  1. Sylas begins the fight by stomping a foot into the ground.
  2.
  3. Immediately, a chunk of rock flew up and levitated in front of him before he hams a fist into it, sending it flying towards Saruk to slam against his chest! The impact was enough to knock the teen back a bit even.
  4.
  5. Another stomp was made, but this time a huge stone pillar would come up under his feet, tossing him into the air before a final boulder comes flying at him.
  6.
  7. "As you can see so far...earth magic is all about being connected to your element. Most of my casting has been through direct touch, so that's a start." he coached in the middle of battle, charging forth once again.
  8. (Sylas Sieghart)
  9. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  10.
  11. [18:49] Arthur took a second as he made himself a little chair in the snow and leaned back the ice still felt wonderful on his skin and that was something he had managed to get most of the rocks off but it was tender. And that was still tender and that tender bit was painful for the most part. Kicking his feet up as he leaned back in his chair to watch the match. It ended as he expect it to for the most part.
  12.
  13. "I tink she need some of dem basics work, like wood cutting and all da."
  14. (Arthur)
  15. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  16.
  17. [18:51] Their second round was more or less the same, though this time around Sylas finishes things off with a rolling wave of mud to wash his opponent away.
  18.
  19. "Alright uh...that's enough sparring for now I guess." With their difference in skill and magic, maybe it'd be best just to talk to him about earth magic for a bit rather than hurl more rocks at him...may be for the best.
  20.
  21. "C'mon, let's talk." he called out, gesturing to the cliffside so they can sit.
  22. (Sylas Sieghart)
  23. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  24.
  25. [18:51] Sylas Sieghart says, "...And what 'she'? That's a guy, clearly."
  26. [18:54] Zala slowly moves towards Sylas and Arthur completely humbled respecting their different levels of skill. He didn't see it as a defeat tho and his pride was far from bruised infact his was grateful to see the potential in earth magic. The element was clearly for him.
  27. "yeah fighting me isn't that interesting any way."
  28. (Saruk Zalapa)
  29. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  30.
  31. [18:55] He took a second as he looked at the boy that he had been calling a girl for a while and then took out his canteen and then took a pull from it letting that wonderful feeling of ale burn its way down his throat. He made himself a bit more comfortable on his snow chair as he looked at the person with some ale in his system to help him see proper. Then he drank a bit more as it cleared up his vision.
  32.
  33. "hmm ya right there, well they need some more of da physical training ta get them their. So got that potion well one of dem.'
  34. (Arthur)
  35. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  36.
  37. [19:00] He shook his head at Arthur's comment.
  38. "Not physical training, but he just needs to learn a bit more about earth magic and how to channel it effectively." he explains, shifting his gaz over to Saruk now.
  39.
  40. "Mmm..."
  41. Humming to himself was something Sylas found himself doing often. Whenever he needed to think or plan something out then this was his go-to. "Well, earth magic is all about channeling your mana through the ground beneath you to manipulate it in whichever way you want. Be it making a rock float, changing the solid ground to mud or making a bunch of spikes plop outta the ground --earth magic can be used for a lot."
  42.
  43. It wasn't the most in-depth explanation, but it was definitely a start.
  44.
  45. "So for starters." Sylas stretched a hand out, clearing a patch of snow from the ground with his magic and revealing solid rock beneath. "Take off your shoes and stand in that circle. I want you to channel your mana through the ground and get a feel for it."
  46. (Sylas Sieghart)
  47. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  48.
  49. [19:01] Zala is confused Arthur's accent. He sounded incredibly foreign and not the sexy kind. He did mind the girl statement as a draknite he had no need for pronouns deciding his mood.
  50.
  51. He was curios about the man as he mentioned wood cutting.
  52. "Wood cutting sounds interesting really. Have to make money one way for now."
  53. (Saruk Zalapa)
  54. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  55.
  56. [19:05] Arthur just took a second as kicked his feet up and he looked a second as he looked at the lesson well it was something to happen. It wasn't the way that he fought for the most part but it was the way that Sylas taught people and most magi of he was being honest. Taking another pull from his canteen as he pushed it into the snow so that it would be able to chill.
  57.
  58. "I would listen ta him he tends ta know what he is doing I tend ta know how ta hit people and da gets da job done mostly."
  59. (Arthur)
  60. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  61.
  62. [19:06] Zala take of his shoes a stands on the snow. He walks to the circle to try and do as instructed by the veteran.
  63. "Hmm.. thought it would be cold." he would stand in upright posture like a soldier before a march, takes a deep breathe closes his eyes.
  64. (Saruk Zalapa)
  65. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  66.
  67. [19:10] Sylas used his magic to turn the snow into water; seems the teen possessed another type of magic aside from earth. Now that the snow was gone though, Saruk was free to focus his mana through the ground with no distractions.
  68.
  69. "Just keep on channeling it through the dirt, and once you feel comfortable enough, try to move your mana and the rock along with it."
  70.
  71. In essence, earth magic was almost like manipulating your mana with an earthen coat really. The only advanced options would be to branch off into another tree or to create rock with your mana itself.
  72.
  73. But baby steps, they had to take their time.
  74. (Sylas Sieghart)
  75. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  76.
  77. [19:16] Zala continues to slowly breathe maintain a calm and gentle demur. He feels the earth he really feels it. Wait mana...what is this Zala had no clue what Sylas was talking about. He opens his eyes to face the veteran.
  78. "Mana...sounds like something important to know about."
  79.
  80. (Saruk Zalapa)
  81. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  82.
  83. [19:16] Arthur just looked a the magi as he grabbed his sword he needed to clean the thing off taking it out and laying it across his lap as he took out a spare cloth and started to go over the thing. It was still pretty clean for the most part and that was how he was going to leave it as he was being honesty. There was a little bit of sap on the blade that he wiped off as he leaned back into the now.
  84.
  85. "Ya think ya gonna be able to get him up to scratch before the thing boils over."
  86. (Arthur)
  87. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  88.
  89. [19:21] The Sieghart squinted his eyes at Saruk's comment.
  90.
  91. "You...don't even know how to use mana?" he questioned, noticing just how much harder this all became in a second. A deep breath was sucked in before he let out a sigh.
  92.
  93. "Being a teacher is nuts..." But it's what he signed up for.
  94.
  95. "Alright, right where you're standing, I'll need you to sit there and get comfortable and just start meditating. Just close your eyes and I want you to focus on something called your 'mana circuitry'. It's something every magi possesses, and once you're meditating a pretty clear image pops into your head." he explains, approaching the teen all the while.
  96.
  97. "It flows throughout your body, and it pools in the stomach, where most mana is located. Once you can visualize it, it becomes much easier to actually feel the mana moving throughout your body. Try it."
  98. (Sylas Sieghart)
  99. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  100.
  101. [19:26] Zala sits in the circle folding his legs and laying his on his sides letting the straighten and relax.
  102. He breathes, deep inhale pause quick exhale. He has a hang of it.
  103. He empties his mind and feel the air flow through him and something else. Was this mana..was this what teacher spoke of.
  104. (Saruk Zalapa)
  105. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  106.
  107. [19:28] He picked up his sword as he looked at the boy try and teach someone how to be a magi well this was going to be funny and if nothing else it was going to be enjoyable to watch for the most part and he was looking to that time when he tried to do something and then broke something. His first time he had hit a tree so hard that he shattered all the bones in his right hand which was a bitch for the most part. But he learnt that he wasn't invincible which was a good lesson to learn.
  108.
  109. Tossing his sword into the air letting it spin for a second before he just caught it on the tip before he tossed it back into the air as he watched and wait. "Thin' he getting it?"
  110. (Arthur)
  111. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  112.
  113. [19:31] "Continue to meditate and get a grasp on the feeling moving through you...then when you feel comfortable enough with its ebb and flow, stick a hand out and see if you can release it in a wave."
  114.
  115. Sylas then stretched his own hand out and released a ripple of mana that'd extend out for a few meters, disturbing the snow in front of them.
  116.
  117. "It's a basic technique, one that requires little mana to do."
  118. (Sylas Sieghart)
  119. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  120.
  121. [19:36] He gave his sword another strong toss into the air waiting it spin for a while watching the sun catch the blade before he shifted himself to the right to let it come back down the force of the thing coupled with the weight drove the point into the ground as he picked it back up and look at the boy that Sylas was teaching. Wiping the dust off the blade he remade his chair and leaned back to see what the boy would do next.
  122.
  123.
  124. (Arthur)
  125. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  126.
  127. [19:38] e
  128. (Saruk Zalapa)
  129. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  130.
  131. [19:42] Zala is in his element he hears what the two say but doesn't give it thought.
  132. He extends his left arm as if pushing something. Feeling the mana flow from his stomach to his extended hand and exit in a wave that disturbs the thin snow in the circle. He slowly opens his eyes smiling he is happy he had done it.
  133. (Saruk Zalapa)
  134. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  135.
  136. [19:45] Sylas nodded his head.
  137.
  138. "Alright, for now you can just work on your mana-flow training I suppose; I don't wanna overwhelm you with too much when you're just getting a hang of the basics. Maybe later we can dive deeper into Earth magic." He found that it was best to work on one thing at a time, especially for beginners.
  139.
  140. "So find me later and we can get to working on it some more."
  141. His gaze then shifts over to Arthur beside him. "How 'bout you, learn anything new?"
  142. (Sylas Sieghart)
  143. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  144.
  145. [19:51] Zala stands on his feet. He looks down at his naked feet he didn't feel like putting on the shoes again.
  146. "Well...there goes my need for shoes." he would decide not to put his shoes on again they seem mundane. He turns to Arthur "What about the woodcutting. I need work after all."
  147. (Saruk Zalapa)
  148. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  149.
  150. [19:57] He took a second as he pulled himself up to his feet dusting the snow off of him and as looked at the boy. Well there was as good deal of thing that had happened him since last night if he was being honest. Picking up the sword as he rested it on his shoulder looking at Zalapa.
  151.
  152. "Well da first thin about wood cutting it ta find a good tree ya need something wrong and steady if ya gonna work on it. Or else ya wont get much good wood from it but other than that ya could make do and sell them to the market."
  153.
  154. As for Sylas took a second as he started to let out a whistle as he called to the wind. Making a little gust in his hand as he looked at him before throwing it over his shoulder. "Been gotten a bit better with tings."
  155. (Arthur)
