  1. About My Sleep Cycle
  2. --------------------
  3.
  4. Since I don't work for a living and my sleep cycle seems to think there are about 25 or 26 hours in a day, I gain an hour or two most nights (though there are exceptions; sometimes I gain nothing, or even *lose* time sometimes). So if you want to know when exactly I'm available, it becomes important to know what kind of phase my sleep cycle is currently in. That's pretty easy; the four names for the phases I have are identified by what's in the middle of my awake-time. To be more concise, here are some numbers. These are approximately the middle of each phase (which is why you see some variance in numbers):
  5.
  6. * Day Phase, aka "Normal-People Hours"
  7. -> Awake for most of or all of the day.
  8. -> Wake Up: ~6 to 9 AM.
  9. -> Go to Bed: ~9 PM to midnight.
  10.
  11. * Evening Phase
  12. -> Awake mostly during the evening.
  13. -> Wake Up: ~10 AM to 1 PM.
  14. -> Go to Bed: ~1 to 4 AM.
  15.
  16. * Night Phase
  17. -> Awake overnight.
  18. -> Wake Up: ~4 to 7 PM.
  19. -> Go to Bed: ~7 to 10 AM.
  20.
  21. * Dawn Phase
  22. -> Awake such that dawn is in the middle of my "day."
  23. -> Wake Up: ~10 PM to 1 AM.
  24. -> Go to Bed: ~1 to 4 PM.

  26. How I Tend to Live, Task-Wise
  27. -----------------------------
  28.
  29. I tend to do certain things at certain times of day or night, just because that's usually the best time to do them for various reasons. Here's what you'll usually find me doing if you catch me awake at particular hours:
  30.
  31. -> Morning (6 to 10 AM): Usually "Work" stuff, such as working on my websites, writing stepcharts, taking care of uploads and downloads, and on the rare occasion it's necessary, making phone calls (as in, doing actual life-business). This is the best time to take care of it, as few people tend to be streaming for me to watch. I tend to be in business and planning mode at this hour, so this is the best time to make propositions and ask what my plans are.
  32.
  33. -> Day/Afternoon (10 AM to Whenever Dinner Is): This is the most likely time for me to begin (earlier on) and/or be (later on) streaming, in general. This time is usually spent streaming, or depending if it's close to getting up or going to bed, watching others' streams.
  34.
  35. -> Dinnertime (Anytime 5 to 7 PM): In this house, my stepmother Carol cooks dinner almost every night around this hour. However, there's no need to eat downstairs. It's best to at least pick it up, though, if not eat it now, depending what it is, so I'll generally at least bother to learn what was made. Sometimes I will do a social eating stream depending what it is and if I'm planning to continue streaming after dinner, or may instead elect to play music on my stream as I eat, although I generally like to relax as I eat dinner. If dinner hasn't quite hit yet, I'm usually looking to finish any runs I've got going in anticipation of it being dinnertime soon. Note that the dinner call *can* be ignored, and I have done so on a number of occasions.
  36.
  37. -> Night (7 PM to 2 AM): My speedrun streams can sometimes go this late, but if I'm streaming at all, more often than not it's my casual gaming streams that get to this point, with some starting at this hour after a day of speedrunning. This is generally designated "fun" and "relaxation" time, both on stream and off. If I'm streaming, you should generally expect casual play, or chat-interactive stuff such as Fibbage, Quiplash, or Chat Plays Oregon Trail. If I'm not streaming, I'm usually relaxing and possibly taking care of various internet-related management tasks, especially those that require interaction (such as discussing things with Moriya Shrine staff or denizens).
  38.
  39. -> Graveyard Hours (2 to 6 AM): This is just before my father tends to wake up, for reference. At this point, NOBODY in this house is awake other than myself, so I almost *never* stream at this hour. As a result, this is relaxation time combined with playing catch-up on things and/or acting on newfound curiosities. Although Twitch is a preference when something I want to watch is available, availability tends to start dropping off around 4 AM, so this is the most likely time you'll catch me watching anime, Japanese comedy, or anything for any reason on YouTube or DailyMotion. I may also work on things at this hour, such as stream layouts, or managing the Moriya Shrine. I tend to be pretty relaxed and have plenty of time, so this is the best time to ask me to try or look into anything new if you're awake at this hour.

  41. Can I Ask You To Change Your Sleep Cycle?
  42. -----------------------------------------
  43.
  44. As seen above, I do actually make use of the fact that my sleep cycle goes around and around; it tends to work out pretty well. So asking me to do *just* normal people hours only, permanently, would break my current ability to take care of things as amazingly as I do in this manner. (However, if there is an appointment or event I know about ahead-of-time, I will do my darndest to force my sleep cycle to whatever point it needs to be at to accommodate for the appointment or event time).
