Subject 0002 - "The Deck"

Containment Procedure:
Subject 0002 is to be locked within basic Lambda Storage locker. No special containment methods, Subject 0002 has proven to be inanimate.

Description:
Subject 0002 appears as a plain deck of Bicycle brand playing cards. It is virtually indiscernible from actual playing cards save for a barely noticeable crack present in all hearts of the suite. Those who play any game with these cards that involves a form of gambling develop a severe addiction to it, eventually escalating to the gambling of their lives.

Discovery:
Subject 0002 was recovered by plain-clothed Omega agents after numerous reports of bizarre suicides began to circulate around [REDACTED], Nevada in 19[REDACTED]. Omega agents traced the suicides to the casino [REDACTED] where, upon further investigation, they found a wildly successful table manned by [REDACTED] (Taken into custody and questioned, mind wiped after deemed ignorant). Those who sat at the table did not leave the entire night and, upon the casino's closing, became visually irritated and aggressive that they continue playing. Omega 68 managed to acquire this deck as Omega 79 apprehended [REDACTED]. All those who interacted with Subject 0002 were also taken into custody (See Document A) deemed Subjects 0002-1 through 0002-8.

Addendum A-1

After observing Subject 0002-1, Subject 0002-3, Subject 0002-4, Subject 0002-5, Subject 0002-6, and Subject 0002-8's fatalities (varying reasons, all attempts to cease their gambling with their lives failed) Subjects 0002-2 and 0002-7 were transferred to separate holding facilities in Delta Containment Level B and were closely monitored. Both Subjects continued gambling despite there being no other object in the holding cells with them, betting with imaginary partners over various means like "How long can you hold your breath" and "How many times can you slam your head against the wall". Despite numerous attempts to remove and contain them, both Subjects eventually succumbed to their self-induced injuries.

Document B (Test 0000-0003)

Testing with various Rho class personnel has confirmed that Subject 0002 only induces the need to gamble if gambling is actually present in the game the Subject is used for. Instances of War and Go Fish proved to have no effect on the Rho class personnel, but if any form of betting was added to the games they became infected and further sub-units of Subject 0002 (To date there are 22 sub-units). Further testing allowed and determined to be safe for researches avoiding gambling.

Document C

Known as Incident 2, this mishap occurred when two Tau class personnel, Tau 7 and Tau 13 mistook Subject 0002 (which was not properly placed back in its storage locker) for a regular deck of cards. Both Tau 7 and Tau 13 (now Subject 0002-20 and Subject 0002-21) are now deceased, after betting on who could discharge more rounds from their [REDACTED] into their own heads.
