Raynor is an undercover narcotics cop. For his next assignment he chooses the more inexperienced but tough and good-looking Kristen. Their ultimate target is Gaines, a renowned but very elusive drug dealer. While doing their work they unexpectedly fall into a morass of drug-addiction and fall in love with each other. Despite subjecting themselves to the life of low-class, one-track junkies they do not get the evidence they want to convict Gaines, and instead are forced into using false evidence in court.
Two small-town Texas cops go undercover to catch a major drug dealer and are sucked into the drug culture, compromising their assignment.
RUSH is an average flick about two narcotics agents who become addicts while trying to bring a drug dealer to justice.  As always, you can expect something cheesy if you watch a movie that was set in Texas, but this movie does have good performances from Jason Patric and Jennifer Jason Leigh, whose role here provides a better Texan than the poor performance she delivered in THE HITCHER.  Gregg Allman&#39;s role as the guy Patric and Leigh buy the drugs from is not bad, but he is not that good of an actor; good thing he kept his day job.  The movie has a great soundtrack led by Eric Clapton&#39;s hit song `Tears in Heaven.&#39;  Not a big success, but I wasn&#39;t disappointed.<br/><br/>3 out of 5
Todd&#39;s review was accurate but as a conservative myself I feel as though the very anti-drug message sent by this movie isn&#39;t really a political thing, it&#39;s a common sense thing and it has never been conservatives trying to censor American from the realisms we face in society I think I remember the liberal agenda around this time being to put warning labels on everything, so I agree that our society was changing as a whole on what was put on the screen but neither party was holding movies like this one back I feel that conservatives as a whole would like the adult to make a decision on what they want to see or if they see it and the left would like the Government to make everyones decisions for them. Just a thought and very very good acting in this one
