Pokemon Soul Silver - Any% Glitchless FAQ (Voltorb Flip)

Q: What are you playing on, it is emulator?
A: No, I'm playing on A DS (phat) with a capture board installed from http://3dscapture.com/ds/

Q: Why are you resetting? You haven't even left your house!
A: Now that I'm using RNG manipulation to get a good Cyndaquil, I need to start the game at a specific time. My Trainer ID tells me whether I've timed it correctly (Correct Seed) - if the ID isn't 39391, I reset.

Q: What is RNG Manipulation?
A: RNG manipulation is used in this speedrun, which involves resetting on a specific second starting from a specific time, and hitting the correct frame for the correct seed after resetting. This allows me to get a Cyndaquil with almost perfect stats. I can also manipulate zero encounters up the the old man running shoes guide and beyond if I do my movement correctly.

Q: Who is found out all the RNG Manip?

Q: Why do you name yourself and Cyndaquil one character?
A: Because it's faster to name them one character for text purposes.

Q: What about the old route? Lugia? Sentret?
A: This new route ends up being a bit faster due to getting TBolt, Pokerus and not catching the slaves but getting them from the game corner, the route however is alot risker up until you get raikou as you skip the goldenrod mart, dont have a slave to switch out on for falkner and rival 2 and now whitney is alot harder.

Q: Who came up with this new route what else is different? What is voltorb flip?

came up with route, the main changes to the route are listed above but this route also involves going to the gamecorner to play voltorb flip for minutes on, for a detailed explanation on that please see his FAQ which I have listed below at the bottom as I feel he does a better job at explaining it then me.

Q: Why do you choose Cyndaquil?
A: Cyndaquil is the fastest to deal with the first hour, The cyndaquils stats/ivs are 4/23/21/28/5/31 & Rash nature

Q: How did u get the masterball from the lottery?
A: I used RNG Manipulation to get me the ID required for it

Q: How did you get/catch raikou?
A: By waking it up, then catching it with a masterball

Q: Whats raikous stats?
A: Raikou's stats/ivs are : 17/23/17/27/20/28 & Modest nature

Q: What Hidden Power do you have on Raikou?
A: We dont get or use HP in this run as it wouldn't be useful, but for those wondering it would be Bug with 41 power

Q: What are the top run killers?
A: 1) Red 2) Blue 3) Whitney 4) Rival 2/3 5) Falkner , Everything past getting the raikou up until Blue is relatively safe

Q: What is the current World Record?

Q: Why SoulSilver over HeartGold?
A: Either game can be chosen. But soul silvers rare candy in whirl islands is quicker to get to then Heart Gold's one in Tin Tower

Q: Why do you play as the girl?
A: The counterpart does the catching tutorial, and the male does it faster, so it’s faster to choose the female for yourself

Q: Why do you name yourself and Cyndaquil one character?
A: Because it's faster to name them one character for text purposes.

Q: Are there glitches in this run?
A: There are glitches in this game, but this is a glitchless run.

Q: What other pokemon do you catch/use?
A:  Spearow is given to you & used for Fly, Dratini from the game corner for waterfall, whirlpool and Surf, Abra also from the game corner for teleport and of course Raikou

Q: What is a "spinner"?
A: A spinner is a trainer that randomly looks in each direction.  These spinning trainers cost precious time on account of extra time battling.

Q: Do you have a goal time?
A: Sub 345 to begin with, getting sub 340 would be the ultimate goal for me but honestly I just want to have fun and enjoying streaming these days im not to concerned about goal times. If I get sub 340 one day and feel like i can keep going Ill keep going it depends what I feel like.

Q: Is there a way to manip spinners in this run?
A: Yes! I call it Minnow manip see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycMiOD37csU for an example, this manip works for all gen 4 games.
