Greetings Dan,

This is very helpful.  I did get a letter already from Ginny Ehrlich expressing interest in solidifying the CGI commitment and exploring ways that the Clinton Foundation Health Matters initiative may fit with the Prosperity Initiative.

I would like to be in the loop on the MacArthur Foundation follow ups – a number of threads there.  I don’t have any plans to follow up with the CGI staff myself but would also like to be kept in the loop.

Also, during the special reception with Clinton (in which I told him his wife was awesome J) we met Lionell Rabb with the MGR Foundation.  After hearing about the poverty issues in Oregon he said he would like to visit and learn more.  Are any of you familiar with him/ MGR?

Thought it would help to get this down on paper so we have orderly follow-up process.

1-Vilsack meeting:

–I am working with Sarah Bittleman on the federalism 2.0 infrastructure and investment convening next step we agreed on and will brief Scott
–Will work with 1st lady on local food contacts she had interest in

2-Energy Muni-Lighting mtg per Scott
–they owe us a proposal
–have briefed Margi H

3-Ginny Ehrlich, Clinton Foundation and Alliance for Healthy Generation (Wellness)
–we are talking today about the CGI commitment we are making together
–then I do a deeper brief for Mike Bonetto (we spoke yesterday)

4-HUD Secretary Donovan
–have sent my friend, his chief of staff, the 10 year budget data he was interested in
–also working with her on Portland trip details when they come, and have spoken to head of NOAH in Oregon to stay looped together on that trip which may well involve closing a major grant to M Power which involves NOAH and the CEWO-Blue tree expansion to affordable housing retrofits that we don’t want to step on in any way

5-Macarthur Foundation
–Ben to draft general thank you letter to Debra Schwartz from the Governor and First Lady
–While this was an exciting meeting with president of Fdn, head of US programs and other program officers, we need to go SLOW here in wisely scoping out what kinds of asks make sense given the number of people who were at the table from Macarthur and the number of asks that Oregon NGOs already have in
–Immediate next step is for me to see where the Governor-Blumenaeur Social Impact Bond proposal is at with other funders; as this could be one of our possible asks and we might want Cong Blumenaeur to make the ask not us
–Curtis also asked to chat with Duncan Wyse about ideas
–Send me others and then we reassemble

6-Bill Clinton to Oregon?
–First Lady started a thread on this.
–DGA Policy Forum in September?
–Push for CGI University in Oregon?
–I would like to be looped if we are working with CGI staff
