- "Excerpt from some advice I gave on how to structure a product pitch (& remember, you "pitch" whenever you describe your project to someone)"
- When I go have a meeting with someone, I usually follow this format when pitching:
- -- Establish credibility fast. Could mean talking about the big company customers we have, could mean introducing ourselves and outlining our experience in the industry.
- -- Give a very quick overview of why they should care about my product. Couple sentences at most. Get their attention.
- -- Outline the problem I'm solving. Make them feel the pain of it.
- -- Talk about how my product solves that problem.
- -- Show them a demo or benchmarks to show I'm not making this up.
- -- Contact info, outline specific next steps.
- But then again, my product doesn't really make for a good demo-- all it does is make an image smaller, the most interesting part of my product is the problem it solves-- so you can feel free to mix it up.
