  1. Name: Akahoshi Eri
  2.
  3. Introduction: Eri was a wild tuxedo cat born around the beginning of the 20th century, adopted by the daughter of the Akahoshi family, a fledgling magician family that apprenticed under a Western witch that fled there from Europe. The witch treated Eri as both a pet and a makeshift familiar, attempting to teach her magic via animal-whispering spells (it didn't go very well, Eri was still only as smart as regular cats). After a few years, however, Eri's house cat life came to an end when the family, at the urging of their mentor, decided to migrate to another plane to escape the dwindling magic of the Outside World. As a normal cat who had only learned(?) some magic, Eri was left behind for her own safety. Though she could no longer use magic, her time living with a witch family and being able to communicate with them had left her more knowledgeable of the humans' ways than any normal animal and helped her survive on the streets over the years until she became a beast youkai and eventually found her way into Gensokyo.
  4. Though a cat youkai, Eri has no qualms fishing for free meals at the Human Village in her cat form, appearing as an ordinary black-and-white cat. When she needs to talk to humans and youkai, she shows off(?) with her human form, which appears as a short young girl with straight black hair, plus a tuft of white hair at the side of her bangs and a pair of black cat ears. She wears the black equivalent of a sundress and a sun hat that covers her cat ears; she's been told that the outfit looks weird when the dress is black before, but she doesn't care!
  5. While Eri is rather preoccupied with acting out the stereotype of cats being graceful and aloof creatures (when not begging for food in her cat form), she's actually playful and mischievous at heart. She's prone to pranking and stealing food, mainly to rile people up (which isn't too hard, considering her ability!) Despite being proud of having been around long enough to become a youkai, she's quite comfortable in her cat form and likes to use it to go on all sorts of roaming and parkour adventures.

  56. SCP: 12/12 (4 CP spent)
  57. - Grease (Beneficial)
  58. Effect: Creation (2) - Single Target
  59. Duration: Encounter (3)
  60. Cost: 5
  61. Description: The classic instant-slip-and-slide spell, great at parties! ...Unfortunately less useful in Gensokyo, since folks can usually skip town by flying. To quell future mountains of threads about whether the grease is actually flammable, it is.
  62.
  63. - Glamour (Beneficial)
  64. Effect: Illusion (2), Sound, Sight and Touch (+2)
  65. Duration: Encounter (3)
  66. Cost: 7
  67. Description: Creates a respectable facsimile of a solid object for several minutes. (Liquids can be faked with this spell, though it'd feel solid when touched.) It looks real and feels real and solid, though it can't feel heavier than <WEIGHT TBD> or so. Can be dispelled by the user at any time. Great for pranking at parties.
  68. After some hard work (and proper instruction from a non-child magician), Eri has become able to use the spell to project sounds! Specifically, either the sound would emanate from the illusionary object, or she could just forgo the object entirely and simply cause disembodied sounds to emanate from a designated spot. She isn't terribly precise at making the sounds sound like what she has in mind; complex and specific sounds like speech in particular come out rather audibly distorted...which makes it actually better for pranks and tests of courage!
  69.
  70. [Spellcards]
  71. - Ember Sign "Birth of a Star"
  72. Thought-Fast (4k5 -> 5k4)
  73. Spirit-Swarm (6k4)
  74. Mystique-Slow (2k3 -> 3k2)
  75. Description: Four large fireballs appear from the edges of the battle area, forming the corners of a square then converge into the center, colliding into each other. As they press against each other, they're ground down to numerous flame bullets of various speeds that are shot outwards in a semi-random fashion, concentrated around the diagonals of the directions the fireballs came from (e.g. if the fireballs' paths formed a + shape, then the flame bullets will be shot out in an X formation). The flame bullets can be divided into an initial burst of fast bullets shot in tight angles, and a subsequent gradual trickle of slow shots that are fired across wider cones. Periodically, more fireballs appear in sets of 4 from random directions and converge inwards, grinding against each other and any remaining fireballs, adding more chaos. The challenge comes from being aware of and getting out of the way of the cross-shaped hazards while not running into the slower bullets everywhere.
  76.
  77. - Ember Sign "Roasting Chestnuts"
  78. Thought-Random (4k4)
  79. Spirit-Swarm (6k4)
  80. Mystique-Fast (2k5 -> 4k3)
  81. Description: Fast generic waves of fast bullets are periodically fired along with medium-large spherical bullets that start out fast but continuously lose speed, coming to a stop at around the same distance the opponent is at. After the first few rounds of shooting, the spheres start being ignited in a random order, spraying a burst of small, fast "pellets" in the opponent(s)'s direction after a brief moment of glowing. These pellets start out with faster explosive speed the further they initially are from the target and quickly lose speed, fading away a short while after coming to a stop.
  82.
  83. - Ignis Arcanum "Discordant Phlegethon"
  84. Thought-Random (4k4)
  85. Spirit-Fast (6k5)
  86. Mystique-Slow (2k3 -> 3k2)
  87. Description: A cascade of slow bullets continuously gushes forth from one direction in a somewhat disordered manner. Periodically, 5 magic circles with no hitbox appear at random points near the opponent. They begin glowing after a short while; 2 of them rapidly reaching maximum brightness, and the rest considerably slower. When a magic circle reaches maximum brightness, it manifests a swirl of fire made of small fire bullets that rapidly spin for a few seconds before converging into the swirl's center, then bursting forth in all directions at high speed. New waves of magic circles continuously come in, appearing immediately after the slower 3 of the previous batch of magic circles have formed flame swirls.
