- Secure attachment suggests a preference for the "I'm OK, You're OK" life position whereas anxious attachment suggests avoidance of the "I'm Not OK, You're Not OK" life position.
- Dismissive attachment, on the other hand, implicates an "I'm OK" life position which offers the greatest benefit for a thinker when the partner is in the "I'm Not OK" or "You're Not OK" life position. This benefit is smaller for a feeler because it's more difficult for them to retain a "I'm OK" life position.
- Fearful attachment implicates an "I'm Not OK" life position which offers the greatest benefit for a feeler when the partner is in the "I'm OK" or "You're OK" life position. This benefit is smaller for a thinker because they have more difficulty obtaining an "I'm OK" life position.
