Reasoning:   Torian has recently discovered a connection to an unknown force, granting him the ability to manipulate gravity.   He still isn't sure what it entails and what it could mean for him the future, but he realizes that for now, he cannot be entirely reliant on his newfound abilities.  He's tested himself once more against one of his friends, the Saint Kiran, and found that though he has gotten stronger, he still isn't where he needs to be.

So he strives to inrease his own power through training, pushing his body to its limits.  After all, with Acai telling him of the threat that the cultists truly represent, hearing of Gousen's death and of course, the more immediate threat of Zero and his armies, he knows he has to improve as quickly as possible alongside discovering more about the mysterious power he wields.
