Edison Hunter Killer Battle Armor
	The worst kept secret in the Inner Sphere, the Edison HKBA was part of an accidental leak during the reconstruction efforts on Terra that broadcast the design specifications of it and its companion carrier, the Kettering HK VTOL, to the entire Inner Sphere and most of the Periphery. The battlesuit, originally called the Sagan after a Terran scientist of the 20th century, was in the final stages of development when the Coalition came knocking on Terra’s door.

Capabilities:
	The notes attached to the design specifications stated that the Edison was to be used as an “Urban Pacification Unit”, but the armament, a Word manufactured Anti-Personnel Gauss Rifle and a Firedrake Needler along with a Light TAG unit, belied that notion as little more than a smokescreen. Instead, the Edison is used as a headhunting unit, where it’s middling speed and vicious armament are best served.

Deployment:
	As a consequence of the information leak, just about every power in the Inner Sphere has the design specifications of the suit, if not the capability of production, owing to the Edison’s advanced weaponry. For those states that cannot produce either of the Edison’s weapons, an enterprising design firm, Hephaestus Arms, released a version that utilized a Magshot and a Light Machine Gun in place of the original’s weapons. Much to the consternation of both the Republic and Hephaestus, this version was also leaked to the wider Inner Sphere.
	Obviously as an assassination unit, the Edison’s missions are generally not well publicized, but in a well known event that solidified the Edison as an effective Hunter Killer suit was in 3112, when a formerly unknown cell of Blakist sympathizers assassinated the Planetary Governor of Bernardo, Edward Hamilton, using the Edison suit in its standard configuration. The initial attack failed when elements of the Governor’s bodyguards noticed the suits attempting to line up shots on the Governor’s motorcade and opened fire, killing one of the six Blakist suits at the cost of all four of the BA suited bodyguads. The sacrifice enabled Hamilton to open the distance between the attackers and the Governor, but the Blakists soon caught up and, using their TAG systems painted Hamilton’s armored limo, enabling another group of terrorists to volley SRM rounds into the vehicle, killing Governor Hamilton.
	This event, and a number of other high profile killings, including the murder of noted samurai war epic actor Chet Harewood by a disgruntled Yakuza clan has made the Edison into a byword for “difficult case” in law enforcement and intelligence circles throughout the Inner Sphere.

Notable Units:
The Crimson Hand: The group of Blakist assassins that killed Governor Hamilton, the Crimson Hand stayed a step ahead of the RAF and its Department of Military Intelligence for almost twenty years, when in 3129, a Dropship carrying the Crimson Hand was discovered at a port authority on Skye, leading to a massive shootout between the Blakists and local RAF forces, ending with the deaths of a company of infantry, a lance of BattleMechs, all of the Crimson Hand and over 300 million Stones in damages to the port after the Hand’s Dropship detonated.
