[02:48] Taiga looks to Shizuko now. He didn't speak until spoken to - and he didn't dare answer a question he didn't already know the answer to. Thankfully, both of those criteria were met! In a quiet voice, he responds-

"My name is... Taiga. I am at your service, master." Hearing him a bit closer now, he has an accent to him, though the name might be a dead giveaway already. Shenghese. Or something close to it, at least.

[02:48] Shizuko Megumi says, "Woah woah woah no."
[02:48] Shizuko Megumi says, "I am not your master."
[02:49] Shizuko Megumi says, "Salvery is not allowed in Crafthold."
[02:49] Taiga asks, "...?"
[02:49] Shizuko Megumi says, "You're free to speak and you can call me Shizuko."
[02:50] Shizuko Megumi asks, "Why does Salvas say you want to be my bodyguard? Is that what you want?"
[02:50] Taiga says, "...I am to obey my parents, first and foremost."
[02:50] Taiga says, "However. My parents have been slain."
[02:50] Shizuko Megumi says, "Ah..."
[02:50] Taiga says, "...It is my duty to find a master and follow them now."
[02:50] Shizuko Megumi says, "Huh."
[02:50] Shizuko Megumi says, "What do you want though."
[02:50] Taiga says, "..."
[02:53] Taiga does not understand.

"It is my duty to find and serve a master." He repeats. What he wanted was apparently none of his concern. "It is the Iron Code that I most follow." He says Iron Code with such an importance, you know those are capital letters even as he speaks them to Shizuko. An air of reverence, duty. He hangs his head.

"If you have no use for a bodyguard such as myself... I apologize."
(Taiga)

"Iron Code..." Shizuko mutters to herself.

She looks at him for a long moment, her left hand on her right elbow while her right hand covers her mouth. She moves her arms to her side and speaks after a while.

"If there is any way I can release you from this "Iron Code" I would very much like to do so. I am interested in what you, Taiga, would really want or desire in life. Not what your code seemingly forces you to do."

Shizuko sighs, thinking they may not be so willing to do so at this time.

"But for now I'd like you to... 'become my bodyguard'.

For first..."

Shizuko hesitates, as she doesn't feel great about ordering people around, especially those that seem like they don't want to be.

"Instructions... are to follow me for a bed, shelter, and some food. Your... orders... are to.. protect me. But. Your secondary order is to eventually tell me what you desire in life."
