  1. FEDIEL FOR COMPLETE IDIOTS
  2.
  3.
  4. Fediel is a notoriously difficult boss with very unusual mechanics. If you're like me and don't have the cool characters to do this how most people do, here's how you can approach this fight anyway:
  5.
  6. The first part of the fight is fairly trivial; while she is completely immune to debuffs, her autos are a complete joke compared to the other dragons and you can heal off Miasma Storm's debuffs and the field effect's damage.
  7.
  8. At 70%, she uses Cursed Stakes, which inflicts 32,000 plain damage to three allies and inflicts Slashed and Death. This is kinda violent, but if you have a dedicated Sub user (Pecorine) it's trivial to just feed them to it, since you're not losing characters to much else. If you also have Fif, you can keep your Sub user around for later, too. You can also just tank it if you're bulky enough (it won't hit the same person twice unless Sub is involved, and won't do no more than 32,000 to anyone in total).
  9.
  10. At 50%, she uses Flame of Reversal. This does the same damage as her diamond ougi, but inflicts full dispel, 200% charge cut, poison, and shadowed. Shadowed is not paralysis, it just prevents you from making attacks; skills are fair game so this isn't a huge deal.
  11.
  12. At 40% the fight changes dramatically; the field effect immediately upgrades to prevent healing, and she queues up Soul Breaker. Soul Breaker inflicts plain damage to a random character equal to 100% of their HP and inflicts Death Ineluctable if it kills. It also bypasses shields. Usually it gets handled in the same fashion as Cursed Stakes, but it is possible to survive it via Lethal Hit Dodged. This will immediately get you killed by the field though, so pack revival. It is technically possible to cancel Soul Breaker in the raid by inflicting 44,444,444 skill damage, but this is completely out of reach for most players.
  13.
  14. Worse still, Fediel's diamond ougi changes from the relatively harmless Miasma Storm to Calamity Rain, a 24-hit attack that inflicts Weakened (essentially Paralyze) on anyone who takes damage. Since you only have a few turns to act anyway, this is massively crippling and must be planned around. It can be cancelled with 20 hits in the raid, and not at all in the solo.
  15.
  16. Finally, Fediel will use Flame of Reversal again at 10%. This can be a pain for some strategies but is not likely to ruin you by itself.
  17.
  18. There are, to my knowledge, six approaches to the fight after 40%.
  19.
  20.
  21.
  22.
  23. STRAT A: JUST PRESS BUTTONS LOL
  24. The one most people use: bring Qilins, bring Grand Io+Sarunan+Nighthound if you have Io or Luchador if you don't. Play "normally" until 40%, then nuke her down with as few turns as possible. This is how the raid is usually played, but can be difficult to solo with and is not really viable in the raid if you don't have Grand Io. I don't have Grand Io. If you want to know how to murder the raid quickly in more detail than this, go ask someone who has her.
  25.
  26.
  27.
  28. STRAT B: SUPERSIZE ME
  29. Geisenborger's 3 makes him functionally immortal for 5 turns, extended every time a Light ally buffs or heals him. If enough people are buffing him up, this can be extended indefinitely with no cap. If his clock gets long enough, he can get to a point where he can just solo the second half of the fight. I don't have Borger so I can't play with this strat, but my understanding is that you want some combination of J.J., Fif, and HalMal backing him up.
  30.
  31.
  32.
  33. STRAT C: NIRVANA
  34. The Sage CCW, Nirvana/Hallowed Pilgrimage, causes MC to gain Auto-Revive when using Panacea. This property is present in Nirvana's most basic form, so it's quite cheap to make. Revival is not blocked in any way by the field, so if MC is able to keep using Panacea without dying, they can survive indefinitely while the field kills Fediel.
  35.
  36. Because of Calamity Rain and Eclipse, some special further measures are needed to make this work. Don't use Luminiera Omega's aura; we want to lowball our HP so the field does relatively low damage. Instead use the best elemental aura summon you have (or Zeus) for main summon and find a Zeus for support summon. Bring C.C., Nobue, Colossus Omega, and Qilin for subsummons. Shields work on the field, and if shields reduce the damage taken from Calamity Rain to 0, it won't even try to inflict Weakened. With this in mind, put Veil, White Wall, and Revive on MC and bring whoever you want. (Fif is a good backrow pick since she can sit alongside MC while auto-reviving herself, lessening the pressure).
  37.
  38.
  39.
  40. STRAT D: DEATH'S GRACE
  41. There is an obscure Elysian EMP skill called Voice Unveiled. It gives the party Death's Grace status for 4 turns, which converts end-of-turn damage into recovery. Fediel's field does not stop you from healing from this, making the fight dramatically easier.
  42.
  43. There is a catch to this; Fediel has a special trigger called Death's Seduction that she uses if any party member has Death's Grace status. In the solo fight, this trigger only fires once, inflicts 999999 Dark damage on the entire party, and inflicts permanent Summonless. Since it only fires once, it's rather trivial to deal with; just Sub+Revive it like you do with Cursed Stakes, or bring a carbuncle and someone to 100% cut it. Since you won't be using summons in the raid, stack your grid for sub auras and stats. Since Death's Grace gives you percentage healing, try to get your HP as high as possible; use double Luminiera aura if you need to.
  44.
  45. This can be done with a no-gacha-SSR roster of Fif, J.J., Pecorine, Feather, and Sophie if you play your cards right. You'll probably prefer SSR characters tailored to multi-hit for the backline if you care about clear speed though. J.J. is harder to replace, as his ability to protect you from Calamitous Rain is incredible; Elysian with Debuff Resistance EMP becomes totally immune at three stacks.
  46.
  47. In the raid, Death's Seduction is used every turn Death's Grace is present, inflicts 8000 static Dark damage, heals Fediel for 3 million, and lowers all buff durations by 1 if it inflicts damage. Because of the duration cut it's not viable to use Death's Seduction in the raid unless you have another source of it; either Halloween Lady Grey or FLB Lich. I have neither of these so I cannot speak to how effective they are, but combining Elysian with either and some significant damage cut should be able to get you through it. You must wait until 40% to cast Death's Grace in the raid though because of the rather absurd healing Fediel gets if the second field effect isn't up.
  48.
  49.
  50.
  51. STRAT E: A TRUE HERO
  52. Death's Grace is awkward to use in the raid due to the duration cut, but since it only lowers duration on inflicting damage, it's perfectly usable if we can just take no damage from it, every turn. But who could do this...?
  53.
  54. Enter Vane.
  55.
  56. Fight the dragon normally until 40%, then get Vane in. Use a carbuncle and Sarunan's 1 to give everyone 100% Dark cut, then use Voice Unveiled. Vane is now completely immune to Dark damage and the field effect, and because Fediel will use Death's Seduction on every turn (to no avail), he will extend his buff durations every turn. His damage to Fediel is complete crap, but thanks to the field effect she will *eventually* die (along with the entire rest of your party, but we just need Vane so it's fine).
  57.
  58. There is a nasty hitch; at 10%, Flame of Reversal comes out, and will dispel Vane's buffs. You need a form of Dispel Cancel to shield him from this: any of Grand Noa, Fire Drang, or Grand Katalina will work. If you have none of these, you'll need to use a 4* Freyr. If you don't have him either, this strat requires you to refresh support summons until you find one, then run with him in the support slot. It's painful, but I've done it.
  59.
  60. This strat does not work in the solo, as Death's Seduction is used only once there.
  61.
  62.
  63.
  64. STRAT F: NO DAMAGE ALLOW
  65. There are other ways of achieving 100% cut indefinitely, or something close to it, without resorting to gimmicky Water characters. I don't have a combination that works, but you basically just need:
  66.
  67. * Either 3 FLB Hectors, or 3 Dark Carbuncles and a buttload of Shield sources
  68. * Two of Juliet, Jeanne D'Arc, or Tormentor MC with Anti-Dark Linen
  69. * Death's Grace via one of Halloween Lady Grey, FLB Lich, or Elysian MC
  70.
  71. As usual the fight must be done normally until 40% before casting Death's Grace. This is complete overkill for the solo; please only consider it if trying to solo the raid.
