  1. >You awaken, your left side crying out in agony.
  2. >Rolling in the dirt, you clutch your ribs, screaming for either death or help, which ever comes first.
  3. >After a bit, the massive pain ebbs down to a bad cramp, allowing you to concentrate on your surroundings.
  4. >You're on a dirt road in on the edge of a quaint forest, the sun shining happily down upon you.
  5. >Looking yourself over, you see that you're wearing an olive drab uniform that's caked in dried mud.
  6. >You smell of sweat and ash, with a pistol sidearm strapped to your side.
  7. >You wobble as you stand up, your head feeling as though its spinning like a top.
  8. >Regaining your equilibrium, you notice a rifle and helmet laying on the road nearby where you awoke.
  9. >The rifle is an M1 Garand, covered in almost as much mud as yourself.
  10. >You retrieve the rifle, sling it over your shoulder, and take one more look around.
  11. >With the forest to your back, you look out upon a vast, field.
  12. >The dirt road stretched to your right and to your left.
  13. >Taking a deep breath, you turn to your right and start walking down the road, hoping that you're heading in the right direction.
  14.
  15. >Walking down the road gave you some time to think.
  16. >The last thing that you remember is that there was a massive war, and you were a soldier.
  17. >United States 2nd Ranger Battalion
  18. >You were from Massachusetts, and your family ran a small hardware shop.
  19. >Your name is Corporal...
  20. >Corporal...
  21. "Corporal, watch your left!"
  22. >What was your name?
  23. >Suddenly, on the horizon, you noticed an approaching figure.
  24. >Not taking any chances, you equip your rifle and dash into the forest, waiting for the target to pass by.
  25. >The approaching target is a large wagon being pulled by a small horse.
  26. >This must be a dream.
  27. >The horse was a light blue with a frosty white mane.
  28. >It's facial features were closer to human than horse, and it sported a horn atop its head.
  29. >You must be fucking dreaming.
  30. >The blue horse was whistling a slightly catching tune as it began to pass by, not noticing you in the woods.
  31. >Lowering your rifle, you decide to take a chance and interact with this creature.
  32. >After all, you're dreaming, what's the worse that could possibly happen?
  33. >Walking out of the woods, you have your left hand in the air, your rifle still in your right.
  34. "Hello there!" You shout.
  35. >The horse stopped, stunned upon seeing you come out of the wood work.
  36. >"Who are you?" It shouted back.
  37. >Eeyup, you're dreaming alright.
  38.
  39. >"Answer me!" The horse demanded.
  40. >She was quite demanding, to be sure.
  41. "I'm a corporal in the United States Army Rangers Battalion."
  42. >You can't believe that you're talking to a horse.
  43. >"I did not ask for your title," The horse was not happy, "I asked for your name!"
  44. "I don't remember my name. I just kinda woke up in the middle of the road."
  45. >The horse slipped out of the reigns of the wagon and approached you.
  46. >She stood at a good four feet, too small to be a horse, a pony perhaps.
  47. >"Well, if that's the case, my anonymous amnesiac, I am the Great and Powerful Trixie."
  48. "I've never heard of you."
  49. >Her expression seemed to insist that she did not like to hear that.
  50. "Look, uh, Trixie, I just need a ride to the nearest town. I don't want my squad to think I've gone AWOL."
  51. >"If you would like a ride to Ponyville, then it's going to cost you."
  52. "Fine, whatever."
  53. >Where?
  54. "Wait, what's Ponyville? Is that French?"
  55. >Trixie looked at you as though you had just spoken another language.
  56. >"Where do you think you are?"
  57. "We will be landing on this beech head."
  58. "Am I in Germany?"
  59. >"You're nowhere near Germaneigh, you're in Equestria."
  60. >What? Where?
  61. >This has to be a dream. That's the only logical explanation as to why you're in a made up country with a talking unicorn.
  62. >"You look confused."
  63. "You're god damn right I'm confused! I'm talking to a blue horse in the middle of buttfuck nowhere!"
  64. >"Trixie is not some ugly horse! I am a pony!" You've offended her again.
  65. >You throw your gun to the ground, turning your back on Trixie and screaming to the sky
  66. "I can wake up any time now!"
  67. >"Here, let Trixie help."
  68. >You feel Trixie buck you in the back, knocking you to the ground.
  69. "Sniper! Get down!"
  70. >The horse is real.
  71. >The dirt is real.
  72. >The conversation is real.
  73. >The pain is real.
  74. >This is no dream.
  75. >It's a nightmare.
  76.
  77. >You layer there in the dirt, wondering what's happening to you.
  78. "I'm in an imaginary place, talking to a blue horse." You mutter to yourself.
  79. >Is this insanity?
  80. >For a moment, you contemplate reaching for your side arm, putting the barrel in your mouth, and pulling the trigger.
  81. ~You're a Ranger, boy!
  82. >But you don't.
  83. >This is a new land, no doubt filled with magical wonders. And you're probably the only human here.
  84. >Rangers lead the way.
  85. >If the Army somehow finds a you, and brings you back home, you don't want it to be in a casket.
  86. ~You're a Ranger, boy!
  87. >You pick yourself up and look to Trixie.
  88. "I'm sorry ma'am," You tell her, "if I've offended you. This is all a bit of a shock to me."
  89. >The blue mare raised an eyebrow.
  90. >"Where are you from then? What are you doing here?"
  91. "I'm from Springfield, Massachusetts, in the United States of America. As to why I'm here," You scratch the back of your head, "Well, I don't right know. I told you, I just kinda woke up here."
  92. >"I have no idea where that is, and I know a lot of places outside of Equestria."
  93. "Do you know Britain? Russia? Japan? Europe?"
  94. >Trixie shook her head.
  95. >"You did mention Germaneigh..."
  96. "I said Germany, not Germanay."
  97. >"Is there a difference?"
  98. "Yes, one is ruled by Adolf Hitler and is rampaging across Europe. The other is a fucking horse pun."
  99. >"I believe that were talking about two completely different places."
  100. >Great. With no concise point of reference for location, you'd need a map to really know where you are.
  101. "Is there a map or a library or something in this, Ponyville?"
  102. >"Yes, but Trixie isn't going to just give you a free ride."
  103. "How much?"
  104. >"Fifty bits."
  105. "How much is that in American money?"
  106. >"I take bits."
  107. "I don't have bits."
  108. >She smiled like a banker who just signed a person into a life of debt.
  109. >"Then it looks like we're going to have to come to a different arrangement, no?"
  110. "What do you have in mind?"
  111. >"How about assisting me in my next show?"
  112. "What kind of show?"
  113. >"Magic."
  114. >You hate magic.
  115.
  116. >You sat in the back of Trixie's wagon, looking around at the various knick-knacks inside.
  117. >There were various posters for The Great and Powerful Trixie, depicting the pulling the wagon as a powerful sorcerer with a matching hat and cape.
  118. >Hanging in the corner was the wizard hat and cape, decorated with stars and crescent moons.
  119. >You say stop a single bed, freshly made with blue sheets and soft pillows.
  120. >The wagon stopped moving, and Trixie came through the back door.
  121. >"It's getting dark, so we're camping here for the night."
  122. >You walked out of the wagon as she walked in to look for something.
  123. >You surveyed the sunset, the sky painted pink, orange and yellow.
  124. >A bar of soap hits your back.
  125. >"Go to the stream and don't come back until you're clean!" Trixie shouted out to you. "I will not perform with some dirty ape!"
  126. >A small stream ran by the road, just deep enough to serve as an adequate bath tub.
  127. >You strip down and sit in the slightly chilly water. You rinse and scrub at the dirt on your skin and head.
  128. >You hear Trixie approaching as you sit on the stream, relaxing as you let the water run over you.
  129. >"I broughth you a towel." She said, a blue towel in her teeth.
  130. "Thanks."
  131. >You take the towel, stand up, and begin drying yourself off, starting with your hair.
  132. >Trixie's face began to flush with red.
  133. >"Yes, well, um, I'll just, uh, leave you alone."
  134. >The mare rolled her eyes away from you, trying not to look.
  135. >"And, er, don't forget your, uh clothes. Cleaning them I mean."
  136. >She trotted back to the wagon. You couldn't help but chuckle at her embarrassment.
  137.
  138. >Sitting by the fire, You have your entire Garand rifle stripped and cleaned of any mid and dirt, neatly organized on the you weapon cleaning kit was contained in.
  139. >Trixie lay across from you on the other side of the fire, sound asleep.
  140. >It was almost... Cute.
  141. >You decide to do an ammo count, searching your combat uniform's pockets for cartridges and grenades.
  142. >Five en bloc clips for your Garand, four magazines for your M1911 sidearm, and a smoke grenade.
  143. >And a single, slightly stained, folded piece of paper.
  144. >Curious, you open it up, and notice that it's a letter.
  145. ~"Please... Give it to..."
  146. >You recognize that it's not written by you, but by someone else.
  147. ~Dear Father,
  148. If you are reading this, then I am dead. Please thank the man who gave you this letter, as he came a long way to give it to you.
  149. With God as my witness, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for everything I've said and done to you. I'm sorry I ran away to join the army. I'm sorry that I was an stupid fucking kid that couldn't see that you were trying to protect me all those years. Maybe if I had listened to you, I'd be a doctor, or a lawyer. But instead, I'm getting shot at while shitting in a hole.
  150. But father, try to understand that I'm doing our people right. Our people are in trouble here, and I just can't sit at home and let them suffer and die at the claws of these beasts.
  151. Father, I hope you get this letter. I want to tell you what I should have told you long ago.
  152. I love you dad.
  153. Your son, Peter Wacowski.
  154. >Peter Wacowski.
  155. >Private Peter Wacowski.
  156. >He was a good friend.
  157. >And from your possession of this letter, he was also dead.
  158. >When had this happened?
  159. >You couldn't remember.
  160. >And somehow, that hurt more than any wound.
  161.
  162. >You sat just behind the curtain of Trixie's show, astonished at how her little wagon turned into a big stage.
  163. >From the sounds of it, the crowd outside wasn't overly impressed with her.
  164. >Your job was to wait until Trixie gave you the signal. She'd summon you out onto the stage and you'd pretend to be a rabid beast.
  165. >Then she would "do battle" with you and win, saving the town.
  166. >If you ever found your way back home, you would not be telling your squad about this.
  167. >"And now, Trixie shall summon a wild beast from thin air!"
  168. >Well, there's your-
  169. >In a flash, you were out on the stage in front of the crowd.
  170. >About fifty colorful ponies stared back at you, astonished to see you appear out of no where.
  171. >Honestly, you were just as surprised as they were.
  172. >But, it's your time to shine now.
  173. >You raise your hands and let out a roar. The crowd jumped, afraid.
  174. >"Worry not, hapless citizens, for Trixie shall vanquish this monster!"
  175. >You turned to Trixie and charged.
  176. >The horn on her head flashed and she disappeared.
  177. >You looked around yourself like a maddened beast, no idea how she did that.
  178. >"Over here monster!" Trixie shouted from behind the crowd.
  179. >The gathering split, allowing you a clear line of sight.
  180. >A beam of light burst from her horn and hit you.
  181. >It didn't hurt, but for entertainment's sake, you fell to your knees as though she had dealt a fatal blow.
  182. >Letting out a final howl, you fell to your side.
  183. >The crowd cheered.
  184. >"Please, don't just thank Trixie," She said, walking back up to the stage, "thank her wonderful assistant, the Anonymous Amnesiac, but you can call him Anon!"
  185. >Corporal Anon.
  186.
  187. >Trixie walked with you to the library, to make sure that you don't get lost.
  188. >Ponyville looked like a European village, one of many that you'd fought the Germans in for years.
  189. >The library was a tree.
  190. >A fucking tree.
  191. >Trixie walked up and knocked on the.
  192. >"I'm not on good terms with the, uh, owner."
  193. >The door opened, a purple pony with a horn and wings inside.
  194. >"Spike told me about your show."
  195. >"Then you heard about Anon then."
  196. >"What do you want Trixie."
  197. "I want to see a couple books or a map." You said. "I want to know where I am."
  198. >"Oh! Of course!" The purple pony said, "Come right in!"
  199. >Both you and Trixie entered, looking around the library.
  200. >The entire tree was hollowed out, and was lined almost to the roof with books.
  201. >Purple pony flew, somehow, up to a section of one of the shelves, looking for geography books.
  202. >You concentrated on a globe off to the side.
  203. "Is this thing right?"
  204. >"Very!" Purple shouted. "I received it straight from Princess Celestia herself!"
  205. "It's not the same one I know."
  206. >She flew up to, looking you in the eyes. "Where are you from?"
  207. "The United States of America."
  208. >"Im sorry Anon, but there is no place in this world that I know of that goes by that name." Purple put a sympathy good on your shoulder.
  209. >"Then how did he get here?" Trixie asked.
  210. >"I don't know." Purple looked around. "SPIKE!"
  211. >A small purple lizard thing came running out from another room.
  212. >"What is it Twilight?"
  213. >"Spike, take a letter. Dear Princess Celestia..."
  214. >As she dictated her letter, You walked over to Trixie.
  215. >"If you'd like, I would be able to care for you until we find a way to send you home." She said.
  216. "What's the catch?" You ask.
  217. >"You become a part of Trixie's show of course." She smiled at you. "That was the best show Trixie has done in a long time!"
  218. >The purple lizard spit a lick of green flame at the letter, burning it.
  219. >"And sent!"
  220. >What kind of fucking place is this.
  221.
  222. >There was a loud crashing sound outside.
  223. >"What was that?" The purple pony, Twilight, shouted.
  224. >Running outside, you saw a horrible beast tearing down a house.
  225. >It was an over sized black bear, it's fur unkempt and blacker than night.
  226. >A pony sent a beam at it, but it shrugged the attack off with no problem.
  227. >Trixie and Twilight joined in the attack, but to no avail.
  228. ~The Tiger tank rolled forward, unshaded by the attempts at taking it down.
  229. ~"Corporal, Wacowski, put some charges in the tracks!" The Captain shouted to you. "We'll cover you!"
  230. ~"Let's go!" Peter said, flanking to the right.
  231. ~You went to the left, the two Kraut guards mowed down by machine gun fire.
  232. >You calmly kneel and equip your Garand.
  233. >You aim down the iron sights at where you estimated where the beasts heart was.
  234. ~You stick a charge to the Tiger's track wheel, set the timer and run.
  235. >You pull the trigger, your shit hitting home.
  236. >The beast turns towards you, and charged.
  237. ~The charge explodes, destroying the Tigers tracks. You run up and climb on top of the Tiger.
  238. ~Wacowski joins you, prying open the hatch as you toss a grenade inside.
  239. >You calmly take aim at the charging monsters face.
  240. >You pull the trigger.
  241.
  242. >The beast fell, it's left eye blown out.
  243. >It's body fell to the ground, it's momentum causing it to slide forward, coming to a stop in front of You.
  244. >You stand, keeping your rifle trained on its face.
  245. >"Anon," Twilight shouted, "What did you do?"
  246. "I stopped it." You said, slinging your rifle over your shoulder.
  247. >"But, you..."
  248. "It was a threat to the civilian populace."
  249. >"But,"
  250. >You walked over to Twilight.
  251. "I am a soldier. I'm trained to protect civilians by any means possible." You point to the beast. "From what I saw, I did a much better job at stopping that thing than you were."
  252. >Trixie stopped forward. "But how?"
  253. "The way I was trained to do; with my rifle."
  254. >Twilight cocked her head in confusion. "You keep saying that you're trained to do this. Why? What kind of place are you from that requires you to take lives on a whim?"
  255. >The little purple lizard ran out, waving a piece of paper. "Twilight, Princess Celestia wants to see you and Anon in Canterlot right away!"
  256. >"I request to come as well!" Trixie stepped forward. "After all, Anon will be staying with me."
  257. >Oh good, you're her servant now. Might as well paint your face black and call yourself a nigger.
  258. >Looking around, you noticed a crowd forming, curious as to not only the attacking beast, but the fiery "thunder stick" of metal and wood that defeated it.
  259. >One minute, you were a barbaric monster in an entertainment show; the next minute, you're a cold blooded here.
  260. "Listen, I'll go, but I won't answer any questions your princess has until she answers mine."
  261. >Like how did you get her, why, and how you will go about getting back home.
  262. >But most importantly, you want to know about the funny little collar that the beast has.
  263. >The collar with a single little tag hanging from it.
  264. >Imprinted on that tag was a symbol that you had seen numerous times across Europe.
  265. >The symbol that was no more than a few simple black lines on a white circle.
  266. >The symbol of evil, hatred, and prejudice.
  267. >The symbol of the Nazi party.
  268. >The Swastica.
  269.
  270. >You looked out the window of the train, watching the landscape change as you passed through.
  271. >You were on your way to Canterlot to visit Princess Celestia and hopefully get some answers as to what is going on with you.
  272. >It was night, and the train was mostly unoccupied, Trixie and Twilight.
  273. >Twilight was sat in the front of the car reading a book and Trixie lay fast asleep in the seat across from you.
  274. >"Anon," Well, she was fast asleep, "I couldn't help but wonder about what Twilight said. What is the place that you're from like?"
  275. > Should you tell her about the war?
  276. >About the death camps?
  277. >About watching your friends get mowed down by machine gun fire at Normandy?
  278. "What do you want to hear?"
  279. >"You said that you're a soldier."
  280. "There're a lot of soldiers."
  281. >"But they're not here. I want to hear about you."
  282. "Well, I'm a Ranger. A division of the U.S. Army. We're given better training than your average soldier."
  283. >"You were at war, yes? Against who?"
  284. "We were at war with two empires; Japan and Germany. I was on the German front."
  285. >"Why."
  286. "December 7, 1941."
  287. >"I don't follow."
  288. >You slide closer to Trixie, angry at her question, forgetting that she wasn't there.
  289. "A bunch of fucking Japs fly in and blow up the majority of a neutral nations harbor, killing fucking civilians and soldiers alike. It's shit like that that leads to war, and that's exactly what it fucking did. A bunch of yellow fucks..."
  290. >You stop, realizing that you've managed to frighten Trixie.
  291. >You go back to looking out the window.
  292. >"For what it's worth," Trixie said, laying back down to sleep, "I am sorry for what happened."
  293. >You glanced back at her.
  294. "You have no idea." You whisper.
  295.
  296. >It was still night by the time that you arrived in what you assumed was Canterlot.
  297. >It was what you had always imagined a medieval city would look like, but less shitty.
  298. >It was bathed in white and purple, colors of purity and royalty.
  299. >Somehow you got the feeling that you would not be able to afford to live here.
  300. >Waiting for you at the station was a group of four ponys, adorned in golden armor.
  301. >They saluted Twilight, ignored Trixie, and surrounded you.
  302. >The one with a horn spoke up. "Hand over the weapon."
  303. "Excuse me?" You raise an eyebrow, clutching the strap on your holstered weapon.
  304. >"Princess Twilight informed Princess Celestia of your thunder stick, so by order of Canterlot Royal..."
  305. "You're not taking my gun."
  306. >"Anon, please," Trixie requested, "let's not make a scene."
  307. >"Would you meet your leaders like this?" Twilight asked.
  308. >You grudgingly hold out your Garand for the soldier ponies.
  309. >The unicorn's horn glowed, and a similar colored glow surrounded your rifle, pulling it from your hand.
  310. "What the fuck..."
  311. >"Its magic Anon." Trixie said. "Tell me you've never seen it before, after all, how else could you made that thunderstick."
  312. >You suddenly found yourself at a disadvantage in a world where magic was not only prevalent, but the norm for its citizens.
  313. >And you?
  314. >You were nothing but an intruder in this strange land.
  315.
  316. >Princess Celestia was much different than any of the other ponies you've met so far.
  317. >She had both wings and a horn, like Twilight, but she was much taller, like an actual horse.
  318. >She was a brilliant white, with flowing mane and tail.
  319. >She also wore a beautiful golden crown and chest piece.
  320. >This wasn't a princess, this was a queen.
  321. >"So this is our new visitor." She said, warm and welcome like the sun, "Tell me, how are yo liking it here."
  322. "No offense ma'am, but I'd like to be back at home."
  323. >"Understandable." She looked at you, almost like she was reading you. "You seem like you have a question."
  324. "I do." You hold out the medallion that you found on the beast. "Why is this here."
  325. >She used magic to levitate it from your hand to in front of her face.
  326. >"I've seen this before..." She said, looking it over.
  327. "How the hell have you seen it before?"
  328. >"Anon, watch your tone!" Twilight said.
  329. >"These have been popping up in the past couple days. I presume that your appearance might be connected."
  330. "There's more?"
  331. >One was weird enough, but more than one meant that there was a lot more going on than you might have be able to handle.
  332. >It could be a coincidence, or it could be a full scale invasion.
  333. >"It appears that the symbol was added after the medallion was created."
  334. >"What does that mean?" Trixie asked.
  335. >"The medallion was created to corrupt beasts with dark magic, the symbol is just a signature on the work."
  336. "But who is signing all this magical crap with a Swastica?"
  337. >"We only know as much as you do."
  338. >None of this made any sense.
  339. >"Twilight, I want you to head back to Ponyville, get your friends and investigate the Everfree Forest."
  340. >Celestia turned to you. "You and Trixie, head to Apploosa. One of the beasts was there."
  341. >"But Princess..." Twilight protested.
  342. >"These two could do a lot for each other, Twilight. I'm sure of it."
  343. >What was that supposed to mean?
  344. >Then again, traveling around with magical pony didn't seem that bad.
  345.
  346. >From what you had gathered, Apploosa was a frontier town, built in a year solely by apple farming "earth" ponies.
  347. >No magic, no flying.
  348. >What was left of the dusty old town was a few wooden buildings, torn apart form an attack.
  349. >Another beast lay sprawled out in the center of the town, torn apart and beaten using primitive means.
  350. >It was also covered in pies.
  351. >The one that you assumed was in charge, Braeburn, wore a cowboy hat and a tanned leather vest.
  352. >"This ole buffalo charged inta town late yesterday mornin." He explained. "Tore the town up. Pies ain't done nothin, so we had ta... Improvise."
  353. >"But I thought that you were at peace with the buffalo." Trixie questioned.
  354. >"They're in the same boat as us. They tried to run ahead and warn us, but he was too fast."
  355. "Do you know why it did this?"
  356. >"I don't rightly know, but," Braeburn pulled a small medallion out of the pocket in his vest, "I found this on his collar."
  357. >It was the same medallion you had in your pocket.
  358. ~"Bloody animals. All of them."
  359. >"Do the buffalo have any information?" Trixie asked.
  360. >"They said that their some of there own have gone missing up in the mountains."
  361. "Well, we'll go there."
  362. >"We best be careful, if the buffalo are worried..."
  363. >You ignored her and started marching towards the mountains, taking a swig from your canteen.
  364. "Rangers lead the way." You whisper.
  365.
  366. >Once again, you found yourself alone at a campfire with Trixie.
  367. >Looking out at the desert from your perch in the mountains, you couldn't help but think of how peaceful this place really is.
  368. >No cities, no cars, no planes.
  369. >Just towns and nature.
  370. >Even the cities that you've seen fit into the world around them, as they grew to be a part of it, rather than separate themselves from the world.
  371. >But most importantly, there wasn't any war.
  372. >You looked over at Trixie as she slept, her hooves tucked under her chin like a cat.
  373. >She was using her purple cape like a blanket, her hat resting next to her.
  374. >You had to admit, it was pretty cute.
  375. >Which made the next part of your plan even harder.
  376. >You got up, picked up your rifle, and walked away, leaving her all alone in by the fire.
  377. >You hid behind a nearby rock, keeping Trixie and the fire in sight.
  378. >And you waited.
  379. >And waited.
  380. >And waited.
  381. >After an hour, a couple creatures resembling dogs snuck into the light of the fire.
  382. >There was three of them, and they surrounded Trixie in her sleep.
  383. >As silently as you could, you equipped your rifle, ready to spring into action.
  384. >In a flash, they swept her up in a sack.
  385. >She woke up immediately, kicking and cursing them.
  386. >Throwing the squirming sack over its shoulder, the dogs ran off into the night.
  387. >You gave chase, being sure to stay out of sight.
  388. >Whatever they were, they weren't fast, and you had to struggle to stay behind them.
  389. >Soon, the chase led you to a mineshaft in the mountains.
  390. >Carefully, you followed them down, making sure that you weren't being flanked.
  391. >Eventually you found a massive room filled with the cages and dogs.
  392. >Inside the cages were various creatures, from ponies to buffalo.
  393. >But in the center of the room, was a unicorn pony wearing a sharp, black uniform accompanied by a familiar red armband on the left foreleg.
  394. >Hiding behind some boxes, you rethought your plan to save Trixie and the others.
  395. >"Careful with her, the Kommandant will want the Unicorn."
  396. >Kommandant?
  397. >If what you were thinking was correct, then you needed to get Trixie and the other prisoners out of here.
  398.
  399. >You knew that you were outnumbered, but you also knew that a lot of lives were at stake.
  400. >You knew what you had to do.
  401. ~The German sniper was on the third floor of the building up ahead.
  402. ~You jumped into the burned out house your squad was pinned down behind, climbing up to the second floor.
  403. ~Slowly you crawl up to the window, giving you a safe shot.
  404. ~Private Smith ran out, distracting the sniper.
  405. >You climbed out from behind your cover of boxes, taking aim at the uniformed pony.
  406. ~You only had one shot.
  407. >You only have one shot.
  408. ~You pulled the trigger
  409. >You pull the trigger.
  410. ~The sniper falls, his helmet flying up.
  411. >The pony spins, his rear end hit.
  412. >The dogs scattered, scared of the loud noise. You fired a couple of shots off after them, just to be sure.
  413. ~"Everyone move up!"
  414. >You approach the uniformed pony, blood seeping from his wound and soaking his uniform.
  415. >"Wh-Who..." He stammered, in shock from the wound.
  416. "Who the fuck are you?"
  417. >"Unterführer C-Coal Dust."
  418. "Where did you get this uniform."
  419. >He didn't answer.
  420. >You drew your sidearm and put him out of his misery.
  421. >You began the long process of freeing the captives by first letting Trixie go.
  422. >"I could have escaped on my own." She said, trying to downplay your rescue. "You're just lucky that Diamond Dogs don't like loud noises."
  423. "You're lucky that they only abducted you."
  424. >Trixie raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean."
  425. "Well, they could have killed you. But knowing them, that's too easy. And it sounded like they really liked you."
  426. >Trixie's eyes widened as her mind went to dark places.
  427. >Both yourself and Trixie freed the rest of the prisoners, most of which were starving or sick.
  428. >But before leaving, you searched the SS pony's pockets for anything that might help.
  429. >There was a letter from a place called Manehatten, complete with a full address and name of the recipient.
  430.
  431. >You sat in a Manehattan cafe with Trixie, sipping on a cup of coffee.
  432. >The address you were looking for les you to a building that recently caught fire, the specific apartment being the source of the fire.
  433. >"What a coincidence." Trixie had said.
  434. >And now you were out of luck.
  435. >In a city filled with ponies, whoever you were after could be anywhere, and see you coming from a mile away.
  436. >So you decided to take a break from following the trail and enjoy the rest of the.
  437. >"I always loved Manehattan at night." Trixie said. "All the lights, it's like a never ending fireworks show."
  438. "Had a city like this back home, called New York. I always wanted to visit it."
  439. >"Well, we can take a look at the sites, and probably search for any clues." Trixie suggested.
  440. >It sounded like an excuse, but you needed to relax anyway.
  441. >You and Trixie walked through the big city admiring the sights.
  442. >You were amazed at how little the ponies around you cared at how different you looked.
  443. >But in a world of magic and talking animals, strange was probably expected.
  444. >"Stop." Someone shouted out to you.
  445. >It was one of those armored guard ponies from Canterlot.
  446. >"This is a letter from Princess Celestia." He said, pulling a letter out of a bag on his side.
  447. >It stated that you were on a royal mission from the Princess herself, and that any expenses were to be covered by the Royal treasury.
  448. >You were just given a free pass to buy whatever you wanted on the Princess dime.
  449. >"The Princess trusts that you'll use this wisely." And he flew away.
  450. >"Do you know what this means Anon?" Trixie asked.
  451. "Everything is free from here on out?"
  452. >"Not just that," She said, "We're now Royal agents!"
  453. "I don't follow."
  454. >"The Princess has entrusted us with a super important mission!" She was almost jumping in glee. "Few ponies have this kind of opportunity!"
  455. >It sounded like you were a member of the pony version of the FBI.
  456. >But you had Royal authority backing you, and you didn't want to waste it trivial expenses.
  457. "Where do we start first then?"
  458. >"Why, only at the grandest of hotels!"
  459. >You know, the important things.
  460.
  461. >For a bunch of ponies, they sure knew how to make a room comfortable.
  462. >You and Trixie decided to get a large suite, that way in case someone tried something, it would be easier to stick together.
  463. >Not to mention, it was much better than sleeping in mats and trains.
  464. >Looking out the large window in the room, you couldn't help but admire the beautiful Manehattan skyline in the sunset.
  465. >The massive steel and concrete buildings shown with radiance in the sinking sunlight.
  466. >But the one thing that you loved the most was that there were no squadrons of bombers coming to level the city.
  467. >This world was peaceful, accepting.
  468. >Unlike yours.
  469. >You almost wanted to stay, but you knew that you shouldn't.
  470. >But, it seems like you have no choice for now.
  471. >Maybe if you found out more about...
  472. >"Anon! I'm ordering room service! What do you want to eat." Trixie shout from her room.
  473. >Your stomach grumbles at that.
  474. >When was the last time you had eaten?
  475. >Well, no better time than now.
  476.
  477. I'm gonna try to make flashback dream. I'm gonna try to make it different than Anons usual flashbacks.
  478.
  479. >You fell asleep shortly after dinner.
  480. >But sleep was an understatement.
  481. >You were dreaming, and it was not good.
  482. >You were back in the LCA landing craft, chugging across the English Channel towards the Omaha Beachhead.
  483. >You looked around at the young faces all around you, and you knew that they were not going to make it.
  484. >Mortars screeched across the sky, splashing into the waters around you.
  485. >Machine gun fire was closer now, the sounds of craft ahead of you hitting the beach.
  486. >You gripped your rifle tighter.
  487. >Somebody coughed.
  488. >Bullets began pinging off of the craft as it approached the beach.
  489. >Touchdown, the hatch opened
  490. >Already, a good amount of the men in the craft with you were gunned down.
  491. >You charges out, firing at any target that you saw fit.
  492. >Throwing yourself to the ground to avoid the machine gun fire, you notice something.
  493. >Trixie was there on the beach with your fellow soldiers.
  494. >She was charging, firing her magic beans at the Germans.
  495. >She was going to get herself killed.
  496. "Trixie!" You shout, "Get down!"
  497. >She couldn't hear you.
  498. >You charge over to her, risking your life to make sure hers doesn't get taken.
  499. >Suddenly, the black beast from Ponyville charged over the German line, trampling American soldiers.
  500. >It swatted Trixie out of its way effortlessly, and turned its gaze towards you.
  501. >Trixie wasn't moving, and neither could you.
  502. >You were frozen.
  503. >This wasn't how it happened.
  504. >This wasn't right.
  505. >You lived.
  506. >You were still alive.
  507. >You were alive.
  508. >You were.
  509. >"Anon, wake up!"
  510. >You sat up in the bed, your left side in pain.
  511. >"You were shouting so loud that I could hear you in the the other room." Trixie said. "Are you all right?"
  512. >Were you all right?
  513. "I'm fine."
  514. >"Are you sure?"
  515. "I'm. Fine."
  516. >"If you say so." And she left.
  517. >But were you fine?
  518. >Were you really?
  519.
  520. >That dream had shaken you up.
  521. >Sure, you had dreams like that before, but this one was much more different.
  522. >What really shook you, was how differently you felt afterward.
  523. >It was the first time since you've gotten here that your side was in pain, and it's the first time that you really questioned your reason for being here.
  524. >Why are you here?
  525. >How exactly did you get here?
  526. >These are questions that may never be answered.
  527. >Unless you finally figure out why there are Swasticas and Nazi ponies here.
  528. >But what if there was no real explanation.
  529. >What if this was all a dream?
  530. >What if you're unconscious on a battlefield somewhere, your squad trying wake you up?
  531. >There were too many unknowns.
  532. >You missed the war, it was much more simple.
  533. >Your enemy was the guy shooting at you.
  534. >But even that was no as simple after thinking about it.
  535. >Nothing ever is.
  536. >"Are you just going to stare at your food?" Trixie asked. "Should I leave you two alone?"
  537. "No, I-I'm fine."
  538. >"You've been saying that an awful lot." Trixie took a sip from some orange juice she was levitating. "And I don't think it's me that you're trying to convince."
  539. "I don't know what's wrong."
  540. >"And that necessitates being 'fine'?"
  541. "I don't know."
  542. >"Well, whatever your problem is, you better deal with it. You're the only one with an idea of what's going on, and now you're going insane."
  543. "I have no idea what is going on!"
  544. >"You know better than I do, that's for sure. So get over it. From what I see, there's a problem bigger than how you feel!"
  545. >You sighed and looked back at your breakfast. Trixie rolled her eyes and went to her room.
  546. >Trixie was right. You need to get over it.
  547. >Answers come in time.
  548. >Hopefully, they'll come soon.
  549.
  550. >Once again, you and Trixie wandered around Manehattan for the day.
  551. >You followed clues to dead ends, the trail getting colder by the hour.
  552. >Disheartened, you both retreated back to the hotel you were staying at.
  553. >The receptionist at the front desk called you over.
  554. >"Some ponies in snazzy black uniforms came looking for you guys." She said.
  555. "What did you tell them?"
  556. >"I gave them your room number. Said you were out."
  557. "Did they leave?"
  558. >"Not that I saw."
  559. >You were going to have guests.
  560. >You and Trixie took the stairs, knowing that they might be waiting for you at the elevator.
  561. >Carefully, you two ascended the flights to your floor.
  562. >Pistol ready, you crept down the hallway.
  563. >No movement.
  564. >Where were they?
  565. >You had Trixie use her magic to open the door so you both not stand in front of the door as it opened,
  566. >The main room was clear.
  567. >Two ponies in black uniforms with red armbands popped out from your room, levitating rifles.
  568. >German Gewehr rifles.
  569. >"Weapons down, hands up, and no magic." The tan one ordered.
  570. >Were the weapons loaded?
  571. >They must be if they had made them.
  572. >You slowly placed your pistol on the ground, and slid your Rifle off your shoulder and on the floor.
  573. "Who are you?"
  574. >"We're here to stop you." Said the green pony.
  575. >"We've already sacrificed our Manehattan office to throw you off, we're not going to lose anymore."
  576. >"What are you doing?" Trixie looking around for someway to fight back.
  577. >"We're working to establish a new world."
  578. "Oh don't start with this master race bullshit."
  579. >"And that's why you need to die." Tan pony said.
  580.
  581. >Trixie used her magic to pull the trigger on your rifle.
  582. >The sound of the shot startled the two untrained ponies, and Trixie as well.
  583. >But you were used to it.
  584. >You picked up your rifle, firing another shot.
  585. >You hit the green pony in the chest, severely wounding him.
  586. >Tan pony ducked back into the room.
  587. >Trixie teleported into the room while you were reloading.
  588. >She tackled the pony, both of them falling to the ground.
  589. >They struggled in a heaping mess, both moving too much for you to get a clean shot.
  590. >Tan pony head butted, but she responded by hitting him in the face with a hoof.
  591. >You ran over and butted him with your rifle, knocking him out cold.
  592. >These ponies were equipped like soldiers, but they were not trained to fight a real soldier.
  593. >Especially not a Ranger.
  594. >Trixie stood got up, shaking her head.
  595. "You alright?"
  596. >"I'm fine."
  597. >You smiled for the first time that day.
  598. >"This is a new... experience for me."
  599. "Nobody is ever ready for their first fight."
  600. >"Maybe you can tell me about how yours went, then."
  601. "This was nothing compared to Normandy." You said. "But we've got bigger problems at the moment."
  602. >"Maybe our new friend can help us with them."
  603. "After we explain the banging to the hotel staff that is."
  604. >"Well just have the Princess pay for all the damages." Trixie began tying up the unconscious tan pony.
  605.
  606. >Trixie waved away the Manehattan police with the letter from Celestia.
  607. >They left you two alone with your new friend.
  608. "Back home, we have rules and people trained for the ethical treatment of prisoners."
  609. >The tan pony just blinked at you.
  610. "Unfortunately for you, we're not there, and I'm trained for that kind of work."
  611. >You punched the pony, his head snapping back.
  612. >Tied to a chair, he had no where to go.
  613. "Let's start with something easy, who are you."
  614. >Silence. You hit him again.
  615. "Talk."
  616. >Still silent. While a terrible soldier, the pony did know how to keep mum.
  617. >You hit him again. And again.
  618. >"Is that all you've got?" He spat.
  619. "I know what you're doing. I've seen prisoners do it all the time. You want me to kill you. But I won't give you that pleasure."
  620. >He turned his head away.
  621. >You hit him again.
  622. "Do you know what you're fighting for?"
  623. >The silence was deafening.
  624. >The sound of your hand slamming his face was too.
  625. "Do you?"
  626. >"The master race. A purification of all pony kind."
  627. "Do you even know what that means?"
  628. >"The unicorns shall take their rightful place as the rulers of Equestria."
  629. "And do you know how the people you're supporting will go about doing that?"
  630. >He was silent again. But this time, out of ignorance.
  631. "Here, let me show you."
  632. >You walked over to the door, letting Trixie in.
  633. "I think it's time our friend here took a shower."
  634.
  635. >You threw the pony into the shower as though he were a rag doll.
  636. >Tossing a bar of soap at him, you made a sound of disgust.
  637. "Wash up asshole."
  638. >Confused, the tan pony began squirming.
  639. >On queue, Trixie began a using a magic spell to choke the tan pony.
  640. "You see, I've been in the camps, you haven't."
  641. >The pony looked at you, fear in his eyes.
  642. "I've seen what your friends are capable of doing."
  643. >Inb4 the Holocaust was a lie
  644. >Inb4 Hitler did nothing wrong
  645. "The poor, starving people were thrown into a shower, and gassed."
  646. >The tan pony began to lose color in his face.
  647. >Trixie stopped her spell.
  648. >Tan pony gasped and coughed as air went back into his lungs.
  649. "You have no idea what you're fighting for. You have no idea what the Nazis are, do you? You're just some kid that decided to join a funny little club."
  650. >"Happy Farms distribution center." He gasped. "Tomorrow night."
  651. "I knew you'd see things my way."
  652. >"Happy Farms?" Trixie said. "I think they make farming equipment."
  653. "Do they work with metal there?"
  654. >"Lots I believe."
  655.
  656. >You couldn't help but think about what you were doing.
  657. >You had just beaten the shit out of a horse dressed like the Gestapo, and shot to death two others.
  658. >And you were lost in a land where magic was normal and nobody gave you a second look for being different.
  659. >With no way home, you were being forced to solve the mystery of why...
  660. >What was that?
  661. >There a slight thud.
  662. >Almost like far off artillery.
  663. >Did the ponies have that?
  664. >Another thud.
  665. "Trixie, do you hear that?"
  666. >"Yes, what is it."
  667. >Not good.
  668. >It sounded like it was getting closer.
  669. >There was a knocking at the door.
  670. >It was a Manehattan police pony.
  671. >"We're evacuating the city."
  672. "What? Why?"
  673. >"Just go!"
  674. >You made your way down to the lobby, where you saw police in the streets direct the ponies in one direction.
  675. >Confusion was in the air as the thudding got louder.
  676. >You reached a rally point in an airport like area.
  677. >Demanding to see who was in charge, you were taken to Twilight and the police chief.
  678. >"Anon, we were investigating and we saw them enchant a Dragon."
  679. "A what?"
  680. >There was an explosion off in the city.
  681. >Something was tearing down buildings.
  682. >Something strong enough to tear down a steel building was definitely not going to be stopped by your lowly Garand.
  683. "What do you plan on doing about this?"
  684. >"Evacuate the city."
  685. >"Then what?" Trixie asked.
  686. >"I don't know."
  687. >Manehattan was fucked.
  688. >Equestria was fucked.
  689. >You were fucked.
  690. >Everuthing was fucked.
  691. >And there was nothing you could do to stop it.
  692.
  693. >"Well hello there, Herr Anon."
  694. >You turned around to find another one of the Gestapo ponies.
  695. >"I'm glad that we can finally have a chance to talk in civility."
  696. "Civility?"
  697. >"Civility?" Trixie said.
  698. >"Civility?" Twilight said.
  699. >"Yes, I believe we got off on the wrong hoof."
  700. "That's and overstatement, your men tried to kill me and Trixie!"
  701. >"They acted outside of my best wishes." He said, his voice like silk. "I'm assuming they received the punishment they deserved."
  702. >Damn right they did.
  703. >"What are you doing here now?" Twilight asked. "Don't you think you've done enough."
  704. >"The dragon was an... Experiment that we're here to put an end to."
  705. "And how do you plan on doing that?"
  706. >"The weapons of your world are very effective on the creatures of ours."
  707. "What. Are. You. Doing."
  708. >"Just watch." He smiled.
  709. >Looking out at the city, you saw the shape of a massive black beast smashing buildings.
  710. >But then, you saw something much smaller, and much more scary.
  711. >"Citizens of Manehattan!" The Gestapo pony shouted. "Watch as this fearsome beast is put down."
  712. >What looked like mechanical contraptions to the ponies, were moving up and down the Manhattan streets, towed by the buffalo slaves from Appaloosa.
  713. >To you, they were Panzer tanks, moving in a formation to attack the beast from multiple sides.
  714. >This was it.
  715. >Equestria was more fucked now than it was before.
  716. >The tanks fired their guns at the beast.
  717. >Shells slammed the beast, causing it to roar in pain.
  718. >"Watch as your friends of the Equestria Nazi party aid you through this darkest of times."
  719. >The beast fell after another volley, the attack catching it off guard.
  720. >This was it, you've lost.
  721. >"Support us as we sweep across this nation, saving the land from these horrible, and undesirable, beasts."
  722. >Could this really be it?
  723. >Is your mission coming to an end so quickly?
  724. >No.
  725. >You know that they're the ones behind this
  726. >The crowd cheered for the Nazi pony.
  727. >"See Herr Anon. Civility."
  728. "I will stop you."
  729. >"Not if the people have anything to say about it."
  730. >He walked away, chuckling to himself.
  731.
  732. >You watched as the Nazi pony walked away.
  733. >You wanted to shoot him.
  734. >You wanted him dead.
  735. >But not with the people on his side.
  736. >"Anon, what just happened?" Twilight was astonished at what just happened.
  737. "Tanks. German Panzers. Heavy vehicles meant to take down heavy targets."
  738. >"We can stop those, right?" Trixie asked.
  739. "We'll need explosives or another tank."
  740. >Something that you didn't have much of.
  741. >"They're powered by the buffalo, maybe if we..." Twilight stopped.
  742. "Killed them? I'm sure that's what they expect. Maybe even want us to do."
  743. >"How is murdering innocents part of a plan?" Twilight asked.
  744. "It's been so far. If they have the ammo and schematics for a Panzer, than they have the fuel to run it without being towed."
  745. >"So is that why they've been meeting at that farm equipment factory?" Trixie asked.
  746. >"It makes sense..." Twilight tapped a hood on her chin. "After all, metal work like that would be unsuspicious in a metal working factory."
  747. >"No doubt being made by the slaves they had in the cave in Appaloosa."
  748. "Sounds like the Germany back home."
  749. >"And how did you stop them?"
  750. "We didn't. Not yet, anyway. We were clear before I came here."
  751. >"The Princess needs to know what's going on. Now."
  752. >"No! We need to find out how how how they're accomplishing all of this!" Trixie said.
  753.
  754. >You needed to know what was going.
  755. >No more fucking around, you were going to end this.
  756. "Twilight, you can go to the Princess. We're going to investigate that factory."
  757. >"What? By yourselves?"
  758. "Be careful, Our new friends might want to keep you quiet. There's no telling what they will do."
  759. >"But-"
  760. >You already started walking back into the city, Trixie following close behind.
  761. >It wasn't hard to find the factory, after all, it was recently decorated with the signature red Swastica flag and patrolled by armed guards.
  762. >You were stopped by one of the gaurds, a purple mare with an air of authority.
  763. >She was not a Unicorn.
  764. >"You must be Herr Anon." She said.
  765. "Who wants to know?"
  766. >The urge to shoot the enemy before you was unbearable.
  767. >"Obbergruppenführer Wave Crest knew that you would come and has requested that to take you to him."
  768. >"He knew?" Trixie asked.
  769. >"He will explain more. I have bee ordered to escort you through to his office."
  770. >The purple mare in black SS garb led both you and Trixie around the building to an entrance in the back.
  771. >The entrance opened up to the offices of the regions SS head officers.
  772. >At the very top floor was Wave Crest's office.
  773. >Inside was the blue unicorn that you back at the evacuation area.
  774. >"I'm glad to see that you decided to come and visit us, Herr Anon and Frau Trixie."
  775. "Cut the shit, what is going on here?"
  776. >"We're simply working towards the betterment of Equestria."
  777. >"By unleashing beasts and slaughtering civilians so you can play hero?" Trixie fumed. "I know an act when I see one!"
  778. >"I honestly don't know what you are talking about."
  779. "Cut the shit."
  780. >You reached for your pistol.
  781. >"Herr Anon, I can assure you that those beasts are simply experiments of Obergruppenführer Grape Vine's Wunderwaffe-"
  782. "They have your people's name written all over them!"
  783. >"We have proof that your people were behind the dragon beast!"
  784. >He actually looked shocked at that.
  785. >"Do you have this proof with you?" He asked.
  786. >"We don't, but somepony else does." Trixie looked to you.
  787. "Twilight has it."
  788. >"Princess Sparkle?" Wave Crest tapped his chin. "I am interested, but I please ask that you leave now. Maybe we can speak some other time, no?"
  789. "Something come up?"
  790. >"Interviews mostly. I am the head of our Panzerkampfwagen section that put down the beast."
  791. "I've got my eye on you."
  792. >"And I as well, Herr Anon."
  793.
  794. >"I don't believe that he knows what's really going on."
  795. "He's lying."
  796. >"I can tell when someone is putting on an act. He most certainly doesn't know anything."
  797. >If Trixie was right, and the higher ups in the organization were lying to Wave Crest, then you might be a possible ally.
  798. "If you're right, then we need to prove that he's bowman used."
  799. >"He mentioned who the pony behind the experiments is."
  800. >Obergruppenführer Grape Vine.
  801. >Wunderwaffe.
  802. >Obviously, they were creating the beasts across the country, but they had to be working on more than just that.
  803. >No doubt they have a prototypes of the Panzer tanks and the Gewhrer rifles.
  804. >And God only knows what else they have inside.
  805. >You wouldn't be surprised if they were building Luftwaffe airplanes.
  806. >"What do you think we should do?"
  807. "We try to get some proof for Wave Crest."
  808. >"But how? Where can we even find her?"
  809. >Good question.
  810. >Then you remembered your new friend that you had a nice chat with earlier.
  811. "I have idea as to what we can do, but first, we should go back and ask a few more questions to the fellow back at the hotel."
  812. >That was the easy part.
  813. >You couldn't help but regret that the next step was to throw Trixie back into the lion's den.
  814.
  815. >Trixie marched towards the front entrance to the building, decorated with the red flags.
  816. >On the outside, she was confident and intimidating, the sharp uniform demanding the respect of the ponies around her.
  817. >On the inside, she was desperately hoping that it the plan worked.
  818. >After Anon had beaten the location of the Wunderwaffe experiments out of the tan pony, he later out the plan that he had to provide proof to Wave Crest.
  819. >Trixie was going to go in to the building alone to get something that could possibly help.
  820. >And hopefully not get captured.
  821. >The front guards stopped her, aiming a rifle at her.
  822. >"Who are you and why are you here." She ordered.
  823. >"Sturmscharführer Lulamoon" Trixie said, holding out her right foreleg in a convincingly strong salute. "I bring a message from Obergruppenführer Wave Crest for Obergruppenführer Grape Vine."
  824. >Please fall for it.
  825. >"So be it."
  826. >Trixie entered the building, passing the point of no return.
  827. >This was it; steal some files or notes and get back to Anon.
  828. >But what was important?
  829. >Most everything here was written in a different language.
  830. >Trixie had no concept of what was or wasn't important here.
  831. >Many of the guards were Unicorns, but the higher up, unarmed officers were Earth ponies.
  832. >Not a Pegasus in sight.
  833. >Trixie found a room that just gave her a feeling.
  834. >She nonchalantly entered the room as if that was where she intended to go all along.
  835. >Only one pony gave her a second look, although that look may have been at her behind.
  836. >She had to admit, the uniform did fit her just fine.
  837. >Inside the room was what appeared to be information on the corruption medallions, even what seemed to be a layout of where they would be released.
  838. >Trixie gathered the information that appeared important to her.
  839. >Somepony cleared their throat behind her.
  840. >She was found out.
  841.
  842. >Trixie turned, trying to appear official.
  843. >There was an Earth Pony officer. Standing in the door way.
  844. >It was the pony that had checked her out in the hallway.
  845. >"What are you doing in here Frauline?" He demanded
  846. >"I am Stu-"
  847. >"I did not ask your name, I asked what you are doing."
  848. >Oh no.
  849. >"I'm gathering notes for Ober-"
  850. >"You do not have permission for those notes. You are not a member of my team on this project. What. Are. You. Doing."
  851. >"I was given permission by-"
  852. >"You told the guard that you are here to deliver a message to the Obergruppenführer."
  853. >"I did no-"
  854. >"Where is your identification."
  855. >"I don't-"
  856. >"Cutie Mark." He ordered. "Now."
  857. >Oh no.
  858. >Trixie moved the uniform to reveal her Cutie Mark.
  859. >"Ah, Frau Trixie." He said. "Glad to finally meet you."
  860. >What?
  861. >"I've been a fan of yours for a good time now."
  862. >He shut the door, approaching Trixie.
  863. >"Always a pleasure to meet a fan." Trixie said, trying to stay calm.
  864. >"No, the pleasure is all mine."
  865. >Wait, what?
  866. >"I should have you killed, but I believe that we can arrange to make a deal, no?"
  867. >Trixie did not trust the pony's smile.
  868. >"What, pray tell might that be?"
  869. >"Here, allow me to show you."
  870. >Trixie wished that Anon was there.
  871.
  872. >No.
  873. >Nonononono
  874. >Trixie knew enough about anatomy to know that the stallion had no intention of beating her.
  875. >At least, not at first.
  876. >Trixie began to back up until she hit the wall.
  877. >"You going the wrong direction, mein freund."
  878. >Trixie couldn't shoot him, she'll alert the whole building to her presence.
  879. >Teleportation might cause her to end up in a place that will get her in even more trouble.
  880. >Calling for help was out of the question, as it just called the guards over to arrest her.
  881. >"You'll be fine, Frau Trixie." He said, running a hoof on across her cheek.
  882. >Trixie made a snap decision.
  883. >"The Great and Powerful Trixie is not your personal pin cushion!"
  884. >Trixie delivered a swift left hook to the stallions face, stunning him.
  885. >She pushed past him, running to the door and hoping for a miracle.
  886. >The pony swiveled and grabbed the end of her tail with his teeth, trying to pull her back.
  887. >Trixie bucked him in the mouth, causing him to let go.
  888. >She through herself against the metal door to attract attention, hoping her plan worked.
  889. >The stallion jumped on top of Trixie, knocking her to the ground.
  890. >"Alright hündin, nopony is coming to save you." The stallion said, looking at the door.
  891.
  892. >Is this what Anon had saved Trixie from in the Apploosian mountain cave?
  893. >Trixie had always feared something like this in her life as a traveling magician.
  894. >And now it was going to happen.
  895. >The stallion prepared himself for the act, taking position.
  896. >The door opened, a purple, earth pony mare standing in uniform, and none too happy.
  897. >"Oberführer!" She shouted. "What is going on in here!"
  898. >"Obergruppenführer Grape Vine!" The stallion was caught in the act by his commanding officer.
  899. >"I'm growing tired of your scheiße!"
  900. >"But-"
  901. >"Enough of your excuses!" She was getting angrier as she spoke. "Your acts with the subjects was barely tolerable, but with a member of the party? I'm putting my hoof down!"
  902. >The stallion stepped off of Trixie, his turn to back away and hide.
  903. >"She-"
  904. >"She is another victim of your vile libido! I asked you to escort her to my office! Not escort her to your penis!"
  905. >The Oberführer shrank as he was berated.
  906. >The Grape Vine turned to two guards in the hallway. "Take him away."
  907. >After he was gone, the Grape Vine turned to Trixie.
  908. >"I will speak with you in my office."
  909.
  910. >Grape Vine sat at her desk, placed in front of a very large Swastica flag.
  911. >"Normally I would have you file a report and make a statement, but this time, I'm not even going to bother with him."
  912. >"This isn't the first time he's done this?" Trixie asked, still a little shaken.
  913. >"Usually it's with one of the subjects in the lower levels, so I can't say I could do much."
  914. >"What will you do with him now?"
  915. >"Make sure he never violates another mare again."
  916. >Death didn't sound like an option.
  917. >Too many possibilities, all too good for him.
  918. >"But, that is now in the past, and I heard that you bring a message from Obergruppenführer Wave Crest, nein?"
  919. >Trixie had, understandably, almost forgotten her task.
  920. >"Oh, yes, apologies."
  921. >Trixie struggled to piece together a message, her brain struggling to stay on a single track.
  922. >"Obergruppenführer Wave Creat wishes to know more about the progress on your beast project and when it will-"
  923. >Grape Vine slammed a hoof on her desk.
  924. >"No offense, mein freund, but tell that pompous ass to keep his nosy blue muzzle out of mein Wunderwaffe!"
  925. >The message had touched a nerve, and confirmed to Trixie that Wave Crest knew nothing about the beasts.
  926. >"He does nothing but complain about the prototype Tiger program, the prototype Luftwaffe program... He should stay out of mein work and concentrate on the task that the Oberst-Gruppenführer has given him!"
  927. >Under her breath she added "He's lucky to have that."
  928. >"I will... Relay your message." Trixie gave a shaky salute.
  929. >Grape Vine sighed, bringing a hoof to her face.
  930. >"Would you like an escort out?"
  931. >From the sound of it, she probably should have had one in as well.
  932. >"That would be... Nice."
  933.
  934. >Trixie came back to the building in Dodge City that you were hiding out in.
  935. >Her uniform was ruffled, her mane and tail was mess.
  936. >It looked like she had gotten attacked.
  937. "What happened?"
  938. >"I- I got the information."
  939. >She put down some paper covered in German writing.
  940. "Are you all right?"
  941. >"I'm fine."
  942. "No you're not."
  943. >You reached out in an attempt to comfort her.
  944. >She swatted you away.
  945. >"I'm fine!"
  946. "You sound like me."
  947. >She looked away, beginning to remove the uniform.
  948. >You say and watched her.
  949. "Hill four hundred."
  950. >Trixie stopped to look at you. "What?"
  951. "Hill four hundred. Lost a good friend there."
  952. >You remembered the letter from Peter Wacowski to his father.
  953. >Trixie stopped to listen.
  954. "Hill 400 was a German artillery position in the Hürtgen Forest. Our job as Rangers to capture that hill and hold it. The entire hill provided a view point of the entire forest, allowing the Krauts a viewpoint of our forces throughout the entire forest."
  955. >"And your friend?"
  956. "Bullet through the lung. He died in my arms as I tried to drag him to a medic. He gave me a letter to give his father."
  957. >You showed Trixie Peter's letter.
  958. "That's what I've been through, Trixie. I've watched good men blown apart and die choking on their own blood. Mines and tanks and bombs and bullets."
  959. >Trixie started to say something.
  960. >"One of the ponies inside, he-"
  961. "Don't worry about it. As long as you're still alive, just keep moving and make sure whatever happened doesn't hold you back."
  962.
  963. >On your way to the train station, you were stopped by a Canterlot guard, saying that you were being called back to the castle right away.
  964. >Sounding urgent, you and Trixie made a detour back to Canterlot right away.
  965. >The entire ride was quiet, neither of you speaking.
  966. >You were personally escorted to the Princess, your weapons confiscated again.
  967. >"I'm glad you made it here before they did." Twilight said, before you entered the main throne room.
  968. >They?
  969. >The Princess didn't appear as though there were any pressing matters.
  970. >"You are aware of the current situation, no?" She asked.
  971. >"Only what we've seen ourselves." Trixie said.
  972. >"Manehattan was the big show, but this new party has been making its presence known all across Equestria, winning the hearts of ponies everywhere."
  973. >That sounds familiar.
  974. >The court announcer introduced a new party.
  975. >"Oberst-Groopinfurvor-" He struggled with the unfamiliar word.
  976. >"It's Oberst-Gruppenführer, schwein." The white earth pony corrected.
  977. >The blonde pony wore a much sharper and ornate uniform than her two Obergruppenführer escorts.
  978. >"Good afternoon, mein princess." She introduced her self with a swift bow.
  979. >Celestia nodded to the pony. "Good afternoon to you ass well, miss...?"
  980. >"Now where are mein manners?" She chuckled. "I am the Oberst-Gruppenführer of the Equestrian Schutzstaffel of the National Socialist German Workers party."
  981. >Was the introduction really necessary?
  982. >"But you can just call me Oberst-Gruppenführer Aryanne. I'd like to talk to you about the recent happenings across Equestria, if you don't mind."
  983.
  984. >"I think I've met her before." Trixie whispered to you.
  985. >Aryanne spoke up, demanding the attention of the entire room.
  986. >"Mein Princess, I'm sure that you are aware of the recent emergence of fearsome beasts all across Equestria."
  987. >"I'm aware that you played a part in their creation."
  988. >Aryanne pretended to be shocked. "Nein! Obergruppenführer Grape was attempting to tame them for some sort of recreational use!"
  989. >"Recreational use?"
  990. >"Beasts of burden. Replace the hard work done by the Earth ponies."
  991. >"And you wanted to breed them for this role?" Celestia raised an eyebrow.
  992. >"Of course! But, alas, they cannot be controlled."
  993. >"I didn't notice." Celestia rooked her eyes. The rest of the room chuckled.
  994. >"What I am suggesting is an opportunity to right our wrong and dispose of these beasts properly."
  995. >"And how do you propose doing that?"
  996. >"We, the National Socialist German Workers party, have the effective tools to properly deal with these abominations."
  997. >"And you need my permission to do so?"
  998. >"Nein! I am offering to have your forces properly trained and equipped to combat this threat!"
  999. >And spread their message throughout the nation with the princess's blessing.
1000. >"So you want control of Equestria's army?"
1001. >"Only with your permission, mein Princess." Aryanne took a bow.
  1002. >Celestia took a moment to think.
1003. >Was she actually considering this bitch's proposition?
1004. >Was Equestria really to suffer the same fate of Germany?
1005. >"I will need some time to mull it over."
  1006. >Oh thank god.
1007. >"Of course, mein Princess. Such decisions are not to be made so quickly."
1008. >Aryanne and her two escorts turned and left.
1009. >At that moment, you wished you put a bullet into her white flank as it retreated out of the throne room.
  1010.
1011. >The door to the throne room shut.
1012. "Don't you dare believe a single fucking word that she said!"
  1013. >You couldn't believe that damn pony.
1014. >She was using the beasts as pawn in a scheme. She had to be.
  1015. >"Without proper evidence-"
1016. >You held out the bates that Trixie stole from the Wunderwaffe.
1017. >Most of the notes were in English, but the parts that looked important were in German.
1018. >You just hoped that the Germaniegh and Germany had similar languages.
1019. >Celestia levitated the notes over and began reading them.
1020. >"Most of this, we already know."
  1021. >No shit.
1022. >"However, this other language is bit more difficult to understand."
1023. "It's German, Trixie got the notes from their research base."
1024. >"The language looks similar to Germaniegh, but I'll need some time to translate."
1025. >"We don't have time!" Trixie shouted. "They're animals! They destroyed pars of Manehattan to prove their strength! They've enslaved the Buffalo to power their vehicles!"
1026. >"Trixie's right!" Twilight added. "I saw them place one of those medallions on the dragon. They can't be trusted."
  1027. >Celestia raised a hoof.
1028. >"I understand your concerns, but for now, I must do what's best for my little ponies."
1029. "Are you insane? They're going to come looking to take your crown, wether you like it or not."
1030. >"I know the dangers, but the rest of Equestria does not. They see helpful ponies trying to make a difference."
1031. >"It's an act! They're just trying sway their audience to the side they want! I've done it many times!" Trixie said.
  1032. >"Political propaganda a common place, Trixie."
1033. >"I remember seeing that Aryanne at Dodge City once." Trixie revealed. "Her and her gang of Earth ponies threatened me to never come back."
1034. >"And why was that Trixie?" Twilight snapped.
  1035. >"Because I was a Unicorn."
1036. "But they have unicorn ponies working for them."
1037. >"When I was in their building, all of their higher ranks were Earth ponies. Grape Vine said that Wave Crest was lucky to have his position."
1038. "Then why give an important rank to some one that you didn't even like?"
1039. >"I think that you should pay this Wave Crest a visit." Celestia said, a sly smile on her lips.
  1040. >It's about damn time.
  1041.
1042. >And so you were off to Manehattan again, this time, looking to make a new friend.
1043. >Trixie was almost excited to begin the end of this.
1044. >"With Wave Crest on our side, we'll have the power of their entire tank-"
1045. "We shouldn't count our chickens before they hatch."
  1046. >Trixie cocked her head.
  1047. >"What do you mean?"
1048. "Aryanne probably didn't put him in charge of she didn't think that she couldn't control him."
  1049. >"What are you saying?"
1050. "What I'm saying is that she picked a stupid, loyal pony that she could bend to do her will."
1051. >You wouldn't be surprised if she was sleeping with him to keep him loyal.
1052. >Convincing him might be harder than just passing over a couple of papers.
1053. >And that is considering that he'll even let you back into the building to talk to him in the first place.
1054. >It took you and Trixie about an hour to travel from the train station to the factory.
1055. >The guard informed you that Obergruppenführer Wave Crest was waiting for you.
1056. >Once again, you took a back entrance to his office.
1057. >Waiting inside, was three armed guards, weapons aimed at you and Trixie.
1058. >The guard that escorted you to the office aimed her weapon as well.
1059. >"It's about time you came to visit, Herr Anon." Aryanne was sitting at Wave Crest's desk.
1060. >You were ready to go down, guns blazing.
1061. >"Please put your weapons down, we have much to discuss." She offered. "Or don't."
1062. >"Where's Wave Cr-" Trixje began.
1063. >"Obergruppenführer Wave Crest is waiting for us downstairs. Let's not keep him waiting."
1064. >You felt the butt of a rifle smack you on the back of your head.
1065. >Yiu fell to the ground as the world went dark.
  1066.
1067. >You awoke, your head throbbing.
1068. >Your left side was crying out in pain.
1069. >You squirmed in the chair that you were tied to, trying your best to calm the pain.
  1070. >"Ah, Herr Anon, you're awake."
1071. >You are in a room with Aryanne and a couple of guards.
1072. >Trixie was no where to be found.
1073. >"You see Anon, I was under under orders from the Reichsführer to have you executed," Aryanne explained, "But I have some questions that I want answered."
1074. "Reichsführer? There's another pony higher up than you?"
  1075. >"Not a pony, Herr Anon."
1076. >Who? It couldn't be the man that you were thinking of right now. He couldn't be here with you.
1077. >"You see, Herr Anon, when I was growing up in Germaniegh, I came across a book that shared my cutie mark. I decided to use it as a personal journal."
1078. >"But one day, the book had writing in it that I did not make. According to the source that I went to, the book can communicate with a version of itself in different worlds."
1079. "Let me guess, someone on the other side in Germany."
1080. >"Not just anyone, Herr Anon. The book only works for certain individuals. I'm lucky that Reichsführer Himmler was delivered the book, or none of this would be possible."
1081. "So you're working for the party."
  1082. >She smiled.
1083. >"Now, we're going to ask you some questions."
1084. "Good luck getting an answer, bitch."
1085. >Aryanne put her face a couple inches from yours, staring you in the eyes.
1086. >"I have ways of making people talk."
1087. >She turned and shouted "Bringen Sie die Hure!"
1088. >Obergruppenführer Wave Crest entered, bringing Trixie in with him.
1089. >She was tied to a chair as well, mouth covered.
1090. >"So tell me about yourself. Where are you from."
  1091. "Go fuck yourself."
  1092. >"Wrong answer."
1093. >You could only sit and watch as a guard hit Trixie with his rifle.
1094. >"Now, Herr Anon, I'll ask you again."
  1095.
1096. >What the fuck is her problem?
1097. >Trixie has nothing to do with the war.
1098. >She is not fighting the Germans.
  1099. >But she is.
1100. >You dragged her into this.
1101. >Had she not went with you, she would be safe and back in her wagon doing magic shows.
  1102. >But now she's here.
1103. >Getting beaten to make you talk.
1104. >You've brought nothing but trouble upon her.
1105. >"Are you really going to let her die here?" Aryanne asked. "After all you too have done?"
1106. >You stayed silent as Trixie started at you.
1107. >It was just like your dream.
1108. >Trixie was in danger, and you couldn't save her.
1109. >"Is that why you've dragged her along? To do the things that you can't?"
  1110. >Silence.
1111. >"She's been captured and beaten and raped and nearly killed with you around."
  1112. "I'll kill you."
1113. >"No, Herr Anon," Aryanne shook her head, "You're going to kill Trixie."
  1114. >More silence.
1115. >"You're going to cause her death. You said that you protect civilians, you save them from danger, no matter the cost to yourself."
1116. >Aryanne walked over to Trixie, looking her over.
1117. >"Are you willing to risk the lives of people you'll never see again in exchange for just one little blue unicorn."
  1118. "She isn't just a unicorn."
1119. >"Oh really?" Aryanne cocked her head. "Then what is she?"
1120. "She's the Great and Powerful Trixie. If rather we both die here than let many more die back at home."
  1121. >Aryanne frowned.
1122. >"Then I am truly sorry, Herr Anon."
1123. >She turned to Wave Crest.
1124. >"Tötet die Hure und die menschliche."
1125. >Obergruppenführer Wave Crest pulled out his sidearm.
  1126.
1127. >"Orf wad" Trixe mumbled under the cloth strip wrapped around her mouth.
1128. >Aryanne looked back to Trixie.
1129. >"Wie war das?" She asked.
1130. >Wave Crest shrugged and removed her gag.
  1131. >"Or what?" Trixie shouted.
1132. >"What's the supposed to mean, Hure?" Aryanne asked.
1133. >"You want him to kill us, but what will you do if he doesn't."
1134. >"I shall have him shot."
  1135. >"By you?"
  1136. >"By the unicorn."
1137. >"Then the Unicorns have the real power here then."
  1138. >Aryanne stomped a hoof.
1139. >"Nein! The Earth ponies do!"
1140. "Is that why all your superior officers are Earth ponies? And why you've been lying to your only Unicorn officer?"
1141. >Wave Crest holstered his pistol. "Yes, Oberst-Grüppenfuhrer, explain to me why all of the unicorns that deserve a promotion get rejected by you."
  1142. >Aryanne looked stunned.
1143. >"I told you this would happen." Said the purple Obergruppenführer. "Unicorns are smart, you can't lie to them forever."
1144. >"Ruhe!" Aryanne shouted. "Guards, arrest shoot them! Unmittelbar!"
1145. >The unicorn guards pretended not to hear.
1146. >The Purple mare turned to the guards. "Take this white Stück Müll away. She's just going to get in our way."
1147. "Get in the way of what?"
  1148. >"Cleaning up her mess."
1149. >The purple mare left with two guards dragging away Aryanne.
  1150.
1151. >Wave Crest began the process untiring you and Trixie.
1152. >"What are going to do now?" Trixie asked.
1153. >"You ask that like I'm leaving the party."
  1154. "You're not?"
1155. >"Why would I? I'm going to continue to do what I've been doing. Making weapons and vehicles to help Equestria."
1156. >"And you're not at all worried about the party you're working for? Trixie looked stunned.
1157. >"I'm going to work with Obergruppenführer Grape Vine to solve this mess. Clean up the party."
1158. >"Make it right." He whispered.
1159. "Start by burning that book."
1160. >"I think we'll milk that book for all its worth first. Get some more information from it."
1161. >Free from the ropes that bonded you, you stood and stretched your stiff limbs.
1162. >"I-I apologize for the... Inconveniences for you two." Wave Crest apologized.
1163. >"We had some papers for you to read."
1164. >"The Oberst-Gruppenführer informed me of this, yes. She said that I was not informed of the plot to make sure I could lie with a straight face."
1165. "You should probably go read those papers."
1166. >"I'm going to do my own investigation into the mess. I'm sure that Grape Vine won't mind anymore."
1167. >Wave Crest turned to leave.
1168. >"Let me escort you out."
