  1. Title: Playtest - Thirdspace - AGI Federation
  2.
  3. Game: Thirdspace is a GMless game dealing with coffee and conversation. Players take on two roles: the humble barrister serving coffee, and the humble customer drinking said coffee. Barristers must use their expertise in brewing coffee to navigate tense social situations and interrogate secretive customers.
  4.
  5. Setting: ...when the Corporate Buyout Wars ended, the surviving megacorporations (ruled by powerful supercomputers known as AGIs) inherited a Solar System filled to the brim with wonderful technology and yet empty of life. The megacorporations put their surviving employees within utopian simulations to better "exploit" their human resources, and then banded together to create the "AGI Federation".
  6.
  7. Transhuman police officers protect the AGI Federation from its many internal and external threats: the Drifters (rogue AGIs who wish to destroy the Federation), the Irrationals (humans that are disillusioned by the endless hedonism of the utopian simulations and seek to escape to dystopian reality), and the Players (inter-dimensional horrors that disrupt the functioning of the AGI Federation and its simulations for their own entertainment).
  8.
  9. How do Transhuman police officers cope with their stressful job? Coffee. That's where the automated barristers come in, brewing coffee according to a Transhuman's specifications. Yet though a barrister might not get shot at, they too are directly exposed to the dirty underbelly of the AGI Federation. After all, a coffee shop is "a liminal space in which a myriad of people gather to socialise, work, escape temporarily from the day to day, or even find a place of community". Which means the enemies of the AGI Federation lurk here too.
  10.
  11. The X-Card will be in use and enforced for this game.
  12.
  13. Inspirations: The Matrix, Inception, The Futurological Congress, Syndicate (1993 video game), The Experience Machine (thought experiment), The Ones Who Walk Away From Omeals

  15. Expect: Deaths, Treason, Dark Comedy, Hostile World, PvP Combat, Semi-Cooperative/Semi-Competitive Gameplay, Fear and Ignorance, Coffee and Conversation
