[15:43] <Kilarra> -Session 33-
[15:45] <Kilarra> The party is presently bifurcated, with Kilarra and ALuthyra having just recieved a good deal of information on the latters heritage thanks to a divine commune, while Kjell and Tognik were back at the Gold goblin, with Kjell preparing some new spells and testing the fit of his new armour.
[15:48] <Kilarra> Kjell comes out of his room in his new breast plate, showing it to Tognik. "A bit tight in the waist, but I suppose that's my fault, isn't it?"
[15:49] * Aluthyra gives Shorafa a bow as she stands up, ready to leave. She nods to Kilarra. "I would still like to purchase a few items from the cyphermages, if you would like to come along with me."
[15:50] <@Aluthyra> Tognik chuckles, rolling his eyes. "It would be, yes, but it'll do fine, I'm sure."
[15:50] * Kilarra nods, but remains quiet. She stands up, stretching her hooves before heading down the stairs.
[15:51] <Kilarra> Kjell looks to Tognik, "Indeed. Actually though, I was wondering if you might be willing to help me out with something else."
[15:52] * Aluthyra follows by Kilarra's side. She's... slightly confused as to why the woman is being so quiet, as it is certainly unlike her. She nudges Kilarra, frowning as she asks in a concerned tone, "Is something bothering you?"
[15:52] <@Aluthyra> Tognik quirks his head. "Well. Depends what something else is."
[15:52] * Kilarra shakes her head, "No. Why would anything be bothering me? You got what you wanted, didn't you? More or less."
[15:53] <Kilarra> Kjell nods, "Well, as that dwarf said, Noqual is supposedly difficult to enchant because of its naturally magic resistant properties. However, going into battle without a properly enchanted sword, especially now that we know what the stakes are building up to, would be foolish."
[15:54] * Aluthyra nods. "I did indeed, it just seems that you are quiet...-er than usual. You do not seem to be yourself."
[15:55] * Kilarra shakes her head, "I'm fine."
[15:58] * Kilarra looks to Aluthyra, "So... glad you got your answers."
[16:03] * Aluthyra nods, smiling. "As am I." She looks to Kilarra for a moment, still thinking the woman to be in a different state of mind.
[16:04] <@Aluthyra> Tognik nods. "Right, so... are you wanting me to help you get it enchanted?" He shrugs. "I'm not sure how much help I can be, unless you're wanting to borrow gold."
[16:04] <Kilarra> Kjell continues to Tognik, "So, I was hoping that you might be willing to help me cover the cost of getting my sword enchanted, since I might not be able to handle to upfront cost entirely on my own. Naturally, I would gladly give you my stake in any treasure or payments we recieve until you were repaid."
[16:06] <@Aluthyra> Tognik chuckles. "Figured as much, and sure. I can loan you some gold to cover the cost."
[16:07] * Aluthyra doesn't press the issue further, but recognizes that Kilarra is upset. She sighs, shaking her head. "Right, so, would you like to accompany me while I make my purchases?"
[16:08] <Kilarra> Kjell smiles, "Wonderful. Once the sword is delivered, we can head out and see what it will take, and then hopefully we can cover it between us. After that, we shall have a day or two while the work is done to relax from our ordeal before heading out to meet Kwava's people. I realize he desired haste, but I think we've earned a bit of a break."
[16:08] * Kilarra nods, "Sure."
[16:10] * Aluthyra nods, staying silent for the majority of the shopping. She purchases an efficient quiver from the cyphermages, along with a supply of arrows, returning to the Goblin with Kilarra if the cleric did not have business of her own.
[16:13] * Kilarra leaves her whip with the Cyphermages, commissioning it for a specified enchantment. She really needed her signature weapon to be able to actually hurt things.
[16:17] <Kilarra> A knock comes at the door to the gold goblin, with a dwarf being the one who came. He presents Kjell with his Noqual sword and a sheaf of parchment detailing the reagents needed to get it enchanted. The cost of the reagents is also given.
[16:18] <Kilarra> Kjell blinks at that, "Guess he figured what I was gonna do, given that I asked about it." He chuckles, "Nice to have a bit of insight. Steep though, as he said."
[16:18] <@Aluthyra> Tognik nods, looking into his haversack. "How much do you need?"
[16:19] <Kilarra> Kjell counts out his own coin
[16:21] <Kilarra> Kjell notes, "I have three hundred and twenty five Platinum pieces, and I can add in seven-hundred and fifty gold for four thousand. The reagents come to a total of five thousand, and the cost of a basic enchantment, from my experience, is another two thousand. Can you afford a loan of three thousand?"
[16:25] <Kilarra> Kjell notes, "Or three hundred platinum if you've got it
[16:25] <Kilarra> ."
[16:29] <@Aluthyra> Tognik nods, "I can do that. I have a little bit over 3000, but I can lend out that much."
[16:29] <Kilarra> Kjell smiles, "Excellent. Shall we pay a visit to the Cyphermages then? They seem like the ones to see for magic and enchantment around here."
[16:38] * Tognik nods, heading out the door, and chuckles. "Let's get it paid for. Don't let the tight breastplate slow you down."
[16:39] <Kilarra> Kjell chuckles heartily and heads off with Tognik.
[16:39] <Kilarra> As Tognik and Kjell arrive at the Cypherlodge, Aluthyra and Kilarra are just coming out.
[16:40] * Aluthyra waves to the pair, not expecting to see them quite yet.
[16:42] <Kilarra> Kjell smiles, "Salutations comrades. I take it you have some enchanting work that needed doing as well?" He draws his new noqual sword to give them a look at it.
[16:43] * Aluthyra nods, looking to his sword, then asks Kjell, "For a more efficient quiver. And you are here for your sword?" She chuckles, "Possibly Samaritha as well?"
[16:44] <Kilarra> Kjell chuckles, "No reason to waste an opportunity when this seems to be the best option for enchantments and magic items around." He sheathes the new sword.
[16:44] * Kilarra looks at it curiously, "Looks funky and all, but what's it do?"
[16:45] <Kilarra> Kjell smiles, "Aside from being resistant to magic, which will make sundering it difficult once its enchanted, it can also be disruptive to magical creations such as golems and the undead. According to the dwarf at the gas forges."
[16:45] * Kilarra blinks, "Wait, really?" She looks contemplative for a moment.
[16:46] * Aluthyra raises an eyebrow at Kilarra. "That seems it will be of use, considering the undead we faced on the island."
[16:48] * Kilarra nods, "Maybe I should get a mace or something... I suppose it wouldn't hurt to get a backup weapon, since my whip is getting enchanted right now."
[16:49] <Kilarra> Kjell nods, "If you're going to, sooner would be better than later. Thanks to our rescue of Goldhammer and his company, they offered a generous discount."
[16:49] <Kilarra> Kjell notes, "Although, the enchantment comes with a steep reagent cost. I'm having to take a loan from Tognik here to cover the whole thing."
[16:50] <@Aluthyra> Tognik chuckles. "No interest either. Lucky for him."
[16:51] <Kilarra> Kjell smiles, "That so? Even better."
[16:51] * Aluthyra asks Kilarra, "Do you have enough gold for such a weapon?"
[16:52] * Kilarra has 22 platinum and 250 gold, "I could probably just scrape by, but if I can't get it enchanted, I might be better served just sticking to magic."
[16:54] * Aluthyra nods. "If nothing else, I have gold that I can lend, seeing as I do not have enough to further enchant my bow."
[16:56] * Kilarra shakes her head, "Nah, not worth it at the moment. I snagged some enchanted bolts from that drow cleric's crossbow, so they'll do in a pinch."
[17:00] <Kilarra> Kjell nods, "It was only a suggestion." He then heads inside to get his sword enchantment commissioned. He also trades in his old chain shirt to recoup a bit of his gold.
[17:08] <Kilarra> Kjell comes out after a while, having, of course, stopped to chat up Samaritha a bit. "So, it'll take a coupel of days for the work to be completed," he notes.
[17:08] * Kilarra nods, "Same here with my whip. Maybe we should take a break, considering we just spend the last three days running up and down the worst island in the history of... ever."
[17:10] * Aluthyra smiles. "A break would be appreciated. I do not have anything else to attend to though. Do any of you?" Aluthyra is, of course, unfamiliar with the area, and any suggestions on what to do would be appreciated!
[17:12] <Kilarra> Kjell nods, "Marvelous. We could of course, always head back over to the local hall of Cayden Caelian for a drink. Considering that Zincher is out of the picture though, and according to him, Sylegg lost a lot of men and a ship at the Elbow, things might start to get shaken up in terms of local power."
[17:13] * Kilarra shrugs, "Shorafa knows well enough how to keep her head down, so I don't think we need to worry about her. Daroskt and Katarina aren't exactly in leage with the crimelords either, they're just trying to run a single business."
[17:15] * Kilarra adds, "Besides, that's not exactly something that's rare around here."
[17:18] <@Aluthyra> Tognik shrugs. "I could do for a drink at the hall."
[17:19] * Aluthyra frowns. "I am not one that drinks often, if at all." She looks to Kilarra. "Would you have any suggestions on how to pass the time in this town or relax?" She blinks. "Besides anything sexual."
[17:20] * Kilarra feels she could use a drink. She readily follows Tognik across the river to the Publican House.
[17:20] <Kilarra> The group can get their by taking the ferry, much like Kilarra did by herself before recruiting them.
[17:20] <Kilarra> *there
[17:23] * Aluthyra follows... though she isn't going to be drinking much.
[17:25] <Kilarra> The tavern is racous as ever, but there is very much an atmosphere of good cheer and merriment.
[17:25] * Kilarra however, is not her for merriment. She wants a drink, and quickly orders something, seating herself. Figures the best woman she ever meets since Shorafa was totally out of her reach.
[17:31] * Aluthyra just orders herself a water, then sits next to Kilarra. She gives the other woman a smile, knowing that she is upset... by something.
[17:32] * Kilarra just takes a pull of her drink, not smiling. She knew enough about religion to know followers of Cayden would get mad at her for drinking to drown her sorrows, but really, fuck them anyways.
[17:37] <Kilarra> Kjell naturally orders a good pink of ale, treating Tognik for his drinks as well as a sign of friendship.
[17:37] <Kilarra> *pint
[17:39] <@Aluthyra> Tognik is glad for the free drink, and lets Kjell know that the drink won't be coming out of the 3000 gold loan.
[17:39] <Kilarra> Kjell didn't think as much, considering a single drink is only a few copper anyways
[17:40] * Aluthyra watches Kilarra for a while, trying to think of what could be bothering her. She still can't put her finger on it, so instead asks, "Kilarra... you are sure that nothing is bothering you?"
[17:43] * Kilarra continues taking long pulls from her drink. "What could I possibly have to be bothered about? We got to lay the smack down on a bunch of undead, I got a nice big celebratory lay, and we're going on to thwart some nasty, end-of-the world style scheming."
[17:44] * Aluthyra sighs. "...I do not know, and that is why I am asking you." She shakes her head. "You definitely seem upset, and I'd like to help you, if there is something I can do."
[17:46] * Kilarra shakes her head, "There's nothing you'd wanna do." She just takes another drink, finishing off her first and ordering another.
[17:52] * Aluthyra sighs, placing her hand on Kilarra's shoulder. "Can you tell me what it is, at least?"
[17:53] * Aluthyra gives Kilarra a sympathetic smile.
[17:55] * Kilarra frowns at the touch, as though she expected the aasimar's hand would sear her somehow. "Whether you want to help me or not, you'd have no interest in doing what would help, so just stop wasting your breath and let me drink in peace."
[18:00] <Kilarra> Kjell looks at Kilarra with a raised eyebrow. This simply wouldn't do. "Come now Kilarra, I'm sure whatever's troubling you-"
[18:01] * Kilarra cuts Kjell off, "Just leave me alone." She slams down her half-finished drink and departs from the tavern. Her destination is the Veil, she needed to blow off some steam, and there were at least two people there she could think of that would be totally fine with her whipping them.
[18:03] * Aluthyra frowns as Kilarra leaves. Hopefully she'd be more open to talking at some point...
[18:04] * Kilarra spends the night at the Veil, making some masochist -very- happy.
[18:04] * Aluthyra sighs, looking to Kjell and Tognik. "I think I am going to return to the Goblin." She stands, leaving the pair and returning to her room for the night.
[18:06] <Kilarra> Kjell sighs, "That's a bit of a downer. I just hope she gets out her frustrations before it comes a detriment to our goal."
[18:14] <@Aluthyra> Tognik sighs, taking a gulp of his drink. "Hopefully. At least we have a few days to figure it out."
[18:15] <Kilarra> Kjell nods, "Mercifully. You think you can talk to her? You've got a rather silvered tongue as it happens."
[18:17] * Tognik raises an eyebrow. "I can try. Not sure much good it'd do, but sure. I'll try."
[18:17] <Kilarra> Kjell nods, "Aye, she's a brash, moody tiefling, but you'd probably be the least likely to get a tongue lashing in return at least."
[18:20] <@Aluthyra> Tognik nods, sinking back into his seat with his drink. He shakes his head, definitely not looking forward to that conversation.
[18:21] <Kilarra> -End Session-
