        growing up, YUE was quite content with her life. she gets every toy she wants, have people do things for her, lives in a big house, have many friends. she's basically a princess! but, she still gets lonely at times as her parents are busy people and had no time to play with her. she wished she had a little sister who can play with her and braid each other's hair.
        time passed by, and when YUE was six, she came- a beautiful baby sister, given the name BÁI YĪNG XUĚ. YUE had never been more happy in her six-year-lifespan. they grew close, closer than twins could ever get, and had the best of times with each other.
        then, school started. they then realised that being the daughters of a well known congressman means having to live up to people's expectations- and boy, they learned it the hard way.
YUE never had any problems with school or social life- she does good at school (with many, many hours spent doing exercises and homework), has a good reputation- she's everything someone would want in a daughter. her sister, on the other hand, wasn't as good as her sister- and to her father, that's a huge no-no.
        according to her father, YING XUE's performance in school would bring down his good name, and he absolutely doesn't want that. then, came the intense training for YING XUE but no matter the effort, her grades only got a few percent higher. with the stress of work on her father's shoulders, added by YING XUE's grades and multiplied by his wife's financial problems, he took out all his anger on YING XUE. at first, it was just light smacks from a rolled up newspaper- but slowly, it became worse. at this point, her father is just using YING XUE as his personal punching bag.
        when YUE found out that her sister was getting abused, she refused to sit still and do nothing. and so, she picked up martial arts and started training to protect her younger sister. in other words, her sister is her most treasured person. you treat her sister like shit, then oh no sister, you pressed the wrong button. from then on, she would always stick by her sister 24/7 and defend her whenever her dad gets angry.
        nevertheless, that might not be such a good idea. now, not only does her father hates YING XUE, he's also starting to dislike YUE. he'd find ways to make YUE and YING XUE suffer through many different ways, and they're not just physical attacks. due to that, YUE transformed from miss goody two shoes to the badass rebel. she does all she can to bring down her father's name, and god, was he furious.
        the tension between YUE and her father got thicker, especially when the elections are nearing. congressman bae would do anything to get the title mayor and YUE would do anything to fail her father.
        then, her father came up with a plan. he agreed to get YUE into an arranged marriage with KANG DANIEL, an idol loved both in korea and internationally. not only would he get more votes and support, YUE marrying DANIEL would mean having to face with crazy fangirls and negative comments on the internet. with YUE being in the spotlight, she'd have to behave herself if she doesn't want criticism on her way. sounds like a perfect plan for her father.
        little did he know that YUE is conspiring against him.

✦✦ CHOI SEUNGCHEOL. normal life, normal childhood, normal family. wasn't rich, but neither was he poor. just the life YUE wanted.
        all the way since back in middle school, SEUNGCHEOL found a talent of rapping and composing. with the help of his friend LEE JIHOON, they experimented with some beats and wrote lyrics, and later it became some sort of routine of his. get inspired, write lyrics, tweak some tunes, rap, then boom, he got an mp3 file in his laptop.
        somewhere in high school, he mingled with people who had the same interests as he does; JEON WONWOO, KIM MINGYU and CHOI HANSOL. they made multiple tracks together and posted it on soundcloud, and surprisingly, they got good feedback.
        at some point, a bit before graduating high school, they formed a group of rappers and called themselves SEVENTEEN. they started getting active as underground rappers, and boy were they loved.
        they became quite popular as underground rappers, and people would often listen to their tracks on soundcloud. though, SEUNGCHEOL still appreciates his personal space and really don't want people to look into his life, and so he started wearing masks. doesn't really matter what mask, can be those masks idols often wear, the head of a bear mascot, masquerade masks- you name it. he also made HANSOL wear masks too, just for fun. at some point, it became his identity. he goes by the name S.COUPS.

✧ʜᴏᴡ ꜱʜᴇ ᴀɴᴅ ʜᴇʀ ʟ/ɪ ᴍᴇᴛ°
✦✦ actually, YUE had been listening to SEVENTEEN for quite a long time on soundcloud. now that she had some free time, she suddenly thought of checking out the venue where underground rappers usually perform.
        with IDEA tagging along (she claimed that she's gonna go cute-rapper-hunting), the pair headed to the venue, all while looking around. you see, they aren't exactly experienced with this type of place, and everything was new and interesting. once they found a good spot, they finally sat down and enjoyed the rap battles filled night. YUE and IDEA even wanted to try having a diss battle one day.
        it was almost nearing 2am, and yet SEVENTEEN was still nowhere to be seen. just as the girls stood up to leave, a group of four males (with two of them wearing masks) came up the stage, checking their mics and all as the crowd gets bigger. this time, the leader (as far as YUE remembers, his name had something to do with scoops) said that they will be presenting a freshly made song, and a more chill vibed rap. the title was beautiful, YUE thought. "lean on me" then became her favourite song.
       that day, YUE was glad she suddenly had the urge to check out the underground rappers, as she managed to watch her favourites rap. YUE and IDEA continued to stick around that place for a while, a bit until nearly 4am. then, they called it a night (more like morning) and went off to different directions as their houses are located far away from each other.
       YUE wasn't that far from the venue yet- maybe not even 1km, when she heard someone following her. she quickened her steps, just to suddenly stop and drop kicked the guy that was tailing her. after several interrogations, she found out that he just wanted to return her purse that she dropped back there. also, his name was CHOI SEUNGCHEOL. and he's hella cute.
       after retrieving her purse (which contained her phone and wallet, and id card, she was thankful), she got up and offered her hand to the male who reluctantly grasped it and tried to get up. keyword being tried.
       unsurprisingly, YUE actually fractured his ankle, so there's there. he also might have got a nosebleed. feeling guilty, MING YUE flagged down a cab and helped him limp to the nearest hospital.
       YUE would've sent him all the way to the register, but SEUNGCHEOL insisted that YUE should be home by then (it was almost 5am anyways), and so she left. but of course, she handed him her card, for, you know, if there's anything she should pay for (and totally not because she found him cute).

✧ᴛʜᴇ ʀᴇʟᴀᴛɪᴏɴꜱʜɪᴘ°
✦✦ beginning ─ YUE and SEUNGCHEOL did have bad first impressions (well, she was the reason he had to go to a hospital so), but that didn't stop SEUNCHEOL from considering to text her. god knows how many times his thumb hovered over the 'send' button. at some point, he just yolo-ed and texted YUE. the first few weeks, they just had normal conversations, ranging from "how you doing?" to "have a nice day", but as time pass, they passed the awkward strangers phase and became closer. through text. a few months passed and SEUNGCHEOL braved himself to ask YUE to meet up (he had to convince himself it was just a hangout), and they did. their second meet after the drop kick incident took place in hongdae (YUE wanted to buy him something, because she was still guilty for hurting him). then, they meet up every week or so.

✦✦ middle ─ when YUE's father informed her (and the whole world) about her engagement with KANG DANIEL, YUE was enraged. first of all, she had no say in this. second of all, she knew this was all to make her behave. third of all, she also knew that it was to get more support. she really wanted to lash out and argue with her father, but when reconsidered, it wouldn't bring any harm to her dad, but to herself. and so, YUE had to go along with the whole arranged marriage thing.
        not gonna lie, SEUNGCHEOL felt hurt when he found out YUE was engaged to KANG DANIEL. though, they still continued texting and meeting up.
        you see, SEUNGCHEOL had actually developped a little crush on YUE when he first saw her. no, it wasn't love at first sight, but more like 'ohmygod she's hot' at first sight. after getting to know her, that 'ohmygod she's hot' turned into something much, much more complicated.
        one day, SEUNGCHEOL thought of confessing to her, just for the sake of getting that heavy feeling off his chest. he really didn't expect YUE to like him back, because he thought YUE was about to marry DANIEL.
        and he didn't expect dating someone who's engaged to an idol (a really popular one, too) would be so hard.

        everything and everyone was ready; the wedding hall, the rings, the decorations, the honeymoon preparations, the bridesmaid's dress- heck, YUE even already went dress testing!
        everything is just so overwhelming, YUE just wants to curl up in a ball and have an ugly breakdown. she did not dream for her marriage to be like this! she didn't imagine that she'd marry someone for the sake of power, and she didn't imagine that she'd marry someone she didn't love, no matter how cute they are!
        for a whole three days YUE refused to get out of her room or eat, no matter how much SEUNGCHEOL and YUE's friends try to coax her.
        when the big day arrived, to say that YUE was a mess was an understatement. mascara running down, smudged eyeshadow, puffy eyes, strays of hair everywhere. the ceremony had to wait for YUE for about an hour!
        while walking down the aisle, arms locked with her father, YUE's mind went blank. how was she supposed to walk? how do someone breathe? was she supposed to kiss DANIEL after this? where's SEUNGCHEOL?
        and when her sister YING XUE crashed the wedding looking like an even madder madwoman than YUE (yes, YING XUE was threatening to attack someone with a real butcher knide in hand), she felt like her brain stopped processing things.
        she didn't know what she was doing, but for once, she's gonna "do now, think later". she headed straight to where SEUNGCHEOL was seated at and full on kissed him on the lips (which he wordlessly returned), making the whole hall turn quiet.

        as she was considering, S.COUPS suddenly took off his brown bag, quite startling the chinese female. she was ready to kick him where the sun doesn't shine, but when she saw that familiar face grinning like a cute dork he is.
        YUE could've sworn she felt genuinely scared at that time. with her heart still beating rapidly, she punched SEUNGCHEOL square in the arm, nagging the male.

        after handing SEUNGCHEOL a helmet, YUE told him to 'hold on tight', and before he could react, YUE twisted the accelerator, zooming down the road and into the busier streets of seoul.
        without any thoughts, SEUNGCHEOL semi-screamed, all while hugging YUE as tight as he could. when YUE slowed down and finally stopped, SEUNGCHEOL released a relieved sigh, still backhugging her. when YUE tried to pry off his hands, SEUNGCHEOL childishly tightened his grasp.

        the gaming room smelled strongly of his cologne. the curtains were shut close, letting no light enter the room. packets of snacks were scattered everywhere- both opened and unopened ones.
        SEUNGCHEOL finally spilled the beans. he finally got to the highest level in some game he's been playing, and he wanted to boast to YUE and play it with her.
        YUE, being supportive and all, went along with it and grabbed a gaming console. before starting the game, the couple made themselves comfortable first; we're talking about pillow forts, stolen hoodies (and kisses), blankets and snacks within their reaching limit.
