  1. Overview
  2. The process of trying to produce giant chickens by modifying chicken DNA with dinosaur DNA is legal. There are many companies that produce genetically modified organisms (GMOs). However, the process of getting specifically giant chickens legally approved to sell on the market will be difficult. Only one genetically modified (GM) animal has ever made it past extensive checks – the AquaBounty salmon. Even this U.S. based startup can only sell its product in Canada, because Congress doesn’t know how to label this food product.
  3. Currently, CrispyGen isn’t in compliance with any regulations from the US as the company is already serving its unregulated, untested tricera-chicken dinners to customers.
  4. Legality
  5. According to the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) regulates all GM livestock. If you are looking for approval for giant chickens in the United States, you must submit a “New Animal Drug Application” to the FDA. CrispyGen must submit this application that includes exhaustive information on a variety of topics ranging from identification, chemistry, manufacturing methods, and environmental impact of its giant chickens.
  6. According to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), if the process to produce these tricera-chickens places extreme strain on the environment, CrispyGen is also required to submit an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
