  1. UNIT/STARTER QUESTIONS
  2.
  3. Q: Hey, I'm new, which unit should I UoC?
  4. A: We recommend saving up UoCs for a later date. UoCs can be crucial in filling missing specific roles in your team, and so it is recommended to wait until you have a more solidified team (eg only missing one role) before using any UoCs.
  5.
  6. Q: Should I UoC "X"-unit?
  7. A: Same answer as above.
  8.
  9. Q: What unit should I reroll for?
  10. A: Type in the command "~jpbestunits". Getting a 7 star from that list or multiple 5 stars is a decent starting point.
  11.
  12. Q: But how do I clear content without using my UoC for a 7 star unit?
  13. A: Story is easily completable with 6 star units. At least half of the trials are doable with 6 star units, and events are generally easy enough to complete with 6 star units and/or friend carry unit.
  14.
  15. Q: What does a team consist of?
  16. A: Depending on the Trial you want to be bring a variety of different roles. Roles include: Healer, Magical Tank, Physical Tank, Breaker, Buffer, Chainer. Supplementary roles are Finishers and various support units.
  17.
  18. Q: I don't have "X"-role, does this mean I can't clear Trials?
  19. A: You don't need every single role, it all depends on the trial. Some require breakers, others don't. Some require magic tanks, others physical and others might even require both.
  20.
  21. Q: Does "X"-unit chain with "Y"-unit?
  22. A: Look up the units on either exvius.gg or the reddit wiki. The command "~frames" offers a comprehensive list of chaining frames and commands for a detailed view on chaining partners.
  23.
  24. Q: Is "X"-unit better than "Y"-unit?
  25. A: It vastly depends on your team and available units. While new units easily outperform old units, the difference between new units and semi-new units or enhanced units may be trivial at best. Even if "X"-unit generally outperforms "Y"-unit, "Y"-unit may still be viable in a niche situation.
  26.
  27. Q: I need a specific unit/carry unit for a trial, where can I get help?
  28. A: Ask in the japan-friends section, even high end players will gladly add you onto their friend list as long as you use their units regularly.
  29.
  30. Q: What should I do to prepare for future trials?
  31. A: Farming trust masteries from chocobos, completing story for lapis and gear, and completing events. Having gear is more important than having the best units for a certain trial. Elemental resists, status resist, HP materias take precedent as survivability is more important than damage. Aim to get trust masteries from units such as Shepard, Crowe, etc as they will help tremendously in the later trials.
  32.
  33. Q: Where can I find translations or information for events and story?
  34. A: All recent event information can be found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/FFBraveExvius/search?q=flair%3Ajp+megathread&include_over_18=on&restrict_sr=on&t=all&sort=new
  35. and a guide for reading missions can be found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1mkgvNg8pPb0UfO9Ofa0XlY_dJCjihM3nm6AEDrd3VAk/htmlview

  39. GAME QUESTIONS
  40.
  41. Q: What is the chocobo exploration in the top left in the home screen?
  42. A: It is an exploration where you put in 5 units off on a timed expedition. Once the exploration finishes, trust mastery % is awarded to the units who partook in the expedition (higher % for lower rarity units) and rewards consisting of crysts, cites, gil, special chocobo equipment and esper stones which are required to enter 3 star esper missions. In order to get specific colour supercites and stones, change the location of the exploration (banner above the units) to the respective area. The 12 hour expedition is the most efficient time, assuming you are able to keep a 2-a-day cycle.
  43.
  44. Q: What are blank containers and how do you use them?
  45. A: By fusing a specific tm moogle into a blank container, it converts into a container for that tm (eg putting a Buster Style moogle into the container would make it a Buster Style container). Once moogled to 100%, it gives you the tm, letting you get a tm for units you do not own.
  46.
  47. Q: How do I set a friend unit?
  48. A: Friends Tab -> Bottom left button. JP allows for five companion units, and equipment is separate from units you use for battle.
  49.
  50. Q: What is "EQ" ATK/MAG/SPR?
  51. A: Equipment atk/mag/spr increases its respective stat based on your equipment, and is separate from normal +% which is based on the unit's base stats. For instance, if a unit has 200% EQ atk and is holding a 100 atk weapon, then their atk will be raised by 300 (200% * 100 + 100). This caps at 300% for true doublehand and 200% for true dual wield, and does not contribute towards the standard 400% base stat cap.
  52.
  53. Q: What is Friend Level?
  54. A: Friend Level (as depicted by a blue bar when you first log in that day) is a bar that counts how many people used your companion unit the previous day. The more people who use you, the higher your Friend Level, and the higher your Friend Level Bonus, which includes added quest gil/exp, a small stat boost to all units, and nrg refills.

  58. BATTLE QUESTIONS
  59.
  60. Q: How does chaining work?
  61. A: By attacking in quick succession with different units, damage increases; 0.1x per chain hit, 0.3x per chain hit with the same element, 0.4x per spark chain hit (two hits with no delay in between), 0.6x per spark chain hit with the same element, capping at 3x (6x for certain dual wield units, such as Light Warrior Bartz).
  62.
  63.
  64. Q: How should I best use my units in battle?
  65. A: Keeping rotations is the best way to make efficient use of a unit. Buffs/Debuffs/Cover/Provoke etc should have permanent uptime and you should plan your moves accordingly. For damage units, the command "~rotations" has a list of all relevant units showing how to get the most damage out of them.
  66.
  67.
  68. Q: Does x damage unit work well with y damage unit?
  69. A: Generally, sharing a chain family is enough to make units usable together. However, different units will have different rotations, and adjusting them to be able to attack on the same turns can result in a loss of damage, thus it is best to chain with a duplicate unit. An example of two unique units that can work well together is Kimono Fina and Magitek Warrior Terra, as they have the same chain family, chain with the same element and can both keep up quad cast.
