Lamb To Your Slaughter
[Context: A song written for a pop punk girl band by its lead singer and guitarist, Renxiang "Ren" Williams. May be about a prior or current relationship. The only one of the poems I have that was also written "in universe".]


I can see the devil hiding in your eyes

Burn marks on my skin from where the embers die

I'm a briar rose and I'm the thorny type
Have I pricked your fingers too many times?
The racing heart and soul in me no longer mine
Somewhere between intrigue and fear for my life

I like how things get sweeter with a little pain
I'm talking silk ties, blood stains
Gun fire, and rusty chains
Everybody said I'd have nothing to gain
But if it's you, I don't care
I'm a prize and I'm the game

So take my breath away, turn up the heat
Dig in your nails, sink in your teeth
