  1. <Fallenspartan> hey man listen, i have been meaning to talk to you. im getting feedback from djs expressing their fear of speaking up because they're afraid of being banned. i've also heard from more than one expressing....feelings, about tdurden. Not him specifically, but rather how he has become the face of tps radio due to the schedule. Don't take any of this the wrong way, but if they wont speak up, I feel someone should.
  2. <Fallenspartan> I personally will just be glad when all this crazyness is resolved lol
  3. <hypnotoad> mannnnn
  4. <Fallenspartan> mannn what?
  5. <hypnotoad> well
  6. <hypnotoad> the way to make sure that doesn't become a reality is to be sure to keep our shifts varied
  7. <hypnotoad> and i talked a bit to tdurden about that
  8. <hypnotoad> but is everybody. i mean look at 6pm-2am throughout the whole week
  9. <hypnotoad> really just 5-7 people.... over 56 hours
  10. <hypnotoad> if those 5-7 people see the utility in giving up 3 hours each, that's another 20 hours of "heavy traffic" time for a DJ
  11. <hypnotoad> also please turn off your away message
  12. <hypnotoad> i hate getting it after every danged PM
  13. <Fallenspartan> oh, forgot about that, one sec
  14. <hypnotoad> but as i was saying.. ther are ways to make sure it doesn't become one dimensional. i'd like to see this happen... before doing the next schedule (after the one we're about o start working on), figure out who can DJ on friday night from 8am-2am
  15. <hypnotoad> oops
  16. <hypnotoad> 8pm-2am
  17. <hypnotoad> and do this
  18. <hypnotoad> you have the anonymous DJ competition... whoever gets the most votes gets to keep DJing. then someone new can challenge that DJ if they want, do the same thing at he top of the hour
  19. <hypnotoad> maybe not friday night
  20. <hypnotoad> maybe a tues or wed
  21. <hypnotoad> but i think that'd be kick ass. you'd have votes based on the music and not the DJ, and you'd have competition prevailing lol
  22. <hypnotoad> idk
  23. <hypnotoad> here's the other thing
  24. <hypnotoad> as long as someone is an active and reliable DJ they can speak their mind about relevant issues -- and not have to worry about being asked to leave
  25. <hypnotoad> i mean how would T3 and i ever know if things were going terribly except if we were either here just lurking (and not helping, which seems dumb), or someone told us about what was up
  26. <Fallenspartan> well heres my thoughts on this...i think the idea of a competition is good and can yield good results, but i also feel taht witht he already built up tension, it can turn unfriendly
  27. <Fallenspartan> that with the*
  28. <hypnotoad> lol
  29. <hypnotoad> yea
  30. <hypnotoad> here's the deal man
  31. <hypnotoad> they gotta tell this to me directly, or tell T3 if he happens to be around
  32. <hypnotoad> whenver it is they want to discuss it
  33. <hypnotoad> i'm not a second hand info kind of guy
  34. <hypnotoad> but even if that weren't the case it'd be necessary
  35. <Fallenspartan> ive told them they could speak with you guys, but its always the same result, nothing is said and when i asked them about it i get 'i dont want to start shit' or 'we arent treated equally'
  36. <hypnotoad> well tell them they can't have it both ways
  37. <Fallenspartan> meaning that because they arent official DJs they have a small voice, and that stuff that T3 said about having ONLY official DJs talk about certain things, i have to be honest. i dont agree with that.
  38. <hypnotoad> and that if they're not going to take it where it needs to go, they need to can it and not get you all caught up in their drama
  39. <Fallenspartan> because ive heard good ideas from 2 of the djs
  40. <hypnotoad> well here's the math.
  41. <Fallenspartan> basically man it comes down to politics and they feel tdurden is being shown favoritism
  42. <Fallenspartan> is the impression im getting
  43. <Fallenspartan> i think a large part of it just simply has to do with communication, there's not enough of it
  44. <hypnotoad> i see our average listeners around 15 over the course of the day maybe. *maybe*. and right now there are what... 7 ppl on staff
  45. <hypnotoad> yeah i count 8.
  46. <hypnotoad> so for ever 2 listeners on average, we have one perceived staff member
  47. <hypnotoad> it's a very bloated number and until one of two things happen nobody will be added:
  48. <hypnotoad> 1. we gain more listeners, consistenly
  49. <hypnotoad> 2. people don't keep up with the requirements and are stepped down
  50. <Fallenspartan> ok, well let me ask you this...
  51. <Fallenspartan> say an official wanted to step down, but remain in just a support capacity
  52. <Fallenspartan> problem?
  53. <hypnotoad> yes, because you'd lose privs to the forum
  54. <hypnotoad> but man
  55. <hypnotoad> regardless of whether you're speaking about yourself or another, just wait it out a bit please
  56. <Fallenspartan> ok, fair enough
  57. <Fallenspartan> well, thanks for clearing it up
