"Amazing," Stroff mused. "We must be the first people to set foot in here in a hundered thousand years."

	Stroff and Gregor stood just inside the temple. It had taken the two close to an hour before they managed to make the doors move. A single beam of light cut through the darkness through the gap in the door, casting their shadows out into the dark along with it. The inside reminded Stroff of a cathedral, the walls stretching high while the domed ceiling seemed to be covered in a mural he could only see glimpses of in the low light.

"Professor," Gregor said pointing towards the center of the room. "What-is-THAT?"

	Stroff's aged eyes attempted to focus in the low light, but to no great result, it wasn't until Gregor shone his flashlight at the object could Stroff see clearly.

Stroff's tilted his head as he examined the object. "That...is a very good question old friend."

	Stroff with caution reached out towards the crystal, jerking his hand away out of instinct before reaching back. Neither the crytal or the metal object reacted as he drew his hand close.

"What do you think it is Professor?" Gregor said.

Stroff paid no attention, instead absently holding a hand out towards Gregor's direction. "Hand me the meter Greg." His gaze still locked on the crystal.

	Gregor reached towards his belt and unhooked a small device from it, handing it to Stroff. The device itself was divided into two halves,  with the bottom having just three buttons and a dial while the top was rounded and protected by a cover.  Stroff opened the cover revealing a small screen built into it. Powering on the device the green tinted screen lit up almost immediately, bringing a series of rapid beepings with it.

"Gregor are you seeing this?" Stroff asked as his assistant crouched down beside him.

Gregor shook his head in disbelif, "this can't be right professor." He said, "The readings are off the charts, there's no way this crystal is that saturated."

	The device continued it's frantic beeping till Stroff turned it off, handing it back to Gregor as he stood.

"I have no idea what this place is Greg," Stroff said placing a hand on the crystal. "Though I think we've found the find of the century."

	Outside the cave something stirred to life. The statues lining the path hummed as some unseen force gave life to every suit. The hum grew louder as each armor powered up, their fingers flexing before clenching into fists, dust and dirt sliding off as each suit's joints moved after untold centuries of disuse as they flexed for the first time in ages. One after another a gust of air puffed out of each respirator before a single red eye appeared in the center of each visor. The eyes looked from left to right before returning to rest in the center before glowing bright for a brief second.

"BWONG"

	The noise range through the cave as the eyes glowed in those brief seconds, the sound like a deep brass bell being rung. The armors, now alive, turned towards the temple as the  rows of single eyes burned in the darkness.

"No, that's just conjecture." Deeta sighed. "We have no proof the monster lord ever existed, the council has presided since man and mamono came into contact."

"Well how do you explain mamono came to be?" The woman asked, "Explain that!"

	Deeta felt stressed, she had tried to stall for time till her uncle came back.
