So you, a guest of the courts, a mortal, fully admit to the killing of a lord of the court?"
  19. [G] - Today at 7:40 AM
  20. "I admit to defending myself when I was attacked, and I admit that my desire to survive was stronger than his desire to kill us. We tried to solve things peacefully. Even though technically I did not land the killing blow, and thus did not kill him myself, I admit I participated in the fight."
  21. KawaiiSpider - Today at 7:43 AM
  22. "Who landed the killing bow is of no consequence, and a desire to survive does not redeem you of whatever you did to offend my friend Orvoso."
  23. [G] - Today at 7:45 AM
  24. "I did nothing to offend him. None of us did. One of my friends had a strong desire to compliment Arlaymenlanile's appearance, as, I'm sure you can understand it, us mortals aren't used to the fey's beauty. Ovroso tried to kill us for it. We simply acted on our desire to survive"
  25. KawaiiSpider - Today at 7:49 AM
  26. Arlaymenlanile smiles at this, though only you can see it. "Of course my love attacked you at this slight, my beauty is for him and him alone, he was well-"
  27. The queen cuts her off.
  28. "Not now.
  29. Though it saddens me to do so, I must uphold the laws of the court. Unless you have anything else so say that might stay my hand?"
  30. Labelas stands behind, look at you intently.
  31. [G] - Today at 7:57 AM
  32. Stil's smile drops for the first time. He takes nary a second to collect himself, and speaks up again "Well. I was told this court appreciated a being's strong desires and the willingness to adapt to the situation more than anything else, and that laws had been forlon in favor of change and the willingness to adapt. I could easily have escaped with my friends, at no cost to me. Instead, I decided to stay, given that I desired to win this trial more than anything else. My desires are so strong, I threw away a guaranteed chance of surviving, at no cost to myself, to stand here now, in your presence. I thought your court and its values would regard that much higher than a favor someone could call in because they are upset their desire to kill us wasn't strong enough." He glances back at Labelas for a moment, before looking back at the Queen. "The thought of this not being a fair trial never crossed my mind. However, if the result was set from the start, then I must admit I'm disappointed"
  33. KawaiiSpider - Today at 7:59 AM
  34. A look of appology fliters across the queens face for a moment. "A desire is nothing without the power to act on it. I pronounce you guilty. Arlaymenlanile, you may extract your revenge."
  35. Arlaymenlanile looks at you and you feel your limbs lock. The guards release you and your limbs force you to walk over to the fey lady and kneel before her. She draws a knife from a guards belt and she slowly begins to carve the skin from your body, healing you slightly each time you get close to passing out. As your clothes get in the way of the torture they are cut away, leaving you naked before the court. Many of the members leave quickly, though a few remain, drinking and eating as they watch the display.
  36.
  37. Soon all your skin is gone, along with your fingers and other extremities, her magic holding you in place this whole time, leaving you unable to even scream in pain. Soon she begins to cast another magic, holding her hold over you and her healing as well. Your form begins to shift, shrinking down to a mass of flesh with no form, no shape, and very limited senses. You are then taken to beneath the water of her pool, the watery depths a constant source of pain to your exposed flesh. You are left there, unable to die, unable to speak, unable to do anything besides regret your decision to stay.
  38.
  39. You are like this for a length of time that you can not determine before Labelas comes to end your torment, your soul finally moving onwards to wherever it belongs.
