Kaden: Whoa! I don’t think I’ve ever seen that horse of yours behave so well before!
Sophie: [sweat] He’s only like this ‘cause I’ve got my Beaststone.
Sophie: As soon as I put it down and try and ride him, he’ll be back to his grumpy self, you just watch!
Sophie: Say, Papa, while you’re here, could I ask a teensy little favour?
Kaden: [smile, eyes closed] Sure thing, Soph!
Sophie: Could you teach me to be a proper kitsune?
Kaden: [surprised] What do you mean?
Sophie: [frown] Well, I’m super-clumsy, my luck is terrible, and  I never ever land on my feet when I fall.
Sophie: [eyes closed, frown] I’m basically the worst kitsune ever.
Sophie: But you’re a kitsune’s kitsune! So can you teach me? Pleaaaaaaaase?
Kaden: [smile, closed eyes] Aww, you know I can’t say no to my little girl.
Kaden: [sweat] But no more of this ‘worst kitsune’ stuff, you hear!
Kaden: There’s no such thing as a worst kitsune!
Sophie: [sweat] You miiiight not be saying that when you see me in action.

Kaden: [smile] Aaaand open your eyes!
Sophie: [surprised] Wow! What’s all this?
Kaden: It’s a kitsune training ground!
Kaden: We have something like this back in the kitsune hamlet, but this is the best I could do around here.
Kaden: [smile, closed eyes] Young kitsune play here together, learning to manage both their forms!
Sophie: So… like an obstacle course?
Kaden: Pretty much! You wanna try?
Sophie: [smile] Yeah!
Kaden: Okay, so your target time is three minutes! Ready- set- GO!

Kaden: [sweat] …aaaand there you go!
Kaden: [sweat, confused] Phew. That netting’s a pain, huh?
Sophie: [sad] See? I really am the worst kitsune!
Sophie: I can’t even make it through an obstacle course for children!
Kaden: It’s not like that-
Sophie: [frown] Didn’t you say you’d never seen anyone not finish it?
Kaden: Y-yeah, but…
Kaden: [sweat] Aww, come on, Soph, it’s o-
[neigh SFX]
Kaden: [injured] Augh!
Sophie: [frown] AVEL! Stop it right now!
Sophie: Don’t try and eat Papa’s tail! He works hard on that!
[neigh SFX]
Sophie: I don’t care how fluffy it is, it’s not for eating!
Kaden: [sweat] Phew… you saved me.
Sophie: [smile] Aww, he was just being friendly.
Kaden: [sweat] He really wasn’t.
Sophie: [eyes closed, smile] Alright! Ready for attempt number six!
Kaden: [surprised] You’re okay to keep going?
Sophie: Of course I am! I’m never gonna be good at kitsune-ing if I don’t train, right?

Kaden: [smile] That girl… She’s the hardest working person I’ve ever seen, kitsune or otherwise.
Kaden: Don’cha reckon, Avel?

Sophie: [eyes closed, sweat] Finally… I finally did it…
Sophie: [sad] …aww, what’s the point?

Sophie: All the real kitsune are just gonna laugh at me anyway.
Sophie: I mean, look at me… you’d barely even know.
[Kaden appears]
Kaden: [upset] Sophie! That’s what this training has been about?
Sophie: [surprised] Ack! Papa- how long have you been here?
Kaden: [smile] I saw you managed to complete the course, but I didn’t wanna crowd you.
Kaden: [neutral] Soph – the other kitsune aren’t gonna reject you! They’ll adore you!
Sophie: [eyes closed] I don’t know anything about being kitsune. I haven’t even been to the hamlet.
Sophie: I’m no good at kitsune stuff, and I’m half-human to boot.
Sophie: [sad] …They’ll hate me.
Kaden: [upset] No! Oh, Sophie…
[neigh SFX]
Sophie: [surprised] A-Avel! Stop attacking Papa!
Sophie: [sweat] I’m so sorry!
Kaden: [smile, sweat] It’s okay. He means well.
Kaden: In fact… he’s completely right.
Sophie: [confused] Huh?
Kaden: Y’know, I was amazed when you first started riding horses. You took to it like a natural.
Kaden: Avel’s affectionate to you even when you have your Beaststone!
Sophie: [blush] Is that so special?
Kaden: It sure is! That’s not usually the kind of thing kitsune can do.
Kaden: Not just that: your grit and determination are incredible! Most people would just give up, kitsune and human alike!
Kaden: I know being half-human must make things weird. But you’re an exceptional person, Sophie.
Sophie: [blush] Aww, Papa…
Kaden: [smile] Everyone in the kitsune hamlet’s gonna think you’re amazing. Just like me and Avel do now.
Kaden: [smile, closed eyes] That’s why Avel keeps going for me. He’s protecting you.
