Xion Background v2 [Unfinished]

Xion (Pronounced She-on) Enderknight is the current Emperor of Rehnauros, a distant Empire comprised of 7 different kingdoms that has been isolated from most other human civilizations since its conception. Being isolated, Rehnauros lacked the same technology as the outside world at the time of its conception as well as any proof of monster existence though, possessed magic in a much greater degree, due in part of the practice being continued throughout the empire's existence.

Born to a set of ordinary parents 500 or so years ago, he grew up as a happy and bubbly kid, often making trouble as a means of "fun" though these were nothing more than light jokes such as lightly provoking guardsmen into chasing him or tricking his friends into "trespassing" onto the neighbors property (They'd often entertain the young'uns by fake yelling at them to get going). Xion's happy childhood soon came to an end around his 14th birthday. Due to an encounter with rogue mages from the local magic academy, the balance within his SOUL was disturbed, leading to it cracking. Eventually, after being revealed during an examination, it was discovered he would die within the next few months from his SOUL exploding from within him. Using whatever funds they had at the time, his parents hired a mage of unknown status claiming to have knowledge that far surpassed anything the empire itself had known. With his parents' SOULS, Xion's own SOUL was repaired by the mage, though came to gain a powerful aspect dubbed as "The Power of Three Within One". Immediately after this, Xion moved in with his cousins and attended school with them.

Sometime following the incident, Xion's personality and overall outlook changed drastically, resulting in a nigh-purely logical outlook. This also signaled the start of something else: Chronic Magical Outbursts. These outbursts were the result of his SOUL producing too much energy to properly contain, leading to excess being expelled by force. Each outburst caused a crack in his SOUL that normally healed sometime before the next. As he grew older, his social life became null but he was content with the knowledge he gained. The Outbursts themselves also increased both in magnitude and frequency, as he aged.

At Age 18, Xion was visited by the Mage again who gave him a stone that passively absorbed, contained and then exerted the immense excess of magical energy, leading to the end of the magical outbursts, so long as the stone was on his person. Now free from his outbursts and hungry for knowledge, Xion began to take repeat trips from Rehnauros to the outside world every 5 years. Through these repeat trips, Xion claimed to understand the nature of people and obtained a bleak outlook on humanity. During each trip, he studied and recorded each new piece of technology he found for use back in Rehnauros.

At Age 70, Xion obtained one last gift from the Mage, who revealed himself as one of the founders of Rehnauros thousands of years prior. Using the arts of Alchemy and Magic, the founder granted Xion a form of imperfect Immortality, restoring Xion's youth back to his early 20s and ceasing his aging processes entirely. The founder told Xion that he believed he was meant for great things and his survival of the process over 56 years earlier was proof of that. While the mage died after the process, Xion never forgot his words and took them to heart.

Throughout the years afterwards, Xion would start a cycle of becoming the Emperor's advisor then faking his death in order to use the time to study more technology of the outside world. He ultimately shared his knowledge of technology with each Emperor he served, or even if he served an Emperor more than once, with him eventually spearheading the creation of the first iteration of Magitek, or Magic-Integrated Technology, causing Rehnauros to quickly grow vastly technologically and scientifically superior to the rest of the world. Eventually, roughly 200 years prior to the release of the Monsters, he would be given the position of Emperor and ruled without incident, though continued his trips nonetheless.
