  1. [12:08] Eagleheart says, "You. Name and allegiance."
  2. [12:08] Terrian says, "Terrian and no one."
  3. [12:09] Eagleheart says, "Very well. Keep on your way. May your path be well lit."
  4. [12:10] Terrian scratches his head, looking at the two.. he's never seen anyone like them, he decided to turn away before any trouble would brew.
  5. (Terrian)
  6. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  7.
  8. [13:16] Face meets ore.
  9. (Ashley)
  10. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  11.
  12. [13:19] Eagleheart's attention is quickly taken by the demon. The obvious corruption that it exhaled was far too potent to be confused with the ones from the other nearby, lesser demons. Arkgvunde by himself was far more potent than all of those.
  13.
  14. Much to the hunter's displeasure. The holy light near him shimmered, as if repulsing the occult that accompanied the Demon. "Finally.", the voice under the mask muttered, resonating in the porcelain and the armor itself.
  15.
  16. It carried the serenity of an ocean's breeze, before a sigh echoed under it. A flare of holy energy, the man with the eagle's drawing on the mask jumped to stand in the demon's way, a hand clad in yellow-painted mythril risen towards him.
  17.
  18. "You, Demon. Surrender, and this will be quick. Let us do this the easy way." Even with its own serene tone, the words were also tinted with a harshness that no other being other than one of the unholy ones would find themselves target of.
  19. (Eagleheart)
  20. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  21. [13:27] Owlight was almost dying out of boringness right now. He was mostly watching as Eaglehart was killing the weaker Demons a few moments earlier, using the light from his aura to be able to see within the depths of a dark cave.
  22.
  23. And then, his partner seemed to have taken interest in a specific Demon within the others. Perhaps it was a stronger one? With a mind like the ones of Gaiar Aetherius, not a senseless beast that roams caves for food? That means..
  24.
  25. "Finally indeed."
  26.
  27. The feminine voice that kept changing from a woman's to a male's tone. Clear signs of sound magic being used to hide his true gender. Just a safeguard for what they were doing within those caves, after all.
  28.
  29. "Can you handle this one, Eagleheart? I am trying to save myself for the 'target' I have in mind. You can warm up against this.. Creature."
  30.
  31. A clear sign of disgust on their tone, and even a little disinterest.
  32. (Owlight)
  33. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  34.
  35. [13:30] Arkgvunde's daily ritual of stripmining the desolate canvas out of this mountain was interrupted.
  36.
  37. Captain Planet would be spared today.
  38.
  39. Contrary to opening up with any verbal expression that might've indicated the intelligence of a normal Demon, Arkgvunde decided that something else should come out when it opened its mouth. A whole years' worth of destroying the caverns and damaging the environs started pouring out of the mouth.
  40.
  41. Various minerals acted like wet concrete, and started plugging up the floor with an absurd amount of Mythril, Adamantite, Steel, the whole lot.
  42.
  43. But... Why?
  44. (Arkgvunde Vel'heim)
  45. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  46.
  47. [13:41] The expression was hidden behind the mask. Unchanged, unwavering, yet it still stared so directly towards the demon in front of him. There was something on it that stood out among the other demons. Something about its very essence, maybe the potential for growth that it exacerbated above all others?
  48.
  49. The earth thrums slightly underneath the ores that were dropped down on the ground. The mask faces briefly in the direction of those, before it turns towards the demon yet again. There was no concern for those as the mythril greaves strode down the steps, leaving the holy marks as footprints.
  50.
  51. "Wealth is not what we seek, Demon. Just like the others in this cave..." Eagleheart continued forth, and upon finally descending a few steps, revealed the growing collection of bodies behind him. "You will face retribution for your kin's horrible deeds."
  52.
  53. A Nyeshk blade was quickly taken from their hilt, scraping against the ground as he continued walking towards the demon. Easy, tranquil. Even if his intents were hostile, there was a certain odd sense of... Serenity in his words.
  54.
  55. It was as if he was almost thinking twice about this. Almost hesitant to bring an end to a life. "Kneel on the ground, and your end shall be swift." He ordered, closing the distance, yet still ignoring all the ores.
  56. (Eagleheart)
  57. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  58.
  59. [13:45] The ores, predictably, should've been acting like a wet concrete mix.
  60.
  61. That is, after all, what digestive acids do to things over time; Things break down, or at the very least, soften around the edges.
  62.
  63. Well.
  64.
  65. Nobody would really understand how a Demon's internal digestive system would be able to handle this, all things considered; Aren't they limited to similar foods and such?
  66.
  67. For that matter, it was questionably ambiguous why a Demon would just randomly throw useful things at people that were obviously hostile, by contrast.
  68.
  69. Arkgvunde still refrained from talking, or even responding in a cohesive manner.
  70.
  71. Indeed, it just stood there like a deer in the headlights, sitting in the midst of its moderate Occult throughput. As Eagleheart drew down the steps, the drakeling had to look down to properly see them.
  72. (Arkgvunde Vel'heim)
  73. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  74.
  75. [13:47] Arkgvunde , true to form, just stood there. Doopedoo.
  76. (Arkgvunde Vel'heim)
  77. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  78.
  79. [13:47] * You have been awarded 1 Roleplay Points! *
  80. [13:50] The crusader still sought to make it right by himself. It didn't matter if this one, no matter its power, was too dumb to respond. If it hadn't been graced with the wisdom that the ones that ascended often had, it wasn't his problem.
  81.
  82. Unfortunate. Growing closer to the drakelike demon, the sword was finally brandished upon thin air. It was obvious that he wasn't going to stop, as Eagleheart finally pushed a single foot against the stone stairs-- Aiming to get out of the concrete-like mixture.
  83.
  84. And quickly, he landed right besides the demon, shattering the ground underneath his feet, until the sword was brandished. To finally put an end to this situation.
  85. (Eagleheart)
  86. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  87.
  88. [13:56] Mines
  89. (Zabuza)
  90. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  91.
  92. [13:57] Eagleheart sent blow after blow towards Arkgvunde. The yellow blade, just like the armor itself, gleamed with the holy energy that resonated upon its whole form, filling the room with a bright light of hope. It overpowered the demon's occult, specially when the demon stood between him and Owlight.
  93.
  94. Their strikes were quick and powerful, and some of them, almost sent the demon flying away, but their quick movements were more than enough to keep up with the pace, sending the Demon into what would more than likely be a world of pain.
  95.
  96. Unpleasant, yes, but not deadly or actually harmful. The strikes were mostly shallow or overall incapable of doing some long-term hurt, but the scars of holy energy would more than likely stick for a while upon the demon's corrupted skin.
  97.
  98. Retribution comes.
  99. (Eagleheart)
  100. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  101.
  102. [14:02] The Demon continued to refuse to move for just about the entire encounter. Absolutely no input on their part, just...
  103.
  104. Waiting?
  105.
  106. This may very well have been a surreal experience, someone just finding a Demon that didn't really care about anything, even if they were occasionally being slashed or burned at.
  107.
  108. Towards the end of the confusion, the Giga opened their mouth yet again.
  109.
  110. This time, instead of firing wet cement-like ores at the duo, it deemed it necessary to grab them from a range. But how? All it had was size, and--
  111.
  112. The same exact mechanic of throwing projectiles a long distance could just as easily be reversed. It formed a short wind funnel with the little miniature jetstream it was trying to will into being.
  113.
  114. Unfortunately, while this was more-or-less successful in getting the ore, the drakeling forgot one thing that was kind of important to this;
  115.
  116. Air pressure.
  117.
  118. Arkgvunde is almost immediately thrown southwards with their minerals without any winged or other propulsory assistance, being slingshot around with little rhyme or reason. It eventually faded from view, having passed by/tumbled through one too many rocky eaves and passages in the opposite direction of Eagleheart.
  119. (Arkgvunde Vel'heim)
  120. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  121.
  122. [14:05] Owlight says, "."
  123. [14:06] "Fuck." The Paladin spoke out. His first demon had just went away, after being the subject of a massive beating by his blade. The strikes were insurmountable, destructive and nevertheless...
  124.
  125. The demon was able to get away. It waited and waited, and yet, this reminded him of something else. A sigh as the demon finally ran away, too fast for Eagleheart to keep up with the chase.
  126.
  127. "I can't believe he actually got away." A shake of his head, Eagleheart came back to the former spot they were on. Atop the small rocky cliff that lied in the middle of the cave, they waited for another one to appear by.
  128.
  129. "Change spots?"
  130. (Eagleheart)
  131. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  132.
  133. [14:11] Owlight watched all of that with a bored gaze, even if it wouldn't be able to be seen because of his mask. While beating down a Demon was actually a good thing, having it not fighting back at all was far too weird.
  134.
  135. "Well, now the others will know about us. I suppose that's both good and bad."
  136.
  137. A shrug, as he looked around the area. If that Demon actually went to tell others about what just happened, they would end up being surrounded in no time. A soft sigh escapes his mouth, considering that this day was a bit better on the hunt- But yet, with no true results.
  138.
  139. "Or maybe go back. We might be attacked with a big group if that Demon comes back here. You know how they work."
  140. (Owlight)
  141. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  142.
  143. [14:16] "I say we go back, then." He said, before moving back towards the stairs. The sword ran through the air in a singular strike, sending the remainders of the demon's blood around. It was obvious that Eagleheart had still need for... Improvement.
  144.
  145. "I don't want to get attacked on our second day. Well. We don't even know if he'll come back, to be honest." His head moves as to scout the whole environment surrounding them, a faint thrum around the ground echoing on the nearby demons.
  146.
  147. "He'll seek reinforcement in Crafthold or Dawn from the way he went. Let's go the other way." He finished off, finally starting to move out.
  148. (Eagleheart)
