Ragnorra Session 76

Start: 6 pm, Friday, Eleasis 20, 1396

The party investigate the Phaerrim lair. They find several strange 90 degree turns and at the terminus, they find a sheer drop into an open pit. At the bottom of the pit, they find a strange fluorescent slime. Examining the chamber, they find some of the geometry of the place slightly 'off', indicating far realm influence.

Cassius and Vix investigate the demon corpses in the pit. They are not kept guessing what the substance is for very long, because after a few moments, a Genius Loci emerges. They quickly realize the creature's digestive enzyme is the fluorescent substance, and realize the creature has been altered by the energy of the far realm.

They handle the creature quickly. As soon as the Genius Loci dies, they hear wailing from above. Ascending through the tunnel once more, they locate the Phaerrim. It, too, appears altered by the far realm, and it appears to be in pain. The party swiftly put it down.

They gather parts from the altered Phaerrim and notice its egg sac has been excised previously.

Cassius strings the phaerrim up for all to see, like a trophy or a scarecrow, upon the highest tower of the city. He illuminated it with a giant burst of light, which was noticed by some of the monstrous denizens of Myth Drannor, as he saw several of them scatter at the bright light like cockroaches. He is sure his demonstration was seen, and word of his deeds will spread.

Investigating further to the north, they find the probably entrance to the underground. Ronja studies the fountain and determines the passphrase. They enter.

Inside, they find marble paneling and flooring have been uprooted, and the air is eerily still. Here, too, the corruption of the Far Realm can be noticed. They do not go far before Cassius pre-ambushes Phane assassins lurking in the walls, as if waiting for them.
