* Arachnae waits on her responses from her old friends, Lucus, the fixer she's currently working with, and Murphy, who'd already gotten out of the business.
* Arachnae notices the message, and promptly calls Lucus up.
<Lucus> "Babe, that you? I don't know what trouble you got into, but goddamn whatever happened."
<Arachnae> "... Wait, what happened? Oh god, don't tell me they didn't wipe the feeds before we left."
<Arachnae> "Wait, is this line secure?"
<Lucus> "Secure as a baby's diaper. I got Lou running comms. And what feeds do you mean?"
<Arachnae> "Oh, okay, you /weren't/ talking about the bank thing. Robbed a bank."
<Lucus> "Oh, was that your work on th'news? The bawling spider?"
<Arachnae> "Yeah. Surprisingly, easy job.
<Arachnae> "Made me realize I need to beef up my magic game, though. Thus, the message."
<Lucus> "Well, ya see, I had Lou sweep the entire place down. After your spook, I had to close down to make sure nuttin' else was being leaked."
<Arachnae> "Oh? What happened?"
<Lucus> "Not good for business for a bar to close, babe. You be careful next time."
<Arachnae> "Yeah, I know.."
<Lucus> "Ennyways, you wanted to know about a talismonger?"
<Arachnae> "Yeah. One with some of the /really/ good stuff."
<Lucus> "The good stuff, eh?"
<Lucus> "Here's the thing."
<Arachnae> "I don't need it now, mind, cause I can't afford it yet, but you know how far in  advance you need to start lookning for this shit to get it.."
<Lucus> "I do know a guy. Probably more paranoid than th'other guy I sent ya to about the SIN."
<Lucus> "Problem is,"
<Lucus> "The area I knew he was last in was overrrun by an HMMV breakout."
<Arachnae> "...Oh god damnit."
<Arachnae> "Well... He's not going to steal my soul or anything, right?"
<Lucus> "Yeeah. Nasty thing. He did message me shortly before that he'd be going off the wire for a bit of time. Taking the chance to commune with the spirits, if you will."
<Arachnae> "Ah, yeah..."
<Arachnae> "That kinda thing can do a number on yer' potential, though it's not like ware where it goes away forever... I think. Been a while."
<Arachnae> "Anyways, you know how I might be able to contact him?"
<Lucus> "Well, best thing I c'n do for ya is to give you his handle."
<Lucus> "Goes by The Moor."
<Arachnae> "That's fine with me. If all else fails, Murphy probably knows a guy."
<Arachnae> "Isn't that a different tradition? I can't use the Arabic stuff."
<Arachnae> ((Actually, nevermind that last line.))
<Arachnae> "He's shamanic, you say? That name'd kiiinda imply other traditions..."
<Lucus> "Guy's more of jack of all trades. Not sure how, but whatever ya need, the guy can do. I will warn you he's a hard sell."
<Lucus> "Doesn't want money or nuttin'"
<Arachnae> "... Really?"
<Arachnae> "There goes plan A, then."
<Lucus> "Like I said, guy's a kook."
<Lucus> "Anyways, I don't know where he is right now."
<Lucus> "Best thing to do,"
<Arachnae> "That's fine, as long as I don't need to extract him from Bug City or some shit."
<Lucus> "is to keep asking around other mongers. They have a sorta hate love relation with the guy."
<Arachnae> "Ah. So they might know how to get into contact with him, then. ... What do you mean love-hate?"
<Lucus> "Well, he's done a lot for the community. But he's also done a lot to make 'em fuckin' angry. Be a bit mindful when you mention him, girl."
<Arachnae> "You know me, tact is what I do."
<Lucus> "Well, sorry I can't do much more. I'd look for him myself, but I'm busy hunting down this damn bug. Lou says he keeps detecting something, but he can't access it for some goddamn reason. I think the kid's lazy."
<Arachnae> "Nah. This Maestro guy confounded both hackers on our last job, and got the feeds. No one noticed him the whole fucking time."
<Arachnae> "Is good."
<Arachnae> "Not sure why he needs us, TBH."
<Lucus> "Maestro, is it?"
<Arachnae> "Yeah. Heard of him?"
<Lucus> "Pssshhhhh...."
<Lucus> "Rings some sorta bell."
<Arachnae> "Speaks in Medieval?"
<Arachnae> "Spells is M43STRO or something like that?"
<Lucus> "Slow down, Arachnae, I don't know."
<Arachnae> "... You're right. Sorry, hon, just..."
<Arachnae> "... Worried, you know?"
<Lucus> "Well, it was something before your time. Before even 2.0, in fact."
<Lucus> "There was somethin' about a hacker kid or something. Called himself Maestro."
<Arachnae> "THAT far back?... Jesus fuck. Might be an AI, then."
<Lucus> "AI? Well, might as well have been a damn Dragon the way the rumors spread about him."
<Arachnae> "... that bodes ill."
<Lucus> "O'course, 2.0 basically erased all information about that sort of thing."
<Arachnae> "Yeah... Ugh. Thanks for the info, man."
<Lucus> "Although, if that guy is responsible for buggin' my bar, I'd like to show that bastard a thing or two."
<Lucus> "No problem Arachae. Stay safe."
