| background: jihae's life never started out easily, she was born on the wrong side of the tracks with her father being an alcoholic, gambler and  involved with some shady people. her mother though was quite loving despite being married to such a horrible man and loved him and her children however she had weak health. jihae knew her life wasn't as fortunate as other kids even at a young age so she was quite mature as a child. she often found herself going to the local clinic with her mother to get checkups and would be the one at times to make sure that her mother had took her medicine. her father also had a tendency to come home absolutely livid and drunk as hell, beating his wife saying that she was wasting the money with her hospital visits. during these times her mother would hide jihae away in another room or tell her to get out of the house. jihae would often go to the clinic because that had been the only place that she felt safe in and the doctor had grown fond of the pitiful young girl so he would let her stay. however when jihae was 7 years old and her younger sister had been born, her father got even worse often beating his wife until she was barely conscious enough to hide her children away from his beatings or tell them to get away from the house. one night her father came home reeking of alcohol, angry because he had lost all of his money gambling and the loansharks that he had borrowed was coming after him and that day jihae's mum had been to the doctor's to get new medicines because her health had been failing ever since she had given birth to her second child on top of the occasional beatings she received. jihae couldn't just watch her mum get beaten up and picked up her sister to run to the local clinic, she had just caught the doctor just about to close up when she came to ask for him to help, crying for him to save her mum. when they arrived back home, she had found the home silent, her father had gone and his mother barely alive. the doctor brought her to the clinic to take care of her wounds and her mother knowing how unstable jihae's father was begged for the doctor to take her children away. the doctor and his wife had seen the poor family struggle ever since they had set up the clinic, they'd also grown to like jihae and have had trouble having children of their own so they agreed. soon after they became jihae and her sister's adopted parents flying to jeju where the doctor came from even though jihae didn't want to leave her mother but obeyed on the promise that they would see each other again when she got older.
jihae's life turned around when she went to jeju and being able to do things that normal kids were able to but she was still quite withdrawn preferring not to associate with others her own age. she was also quite close to her adoptive father and thankful to both adoptive parents for taking care of her and her sister. they had kept her younger sister unaware of the past and had thought that the two were her real parents. when jihae was 16, her school went to a field trip to busan and she decided to try and find her real mum but she ended up finding out that her mother had died a couple of years ago after the gang that her father was running away from killed her and her dad had disappeared. there and then jihae decided that she would get revenge for her mother. when she graduated from high school, jihae moved out to seoul to go to university to study to become a doctor but to also get to start trying to find her father.

| personality: jihae is introverted and unexpressive, she's the type of person who is unapproachable and scary. she's very closed off and can come off as tough and coldhearted, but she's just seen too much to express anything. she doesn't think much about a lot of people and can be quite cynical, thinking the worst of them so it's tough for her to trust anyone or even get her to think that they're relevant enough to be paid attention to you. she often seen scowling or just unemotional face that is until you get on her nerves. she considers herself to have quite a lot of patience but if you get on the wrong foot with her you'll come out wishing you didn't. jihae's full of sarcastic remarks and comebacks. she may come off as heartless but she's deeply loyal and cares a lot about human life, she'll do anything to save a life. people think that she doesn't feel anything but she tends to keep her emotions locked up until they become a huge ball of anger or she'll cry by herself in private. she loves her family a lot and calls them up to check up on them, she actually moved away to make sure that they don't get affected if she gets too involved with bad people. she loves her younger sister a lot and is very protective of her, sometimes coming off as an overprotective parent when her adopted father tells jihae that she's been hanging around with boys or coming home late. the only time she looks peaceful or at least not grumpy is when she listening to music or reading/writing books. writing stories has also helped her to express emotions that she doesn't express and to get stuff out of her heart. it also makes her seem like just anyother uni student her age and enjoys the brief peacefulness that she gets.

| how did they join r.o.y.a.l.s: she had gotten into the shadier side of seoul trying to find leads on her father and the gang that had killed her mother. she heard about the r.o.y.a.l.s in that area too how they could help you get or find things if you had enough money to pay them. of course she didn't have the money being a poor uni student and not wanting her adopted family to find out what she was doing. but she snooped around enough to draw the attention of the group and seungho who asked if she wanted join in order to find more info about her father.

	- BEG | jihae doesn't like him a lot because she can't stand how lively he is. she hates people who are noisy and also tease her about her height which is another thing that he did when they first met. she finds him irritating and annoying but she's also kinda confused as to why he puts up with her being grumpy and quiet. when they're in a room together she just ignores him but there's also something inside her that sorta enjoys his personality (but she wont admit it)
	- MID | jihae begins to not mind him which she found quite strange. but she's finding his playfulness kinda funny and he also sorta reminded her of her little sister. she's finding him as an entertaining source of distraction because despite being in this business not too affected by it. she's finding him an emotional relief because when she's angry or pissed she can just rant and then he'll make some funny remark that will have her letting out a laugh. she still finds him too loud and irritating sometimes though.although she's finding that she's talking to him more than she's ever done to most people, she's still closed off. there's something that also makes her want to trust him but she's still quite cynical towards people.
	- END | jihae admits that she's comfortable around him and she lets out small smiles when she's around him. she's still her quiet self but she finds that he brings out more of her. she's formed a small crush on him not knowing how it developed but she wont even admit it anyway. she finds herself opening up to him and even coming to him when she's emotionally distressed and seeking for comfort with his playful comments and behaviour. she's scared to get too close to him because she doesn't want to have to lose another person which has a high chance happening in this type of work. she still finds herself going off at him at times though.

	- BEG | he's his typical playful self around her and so teases her about her height which was the wrong move. he was kinda taken aback by her personality because she seems super scary and serious. he didn't really like her either but unlike other people who would be put off by jihae's personality, baekhyun found her reactions entertaining and interesting. so he's constantly hanging around her and teasing because it would break her usual unemotional expression.
	-  MID | they sorta become friends in a way. he finds that although she comes off as unemotional, she has a lot to say other than fiery comebacks and that she keeps a lot of things inside. he's still the same playful self around her but finds jihae amusing and more fun than before because she's beginning to joke around and open up with him. he finds her mysterious and attractive because at one time she can seem like she doesn't care about anyone or anything but then she'll treat someone's wounds with the utmost care the next moment. he's also beginning to realise that jihae is the way she is because of her dark past and that's made her untrusting to people seeing their bad side before their good.
	- END | they've been hanging around more than he thought they would have when they first met. he finds her small smiles really precious and endearing so he tries to make her laugh as much as he can. he really wants her to be more open to him so he tries to get her to be more open but not seem like he's prying too much. he kinda wants ask her out but not sure if she's interested in him that way so he kinda hints it by lowkey flirting with her but it gets him frustrated because she doesn't understand that he's actually flirting with her. he also does small skinships but he does it carefully because she always says that she doesn't like people touching her and so he gets super surprised when he does it and she doesn't hit him or when she initiates it. he still loves teasing her to bits because getting her angry is funny to him.
