  1. >>>>IMPORTANT INFO<<<<
  2. -> Install ElonaExtender on a new folder inside your Elona's folder (example: C:\Elona\ElonaExtender). Installation process after that is fairly simple (open ElonaExtender.exe, select ElonaC.exe, select features, confirm with OK).
  3. -> After confirming all features for the first time, ElonaExtender will automatically skip the configuration window and go straight to the game every time you open it. To open the configuration window again, right-click the EEX icon on the right side of your taskbar (system stray), and choose OPTION, then close the game and open EEX again.
  4. -> If you don't open the game via Extender's executable (for example, if you use "ElonaC.exe" instead of "ElonaExtender.exe"), Elona will work normally, without Extender's features. You can uninstall it at any moment without worrying about save issues and other incompatibility problems.
  5. -> While ElonaExtender technically works with any version of Elona (vanilla, Plus, Custom, possibly any other mods), most features are desgined with vanilla Elona in mind, so they may not work as expected, or are simply pointless because Elona+ already have them by default. There are also a few features that I really don't understand how they are supposed to work, and unfortunately the EEX's original manual is a bit incomplete.
  6.
  7.
  8. >>>>>DISPLAY SETTINGS<<<<
  9. ------------------
  10. >>>LOG EXTENDER<<<
  11. ------------------
  12. Opens a separated window that works like a secondary log window that only shows specific messages, based on keywords added by the user.
  13. Example: Adding "pregnant" as a keyword will send a copy of any message with said word to the Log Extender window ("you got pregnant", "[NPC] got pregnant").
  14. You can choose the color of the keyword (will affect the whole message line, not just the keyword) and add a sound effect to it.
  15. Right-clicking the LogEx's top left icon will give you an option to clear the log window and add/delete/edit your keywords (no need to restart the game to do it).
  16.
  17. ->"Bring LogEx window to the top"
  18. When alt-tabbing, LogEx window will always be brought back to the top when bringing Elona back to the top.
  19.
  20. -----------
  21. >>>LABEL<<<
  22. -----------
  23. Adds a small colored bar between an item's icon and name, based on keywords added by the user. It will also work with spells.
  24. Example: adding "potential" as a keyword and "blue" as it's color will add a blue bar next to the name of every item with "potential" in its name, like "Potion of Potential".
  25.
  26. --------------
  27. >>>COLONIZE<<<
  28. --------------
  29. Adds colors to numbers related to spell stock/chance/potential.
  30. Example: on Potential, setting "Seq.1" to "300" and "color" to "black" will set the number's color to black while potential is 300 or above.
  31. Then, setting "Seq.2" to "200" and "color" to "blue" will set the number's color to blue while potential is between 200 and 299 (below Seq.1).
  32.
  33. Unfortunately, this feature appears to be bugged (the "#" marks next to skills' potentials will now show up on top of the "%" symbol).
  34.
  35. ------------------------------
  36. >>>COLOR OF IDENTIFIED ITEM<<<
  37. ------------------------------
  38. You can change the color of identified items with this feature (default is blue), but it won't change the color of items that are cursed, doomed, blessed and/or marked as "no-drop".
  39.
  40. -----------------------------
  41. >>>FORMAT SKILL/SPELL LIST<<<
  42. -----------------------------
  43. Not useful anymore, Elona+ already does this by default.
  44.
  45. -----------------
  46. >>>WEIGH GRAPH<<<
  47. -----------------
  48. Adds a vertical bar that represents your current inventory weight. You can customize colors and choose where the bar will show up (left or right side of the window).
  49. Pic related. http://kusotool.web.fc2.com/eex/man/img/weightgraph-or8.png
  50.
  51. ----------------------
  52. >>>ADD COMMA FOR GP<<<
  53. ----------------------
  54. Adds commas to the gold display on the bottom-right side of the screen and item prices in shops.
  55.
  56. ------------------------------------
  57. >>>SHOW/CONTROL FRAMES PER SECOND<<<
  58. ------------------------------------
  59. A FPS counter will appear on the top right of your screen.
  60. The "control" feature never really worked for me.
  61.
  62. -------------------
  63. >>>SHOW WEIGHT(%)<<
  64. -------------------
  65. Displays your current inventory weight (%) on the bottom right of the window, right next to your burden status.
  66. It will also show how much weight you just gained/lost when picking up/dropping items.
  67.
  68. -----------------
  69. >>>SHOW STAMINA<<
  70. -----------------
  71. Show your current/max stamina on top of your level.
  72. Not useful anymore, you can already check your stamina on the bottom-right side of the screen.
  73.
  74. -----------------------
  75. >>>ETHERWIND WARNING<<<
  76. -----------------------
  77. A simple "Reminder: Etherwind" message will appear near your clock when you are 5 or so days away from a etherwind month.
  78. It will "ignore" etherwind caused by non-natural sources (like a ragnarok), since there is no way to predict that.
  79.
  80. ----------------------------
  81. >>>SHOW NEXT ARRIVAL DATE<<<
  82. ----------------------------
  83. Not useful anymore, Elona+ already does this by default.
  84.
  85. -----------------------
  86. >>>SHOW HIDDEN VALUE<<<
  87. -----------------------
  88. Unfortunately it doesn't work anymore.
  89.
  90. -----------------------
  91. >>>SHOW TREASURE MAP<<<
  92. -----------------------
  93. Apparently this feature doesn't work anymore (or maybe I'm doing something wrong).
  94.
  95. ---------------------------
  96. >>>SHOW REMAINING QUESTS<<<
  97. ---------------------------
  98. Shows current/max(?) number of active quests on the bottom-right side of the window.
  99. Not sure if it's working properly, I don't see much use in this feature anyway.
  100.
  101. --------------------------
  102. >>>SHOW TARGET POSITION<<<
  103. --------------------------
  104. Apparently it doesn't work anymore. The display appears on the bottom left of the screen while using target/look mode, but the value is always (0,0).
  105.
  106. -----------------------
  107. >>>FOOD EXPIRE TIMER<<<
  108. -----------------------
  109. Adds a timer right next to the food's name showing how many hours it still have before rotting.
  110. Letters are "a bit" bugged, but the numbers are working.
  111.
  112.
  113. >>>>>INTERFACE SETTINGS<<<<
  114. ---------------
  115. >>>EQUIP SET<<<
  116. ---------------
  117. You now can "save" your current equipment set and "restore" old ones, so you can easily change your whole set in one command instead on changing each item one by one. While it is an "external" feature (like LogEx), you will control this new window with numpad like any other ingame menu.
  118. On 'w'ear menu, press RIGHT to open a new window on the top left of your screen (outside of the game's screen). You will have three options.
  119. RESTORE: Will equip selected equipment set.
  120. SAVE: Will save your current equipment set in one of the 10 slots available.
  121. EDIT: Will let you rename save slots.
  122. Pressing LEFT will close the equip set window (if you are interacting with the set list, pressing LEFT will bring you back to the options above). Pressing ESC/SHIFT will close both the equip set window and the 'w'ear window.
  123.
  124. IMPORTANT: While the process is very fast, I recommend you to not press any button while EEX is changing your equipment set. If you accidentally do press something, you will probably get a very annoying bug that can be fixed by changing your set again (or closing your game).
  125.
  126. ----------------
  127. >>>SCREENSHOT<<<
  128. ----------------
  129. Simple screenshot feature, you can use config to change some features, like the image's file-type/quality.
  130. You may also take specific screenshots (whole window, only treasure map, etc.) by right-clicking the EEX icon on the right side of your taskbar (system stray).
  131.
  132. ---------------
  133. >>>FIND TEXT<<<
  134. ---------------
  135. A basic CTRL+F feature. Will highlight items based on chosen keywords.
  136. It will also let you edit your Label keywords (so you don't have to restart the game to do it).
  137.
  138. ----------------------
  139. >>>WINDOW PLACEMENT<<<
  140. ----------------------
  141. Instead of going back to the top-left side of your screen, Elona and LogEx's windows will automatically be placed on the spot you want when you open the game.
  142. Like the PLEASE READ button says, you need to set the position you want for both windows, then use SAVE WINDOW PLACEMENT on the system stray menu to save your changes.
  143.
  144. ------------------
  145. >>>NOTIFY SOUND<<<
  146. ------------------
  147. You can configure the system sounds used by EEX when using certain features (screenshot, load equip set and save equip set).
  148. This is pretty useful: If you don't hear the sound while taking a screenshot, this means that EEX failed to save the screenshot.
  149.
  150.
  151. >>>>BMG SETTINGS<<<<
  152. ------------------
  153. >>>BMG EXTENDER<<<
  154. ------------------
  155. Changes how Elona's BGM system works, giving you more advanced customization options (you can define when certain BGMs will play based on time, day of the month, rogue boss fights, traveling trader encounters, etc).
  156. Unfortunately the feature isn't translated like the rest of Extender, but you can learn more about it here: http://kusotool.web.fc2.com/eex/man/index.html#bgm
  157.
  158.
  159.
  160. >>>>>>NETWORK SETTINGS<<<<
  161. --------------------
  162. >>>NETWORK FILTER<<<
  163. --------------------
  164. This feature will filter specific messages from network chat, based on keywords added by the user.
  165. Remember to add only one keyword per line.
  166.
  167.
  168. >>>>>>SAVEGAME SETTINGS<<<<
  169. ----------------------
  170. >>>AUTOMATIC BACKUP<<<
  171. ----------------------
  172. Creates a backup of your save file when exiting the game normally (after the normal save process).
  173. Backups are stored on Elona/ElonaExtender/save.backup/sav_[charactername].
  174.
  175. ->Enable 'Incremental Backup' for every 'Save'
  176. EEX will create a new backup every time the game is saved, automatically (any auto-save process) or manually (anytime you save with the F1 button).
  177. This specific feature is a bit unstable, and it may crash your game from time to time. It never corrupted save files in my experience, but you should avoid using it anyway.
  178.
  179.
  180. >>>>>OTHER SETTINGS<<<<
  181. As far as I know, OPTIMIZE and SPECIAL FIX are designed for the vanilla Elona game only.
  182.
  183. -END-
