  1. It is common knowledge that the #DTG Discord's various laws and rules are established by the Constitution, a legal document written in the first official period of democratic governance by the executive of the time, TheLordErelye. Despite the Constitution serving as a framework for the modteam and the general public, and proving flexible with regards to its amendments, it has come to the attention of the current modteam that the Constitution is insufficient to govern this server. One main reason is its distinctive prose, which was written in a time period of fervent democratic hopes and whose flowery language isn't especially suited for conveying the distinct ideas of this server's laws. Although a summary was added to amend this very early on, it was placed below the actual Constitution for quite some time (an issue which has only recently been rectified), and both it and the actual Constitution contain several portions of text that are entirely out of date.

  3. The proposed solution by the modteam is thus: the Constitution, its amendments, and all miscellaneously created laws will be removed from the #rules channel entirely and consolidated into a single concise list of rules that will be posted directly in said channel. This list may clarify and change the wording of some laws, and remove portions of the Constitution that are out-of-date, but the actual rules themselves will not change - they will merely be restructured. All amendments and laws will be included, and actual "amendments" and "laws" will no longer be created in the sense that there is no "constitution" to amend. Rather, the body that will be edited is simply the concise list of rules. The voting period on these editions will be functionally identical to those of amendments, however.

  5. An archive of the original Constitution, and other documents relating to it, will be placed in #announcements.
