The Thinning is set on a earth suffering from overpoplulation. To control the population, every year students from 1st to 12th grade have to take an aptitude test and only the smartest will pass. If you fail, you will be killed. A girl named Laina Michaels (Peyton List) will fight her way to show that she passed even when she is told she had failed the test with help from Blake Redding (Logan Paul)
"The Thinning" takes place in a future plagued by overcrowding where population control is dictated by a high-school aptitude test. When two students (Logan Paul and Peyton List) discover the test is smoke and mirrors hiding a larger conspiracy, they must fight the system to expose it and take it down.
With some fresh actors you probably haven&#39;t seen before, we have another take of a potentially very-near future scenario where the lowest scoring students are executed every year. In a similar vein to movies like The Purge, Divergent, and Hunger Games, this film doesn&#39;t shoot for as much grandeur, but delivers a concise though predictable story line. <br/><br/>Don&#39;t expect too much graphic violence or unnecessary gore, as the movie relies more on implied despair than wild executions. The story keeps a manageable pace that won&#39;t bore you to sleep if it is what you came to watch, but without the viewer already delighted to see some crazy new ideas to improve society enacted in film, this one might miss the mark.
The Thinning is a YouTube red movie that stars young prospect like Peyton list, Lia Marie Johnson and Logan Paul. It is centered around a great idea which kind of follows into a bit of a hunger games and maze runner genre and type of movie. in this film we get to see Logan Pauls acting range and it is shockingly amazing and will be setting up a great career to come. Logan carries majority of the movie with his performances. Logan Paul and Peyton list did not mesh together well and seemed like there was a lack of screen chemistry between them, although this may not be a terrible thing considering how there was a better chemistry between Blake and Elle. this movie has a lot of layers it unfolds and felt like it was an introduction to a series of movies to come and was an outlet to showcase Logan Pauls prosperity and talent.
