  1. [1:22 AM] Vitoniz30: I have no other mods or other clients
  2. [1:23 AM] Durandal: No graphical mods whatsoever?
  3. [1:23 AM] Vitoniz30: Used an old crossfire backgrounds and Flat interface, that's all. Never had similar problem with that
  4. [1:24 AM] Durandal: It's having problems overwriting a starsphere which has likely been replaced with a Crossfire one.
  5. [1:24 AM] Durandal: That's my guess here.
  6. [1:24 AM] Durandal: I'm not sure why that would be an issue.
  7. [1:24 AM] Durandal: How tech savvy are you?
  8. [1:25 AM] Vitoniz30: Pretty enough
  9. [1:25 AM] Durandal: Can you navigate to the directory your launcher complains about and send me that .cmp file?
  10. [1:25 AM] Vitoniz30: Sure, one minute
  11. [1:26 AM] Durandal: I find it unusual that you're the first person to complain about this.
  12. [1:26 AM] Durandal: Graphics mods are extraordinarily common.
  13. [1:26 AM] Durandal: So if this were causing issues I'd expect to see a bunch of people with problems.
  14. [1:26 AM] Vitoniz30: I find it unusual because there is nothing to make a trouble
  15. [1:27 AM] Vitoniz30:
  16. Attachment file type: unknown
  17. starsphere_bw12.cmp
  18. 913.61 KB
  19. [1:27 AM] Durandal: Oooooookay.
  20. [1:27 AM] Durandal: It updated the file correctly.
  21. [1:27 AM] Durandal: That's actually exactly what it's supposed to be.
  22. [1:28 AM] Durandal: So why would it spew an error?
  23. [1:28 AM] Durandal: What has happened after that error?
  24. [1:28 AM] Durandal: You hit ok, and then...?
  25. [1:28 AM] Vitoniz30: Good question, I can replace files manually, but it won't avoid launcher error
  26. [1:28 AM] Vitoniz30: Launcher just closed
  27. [1:29 AM] Durandal: Restart it.
  28. [1:29 AM] Durandal: And actually
  29. [1:29 AM] Durandal: That's a brand new starsphere.
  30. [1:29 AM] Vitoniz30: Restart what?
  31. [1:29 AM] Durandal: There was nothing to be replaced before that.
  32. [1:29 AM] Durandal: Restart your launcher.
  33. [1:29 AM] Durandal: And also - are you out of disk space?
  34. [1:29 AM] Vitoniz30: It asks me to patch again
  35. [1:30 AM] Durandal: Check to see how much disk space is available.
  36. [1:30 AM] Vitoniz30: Nope, 90 Gb free space on local disk
  37. [1:30 AM] Durandal: Oooookay.
  38. [1:30 AM] Durandal: ...Try patching again.
  39. [1:30 AM] Vitoniz30: Tried. Error again
  40. [1:31 AM] Durandal: Same starsphere?
  41. [1:31 AM] Vitoniz30: Same
  42. [1:32 AM] Vitoniz30: For the first time error was on starsphere_bw06cmp
  43. [1:32 AM] Vitoniz30: Is that another brand background?
  44. [1:32 AM] Vitoniz30: Wait, rh06
  45. [1:32 AM] Vitoniz30: Thuringia, I assume
  46. [1:33 AM] Durandal: rh06 is Munich.
  47. [1:33 AM] Durandal: I think I might know what's happening here.
  48. [1:34 AM] Durandal: That starsphere it replaced was previously called rh06, was a vanilla sphere, and contained less detail
  49. [1:34 AM] Durandal: We edited it, renamed it to bw12 (new file) and added new rh06.cmp for Munich.
  50. [1:34 AM] Durandal: I think the launcher is checking something about those files, maybe a hash, and flipping out because they're identical.
  51. [1:35 AM] Durandal: But you're the first person to encounter this issue.
  52. [1:35 AM] Durandal: And it seems unusual to me that the launcher would do that?
