- Night in the Woods: DemonTower Any%
- *Time starts at input to start game (either immediately when hitting Begin or when hitting Yes on Restart)
- ** Never hurts to click Sharkle for good luck :)
- I. The Hole
- - Key Room is in bottom left corner, dash when you can on your way there
- - kill Green Guard on the way if they're along your path (this will respawning after Boss Key as the Red Guard at boss door; do this when possible on all levels)
- ** if there is no door, the run is dead...there's a chance the key room might not spawn every now and then. Have to reset **
- - Boss room is directly UP from outside key room
- - Blood Crocodile: position yourself between boss and door so when you kill boss, you can immediately open door without having to wait for death animation to complete
- II. Cellar
- - Key Room is directly to the RIGHT of starting spot
- - Boss Room is UP and LEFT from outside Key Room
- - Krampus: as he is spawning in, dash to the door and walk on the right side of it, wait for him to walk forward a few steps, slash down at him twice, dash down and slash up twice and repeat. there's a rhythm to it that takes some practice. Watch health bar and when there is one hit left, position yourself near door to immediately open when killing
- III. Skellie Outskirts
- - Key Room is LEFT one room and UP one room
- - Boss Room is two rooms RIGHT from outside key room
- - Necromancer: will teleport 3 times and then be vulnerable. After being attacked, will teleport once. Watch for where Necromancer ends up, and try to chain attacks by mashing dash and slash at the same time. *Can be one cycled if you get enough damage on first spawn and immediately follow up to the second position and continue mashing, but is hard to get. You can also take damage on last hit to avoid waiting for death animation to complete, but is also difficult to do
- IV. Skellie City
- - Key Room is RIGHT one room and DOWN one room from starting spot
- - Boss Room is UP two rooms, LEFT two rooms from outside of Key Room
- - Skellie King: can hit you for two points of damage so be wary. Hard to manipulate but if you can get him to dash back into a wall, you can chain dash and slash simultaneous attack to quickly reduce his HP. if he isn't cooperating, doing a dash into slash attack back and forth on him can be quick as well. Once the King is down, there are three skellies you can kill close to the door to cancel death animation by being close enough to the door.
- V. Library
- - Key Room is LEFT two rooms from starting spot
- - Boss Room is UP one room RIGHT one room from outside Key Room
- - Rat King: can time an attack to dash then mash Dash and Slash at the same time to chain a bunch of hits to bring down the HP quickly. It will split into three smaller Rat King balls, which will each split into 3 of the normal rat king enemies, who in turn split into 3 of the smallest rat king enemies. Fastest way to kill that phase is by walking to the right a few steps and then dashing into a slash, walk right a few steps and repeat until they're all gone. Tricky to get the timing down for but worth learning. If you have a lot of dashes, you can also dash then slash once, dash away back to where you started, then follow up with a dash then slash again. This will deplete dash bars much quicker though so be careful and keep an eye on the meters. Can save one hit to get closer to the door and to get the death animation skip
- VI. Church
- - Key Room is RIGHT one room and UP one room from starting point
- - Boss Room is FIRST room right outside of Key Room. There are two guaranteed health drops in the boss room, and many pots for a chance at more health, so you can decide how to manage your health before entering
- - Ghost Pope: This Boss gains i-frames after getting hit. Can be hard to manipulate. his ghost adds are invulnerable and can only get pushed back and will always path themselves to your position. Quick Kill strat is to dash then slash into them all which will push back boss towards door and also push back the ghosts. can do this repeatedly if you're lucky, but there's a good chance he will shoot fireballs in a way that you won't dash through. If you can chain that attack in time with him losing his i-frames, you can get him close enough to the door to avoid the death animation. Can also take damage during final hit to not be stuck during the animation, which is hard to do consistently. Can heal as necessary with the pots in the room
- VII. Blood Moat
- - Key Room is LEFT one room and DOWN one room.
- - Depending on the room you get for the chest, you may not have to fight any enemies since they can't go past blood rivers. Watch out for Pyromancer Birds from shooting fireballs. If a fireball hits you and you're by the chest, you will not be able to dash away and will be stunlocked to death.
- - Boss Room is UP two rooms from outside of the Key Room
- - if the Red Guards are across a blood river and there is no room for you to stand and attack, you can inch your way close to them so you don't take damage from the river and can slash to kill them.
- - Blood Croc II: can immediately chain some mashing Slash Dash attacks (I swear I don't mean to rhyme there) to bring down her HP. Once she starts moving, bait her up so you can continue chaining the Dash/Slash attacks against the wall while also holding right to inch away so you don't get hit. if you're really fast and mash in a way to prevent your dash bars from depleting too much, you can kill her before the Fireball attack but that's pretty tough. If you can't get her HP down all the way and she's walking again, it's good to slash twice, dash away and repeat to finish her off. Make sure she doesn't walk in front of the door because the blood will hurt you and lock you out from opening the door
- VIII. Leafy Graves
- - Pray for good RNG and kind enemy spawns
- - Key Room is on the RIGHT side in the middle room. Depending on the layout of the dungeon you get, navigation to it will be different.
- - Boss Room is UP one room and LEFT one room from outside the key room. Again, layout will be random so navigation will not be set but locations of both remain the same
- - Boss Knife Guard: two ways to tackle this enemy. Either attack the smaller Knife Guard adds before Boss is ready to fight or prioritize them accordingly. There are guaranteed health drops in this arena as well. Boss will dash a minimum of three times, pause and then throw three knives out. Cannot be chained and has i-frames after being attacked and will dash minimum of three times again. Time your dashes and attacks to absorb or avoid knife throws and attack when Boss is open. Another strat for this boss is to dash all the way to the right where there are guaranteed health drops and enemies won't follow you across the blood river. The small Knife Guards may dash over there but also might spawn on the river and die because of it. Seems like Boss Knife Guard's dashes are quicker over here so this could even be the optimal strat. Also possible for the Boss to take damage from the blood river.
- IX. Cemetery Grounds
- - Mandatory to request some dance emotes during this split because of how good of a track is playing here. I recommend catJAM
- - Key Room is in the TOP LEFT CORNER. Layout will be different so just be careful navigating there, kill or avoid ghosties depending on the situation. Kill Green Guards as you see them and be careful about taking damage. There are spikes so be wary. there are no guaranteed drops in this level, but jars still have a chance to drop health.
- - Boss Room is in the TOP RIGHT CORNER of the map. There is NO BOSS in this level so just dash immediately to the exit and get your nerves ready for the final boss
- VI.
- - Key Room is a gimmick for good ending that is on the left side and requires a combination that an NPC in alternating levels gave out throughout the run. Not fast and Good Ending is not a separate category so not worth going for. The code is different every run.
- - Boss Room is all the way at the top of the room. I believe the fastest path to it is to dash until you're out of bars, then continue walking up until you have all your bars back and repeat. be careful of the blood rivers because one hit will kill you.
- - BLOOD THIEF: walk up to him as he spawns in and be slightly to his right side so that if you dash you won't hit him. Be close enough that you can hit him with your sword. I wait until I see his sword come out and then try slashing to bait him to dash backwards into the door. if he does, dash towards him and chain Dash/Slash at the same time to quickly kill him and open the door as soon as you can. Sometimes, if you end on a frame where you're out of stamina for your slash, you will have to wait for the death animation despite seeing the button to open the door. you will need to dash once after the death animation to regain the ability to open the door. Avoid his bloodstain, because it can kill you. If he doesn't give you a good pattern by immediately dashing backwards, watch out for his large slash attack and try to bait him to dash into a wall for the chain attack. be wary of blood rivers because they can hurt you and he will regain health if he crosses it. Pretty easy to manipulate his AI by baiting out an attack and following up. All and All is an easy boss once you get the hang of it.
