BACKGROUND | hayoung was born in jeju, south korea, and is the oldest of three. growing up, she always got whatever she wanted, because her parents were both pretty well off, and wanted to give their children everything. however, due to being the oldest, she used to always boss her younger siblings around, and continued to do so when she started school. despite this, though, she is extremely protective over her younger brother, who is one of the only people who can bring out the oft side in her. when she was sixteen, she was scouted for the entertainment company, and began training there. however, unlike most other trainees, she did not stay under the radar, and managed to make an image (not a very good one at that) for herself before she actually debuted. after entering the company, she appeared in several music videos before her debut. she was the last one to be added to the final lineup shortly before their debut.


PERSONALITY | hayoung is basically an evil maknae. she has a habit of sucking up to her group mates to get what she wants. she is a bit of a control freak, and likes to be in charge. she is often seen bossing other people around, even if they’re older than her. her personality varies on stage and off stage, as she tends to be more charismatic and sexy onstage, whilst she’s rather awkward whenever cameras aren’t shoved in her face. she feels the need to live up to her idol image while on camera, and will cover it up with her confidence and sarcasm, which can sometimes make her seem rude. she is not the type of person to just sit there quietly when something is bothering her, and is not afraid to speak her mind even if it comes out making her sound rude or bossy. she often tries to act like she's older, because she hates being regarded simply as the maknae and visual. but deep down, she’s still trying to make the transition between being a teenager and an adult, and tries to cover it up with her sexy dancing. due to how she was brought up, she can also sometimes act a bit like a spoilt princess, getting grumpy whenever she doesn't get what she wants. she hates aegyo with a passion, and will never do it despite being the youngest. she is an extremely hard worker, which might surprise people, and feels the need to put in twice as much effort as the others, because she knows she was only put into the group for her looks. she also likes being babied by her group mates, but she will not admit it to anyone. she has a short temper, and can be set off easily, and if you set her off, she will lash out at you and not hold back.

  » PREDEBUT (true) : she got into a scandal involving underage drinking after going to a party once, shortly after joining the entertainment company. the party was busted, and she was found with alcohol in her system, which looked bad on her because she was underage. however, it wasn't really her fault because her drink was spiked and she didn't realise it. nobody was willing to listen to her, so she didn’t bother explaining it, and simply avoids the topic at all costs, knowing that people probably won’t believe her anyway
  » PREDEBUT : she got into a scandal involving anorexia during her training years, after it got out that she was underweight and didn’t eat very much. the entertainment company made no comment on it. however, the scandal was only half true, because at the time she was not anorexic, but she had suffered from the disorder when she was younger in her teenage years. this scandal hit home hard, and she wasn’t seen out in the public for almost four months after it happened. she does not talk about this ever, and all of her group mates are nice enough to steer the conversation away from the topic whenever it comes up.

HOW YOU MEET/MET | they first met when she toppled over him once in the street. hayoung wasn’t looking where she was going, as she was trying to hide from fans and was looking at the ground, and knocked into him. he was rather stunned at first, especially when he realised who she was when her sunglasses fell off. however, at that point, people were starting to recognise them, so hayoung quickly jumped up and ran off. The next time they met, hayoung tried to pretend the incident never happened, as she hates confrontation, and he eventually stopped talking about it.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS | he was kind of weary of her at first, since he’d heard of the scandals that involved both her and the rest of her group, and din’t want to get caught up in them, knowing his own past. however, he was still curious about her, and couldn’t stop himself from going to talk to her the next time they met. it barely registered with hayoung that he was the person she’d run into, and she tried to pretend it never happened. when he first started talking to her, her walls were built up high, and she only answered shortly, but he was very persistent.

FUTURE INTERACTIONS | he is always trying to break down her outside persona that she always shows on camera, because he knows there's more to her than that. however, she's determined not to let him through, and in a way they sort of have a love/hate relationship, because he really wants to get to know her and is trying really hard to get through to her. hayoung doesn't exactly hate him, though, she's just scared he'll break through her walls, and she doesn't want to take that chance, even though she's secretly glad that he actually cares
