- Greetings, ladies and gentlemen of /x/ - /jp/, it is been a long time and it's good to be back. Well, that's enough of the greetings. Let's get this started!
- It's was the 17 October 2024 in Bretagne, France. There was damned clouds almost everywhere, expect in Bretagne and I REALLY didn't want to miss the comet Tsuchinshan and the Hunter's supermoon in the same bloody night! For stargazers, astronomers or even occultists, this is one of a lifetime night! Well, long story short, I was camping on a damn good spot for it.
- The sky was clean with no light form the cities and stuff and Tsuchinshan slowly revealed herself in the sunset, the moon were about to rise next to the comet because night began to fall and then stars revealed themselves. The supermoon and the comet were next to each other and then I felt a damned painful headache, like one of my bloody sense was overloading with something and in the middle of nowhere! Well, I tried to shrug it off and go to sleep early.
- Then, I woke up in a dense and huge forest and I felt by instinct than it's was a mystic one. The trees were tall and dense by impossible magnitudes for terrestrials one and were form unknowns species, but golden light still managed to sneak into the dense canopy and the mix of them made beautiful rays of gold, there were different animals like small mammals, birds and insects. (I guess? I also, never saw those species.) Well, I was more than happy because those are my favourite kind of environments and my headache was gone so I proceeded to walk deep into the forest. There was the sound of water flowing and the birds singing and suddenly get in a large clearing with lakes of black water and a damned huge covenant on the center of it! The tip of the covenant reached beyond my sight and the sky was like night-time and all stars shined like jewels but everything was visible like day-time, I headed to the covenant and pushed one of the huge wooden doors! Surprisingly there wasn't any resistance form the door and I entered the monastery with ease or even; I was welcomed here! There was huge amount of armors and weapons on the ground and they must have belong to fallen warriors form a another time, space, reality or whatever it was. All I know is the armors and weapons looked like mythology, fantasy, sci-fi form old Europe, closest resemblence I could find was Warhammer 40000. they have defended something inside those walls and their ground with their valour and honour. I felt that in my the deepest of me and shed a tear for those nameless warriors and I heard a very familiar young female voice behind me.
- “You were incredibly hard to find...”
- I turn around and it was Yukari but in a younger form like a 18 year old European teenager. Or maybe she was in superposition like it's Yukari in spirit but Maribel in body...
- I replied : “How a young lady like you with the ability of manipulating boundaries and other weird concepts have a hard time finding someone? Well, despite that, it is good to see you again Mary.”
- “Well, it is good to see you too. And to answer your question; This forest are boundless so it's like finding one in a ocean of infinities. By the way, what are you doing exploring a place like this?”
- “Well you see Mary, like usual, I followed my instinct and suddenly I got in front of a clearing with this huge covenant in the centre of it and since I really love the atmosphere of mysterious monasteries in the middle of a mystic forest, I naturally go for it. While I am at it, You Mary, would you like grant me the pleasure to accompanying me on my quest to reach the top of this covenant?”
- “I have no reason to deny your request and besides, I like your company.”
- “Then it is settled, let's go!”
- I got Yukari as a party member and I am going back to my adventure to reach the top of this monastery.
- The inside of the monastery felt like a dungeon, there was close to no light, expect for some dark green torches, there were wines and mold on the stone walls; wooden doors that led to armouries, libraries, laboratories, altars, kitchens, farms, living rooms, sparring areas. Overall, a self-sufficient world in a odd mix of fantasy, sci-fi, Warhammer 40000, Celtic and Greek mythology and Arthurian legends. Yet, all Yukari and me see are worn out armors and weapons on the ground, but nothing organic are left so they must have decayed a really long time ago.
- “This civilisation had a technology level superior to Celestials and Lunarians.”
- Yukari said as we walked into the covenant.
- “Tell me more, last time we got on the moon I was pretty impressed by their technology.”
- “Well, their materials seem to be pure Planck strings... They also seem to use heavy spiritism to shape the matter and bypass every law of physics like they never existed.”
- “So they have the tech to violate the Pauli's exclusion principle and other quantum sorceries? Now, that's pretty damn impressive... Imagine facing enemies, who use literal singularities as weapons and armors of doom. That is pretty awesome!”
- “You seem really excited by it...”
- “Of course I am! Imagine having a sword that can split the waves and the sea of worlds! Wait, that would mean danmaku as a mean of fighting would be totally overpowered... Anyway, sword fighting is better.”
- “You really are childish sometimes.”
- "I am not being childish, I rather demonstrate my skills with a sword and look my opponents dead in the eye rather than shooting a flood of bullets."
- "You are missing the point of danmaku."
- "Of course I am missing the point of danmaku because they're waves."
- Yukari giggled at my snarky comment. Then I stopped talking and I was thinking about this otherworldly tech, also I observed than Yukari didn't noticed than the tech was blending perfectly with nature, like it's a part of it. Again, we have two different perceptions of what we see the things around us.
- We keep going higher into the covenant and noticed than there is only one way possible, going up. For some reason, Yukari's powers didn't seem to work, but unfortunately for her, this also increased my thirst for adventure! I observed than the wooden doors in the upper levels are magic gates leading to pocket universes inside of them which I find pretty neat. But Yukari began to feel tired of walking so we marked a pause near a campfire place. Yukari sat next to me and began talking while I was making a small campfire.
- “This place is so strange, even if I could use my powers to warp us back we couldn't get out expect going up and up.”
- “So, let me get this straight; You don't have any powers like flight and eldritch magic anymore and we're stuck to only one direction... Isn't like the inside of a black hole or something? Well, despite that, I dragged you into my mess so let me protect you form harm at least.”
- “H-Huh?! A human protecting a youkai form harm?”
- Yukari couldn't hide her shock form my vow to protect her form harm and to be fair, I was surprised too than I could get bold like that. But some instincts took over myself and I always follow them. Then I placed my right hand on her right shoulder and slowly dragged her toward me, there was no resistance on her part and she leaned and embraced me. I was indeed taller, wider and stronger than her and well... I could feel her silk and long blonde hair through my arm and her... Large soft chest against mine. Don't blame me for getting some “thoughts”, I'm only human after all! Anyway, I broke the silence after this.
- “It is not a matter of different species or abilities; We're stuck in a dungeon inside a monastery build by a ancient civilisation of doom with technology and spiritism that cross the line of the divine. So our species literally don't matter on this point; You're a young woman who aren't able or should fight any foe. As for my part; I am a young man who should do the fighting and the leading and shall keep you safe. As is it part of man's worth and honour! Also, you know pretty well than I dislike being told what to do and than I am always following my principles, instincts and heart.”
- “You know... We didn't encounter any foe on our quest, but maybe your instincts are sensing something. Maybe that's why you're slowly changing, you just don't realise it yourself.”
- “Myself? Changing? What are you on about?”
- “Well, you walk like a fearless apex predator, you're way more bolder and sometimes you are surrounding by a black mist and your hands exalte white flames.”
- “I never noticed that in my behaviour or myself, maybe I am not in control of this... Another side of me.”
- I let go of Yukari and I pick up a fallen obsidian look-like double-edged with a odd Damascus pattern sword near me.
- “Stay near me.”
- Yukari grabbed my arm free of the sword with both of her and again; I could feel her consequent chest pressing against my arm, but it is no time to be distracted by lust. We continued our quest to reach the top of the monastery, I could feel my senses sharpening even more as I was ready for anything. The corridors slowly darkened and a chill wind blow, something was tracking and hunting us.
- “Your black mist... It is showing again.”
- I did not reply since I was too focused on tracking the entity, I heard whispers and the atmosphere became really oppressive and cold. Yukari gripped on my arm tighter but I couldn't hear anything expect the word; “Demon!” I remember what I swore to her then I'll protect her and I will honor what I have swore to her! I moved my arm next to her rear and draw her closer to me, ready to fight the demon. All lights were gone, the doors furiously slamming and the cold wind turned into a scorching storm, the whispers became a cacophony of million screaming tortured souls. But now the stench of blood and gore get added then the demon revealed itself. A pack of flesh abomination with a thousand green eyes, distorted wide mouth with blood flowing on its thousand fangs and dozen of tentacles with claws who serves as thorns. It's was very difficult to look at this distended smiling horror, then I instinctly feel what this damned creature would do to her, then I had horrible visions that dazed me. Yukari gave me a light slap on my cheek to help me recover form my stun while the demon was delighting itself. I felt a new emotion than I never experienced; Deep rage. Then while flames suddenly erupted form my hand holding the sword! The demon went to blissful expression to absolute terror one in a split second, Yukari clung to me harder, but I can't control it. In a split-second, the flames in my hand became a pure raging white inferno then I swung the flaming sword and release the power! The demon and the million souls screamed in agony as the flames consumed them, then a titanic, blinding white explosion that shattered reality like a glass followed! But the monastery changed, the walls were glowing of a light green as something inside it was activated then I said to Yukari;
- “You're alright?”
- “Y-Yeah...”
- Yukari looked shocked and horrified, but I could tell than she would not like to speak of it. Meanwhile I noticed than the sword I had in my hand were completely gone, like poof, gone. But again, we gotta move up. I broke up the silence by asking her;
- “Tell me, what's the difference between a Oni and a Demon? Oriental and western ones look totally different.”
- “Well, form a linguistic point, there is one way to separate them; In your language you would call oriental ones; “Demons” or “Ogres” and western ones; “D-e-a-mons”, their spelling are very close but those species are like the day and night. Ogres are mostly hell residents and have their job, while they also like to drink and brawl. They're overall trouble-makers or evil villains depending on their mood and are a pain in the back but can materialise in physical world. Now the Demon is the real ugly one, they're supernatural parasitic abominations who love to feed, enslave and empower on the thoughts, emotions and beliefs of sentients creatures.”
- “Empower on belief? Are Demons also Gods?”
- “Yes and no and sometimes yes... You wouldn't call a lizard and a fish the same while they're both made of water; Gods are more of a expression of a aspect of nature while also being empowered by beliefs while Demons are just parasites. They're a plague to spirits, youkais, humans and even gods because they love to eat, possess, enslave or sacrifice for their masters and getting rid of them is difficult. Demons can also ascend to Godhood after getting enough power or eating other demons.”
- “Well, that's nice and all... But if they're as overpowered as you describe them, why they haven't enslaved everyone?”
- “I was about to tell you why, because yes, demons de have weaknesses. Demons are made of pure spiritual energy that you can find in belief or emotions; That's mean they can't materialise themselves into physical world, unless they find a host, especially people who have dreams or gather enough energy by someone worshipping. Also the more powerful the demon are, the harder it is for them to materialise. They're also as unkillable as those Hourai ones but... Those white flames of yours seem to be able to kill them permanently, remember the sword you picked?”
- “Yeah, it got obliterated alongside the demon when I used, I dunno how those flames.”
- “Well, you also obliterated the god inside that sword alongside the very concept and soul of the demon.”
- I looked around for something that would change the subject because I wasn't very comfortable with me being able to use some white flames of doom. Then the black mist surrounding me began to move like being push by the wind and form a path with a small light to the end.
- “We are reaching the end of our quest...”
- “Indeed...”
- Me and Yukari hold hands then walked toward the dim light who got brighter and brighter and the light fully engulfed us and revealed a heavenly place! Yukari said Khaos in Greek but what I seen was full of gigantic trees with vines, golden apples and golden rays of light piercing through the dense canopy, but there were paintings on the trees and most important of all, gigantic statues of some kind of Warhammer 40000 space marine mixed with knights armed with huge shields and swords with the tip of their blades touching the others. Beneath the swords of the statues, a stone pedestal with chairs made of stone surrounding it. And in the center of the pedestal, a sword illuminated by rays of golden light with the blade embedded in the stone then in my mind, everything was clear! Round table, monastic, hyper advanced technology but still with medieval aesthetic, supernatural forces, forests and knights!
- “Camelot...”
- After saying the name of this place, I let go the hand of Yukari and go on toward the sword bedded in the stone, I climbed the pedestal and ghosts of knights appeared on the chairs made of stone. Yukari teleported behind me and tell me;
- “Pick that sword... They're waiting for you to take it.”
- I could feel the weight of the stare of the knights and of something behind those golden rays, judging me. I moved my hand on the the grip and suddenly feel a burning surge of power! Black mist and white flames exalted form my body while the swords of the statues moved to point at the golden sky! But the burning and the pain became really intense and the black mist became a dark storm while the white flames became intense light beams then I hear Yukari telling me than I can do it and than a real man never come back on his vow! Though exuberating pain, I pulled the sword brimming with boundless power out of the pedestal then I lifted her toward the skies and everything stopped and everything were going “normal” again... The ghosts rose form their chair and dropped one knee to the soil with their sword lightly bedded into the soil alongside the statues as to give respect or taking a pledge.
- “This black knight aesthetic fit you perfectly...”
- Yukari was looking at me with awe.
- “Black knight? What are you talking about?”
- Yukari used some magic to make me see what she's seeing. I was clad in a large and heavy black power armor like the ones in Warhammer 40000 and exalting white flames and black mist, my helmet had huge red feather wings and the visor have two frown glowing white eyes. My left arm had a massive black pavise ornamented with various jewels and a huge flaming sword pattern and crackling with pure energy! The right hand had a grip on the sword with was a huge medieval great sword that was clearly meant to be held with two hands but both the shield and the great sword weighted almost nothing. The pommel was a huge shining jewel radiating with every color imaginable on it and pure gold on the cross-guard that had a winged pattern on it, while the grip had a rouge bordeaux leather on it. The blade was a beautiful Damascus obsidian pattern, exalting pure white flames, lighting and ice. I dunno what this sword are made off but the edge let me guess than it is sharp to the point of absurdity. Yukari said than there was also a huge aura of power and domination around me but I just think than I looked awesome on that armor with those weapons! Suddenly I felt immensely tired and dropped on one knee while the armor and shield magically vanished, only the sword remained but its was not exalting energy anymore.
- “Are you alright?!”
- “Yeah, I just ran out of juice...”
- In my left hand there was now a scabbard with the locket and the chape being of pure gold while the fuller is of a rouge bordeaux leather and a long black scarf enrolled around the scabbard. I sheathe the sword inside it and place the scabbard on my back, then I get up.
- “Well, what now mister knight?”
- “I dunno, maybe you can use your eldrich powers to get us out of here?”
- “I could but... I don't wanna~”
- “You know, just because you look like a 18 year old girl, doesn't mean than you have to act like o- Never mind.”
- I focused my spirit on a point then the black mist appeared again and opened a portal. Then I grabbed Yukari like a princess.
- “Y-You don't have to be so pushy, You know!”
- “What? That's the dream of every teenager girl, perhaps it is time to get out of here.”
- Yukari warped her hands around my neck as to comply, she was light as a feather I and grabbed her long blonde hair to not let it rake against the ground and really tried my best to not look into her clevage, also her body was really warm. We advanced and took the portal that got us outside the covenant.
- “So, the little princess is happy?”
- “I am~”
- “I suppose it is time for me.”
- “Don't you worry, after all I can visit you whenever I want. And you know how teenage girls can be clingy~”
- “Stop messing with me, because I don't know on how teenage girls can be so cingly.”
- I began to regret calling Yukari a teenage girl, because I could tell on how much she's enjoying it. But I also had a feeling than she mean more with the word “clingy”. Gotta remember to be cautious when dealing with youkais or mature women. Then Yukari placed one hand on the back of my head and gave me a kiss on the cheek.
- “See you later, black knight~”
- Then everything went black and I suddenly woke up in my tent. Well at least my headache was gone and I felt really awesome! I packed all my stuff and go to my grandma's house to tell her what happened. She was amused but she told me to be very careful about demons. Then I wrote all of this epic stuff on my dairy. By the time I've seen her quite often but that's a another story for a another time.
