  1. [1:07 AM] Kiri: if I'm not misinformed, by the sound of things lately Asz is going a bit harder on the whole 'Celia basically losing her mind over this' thing
  2. [1:08 AM] Kiri: like, the wrinkle in the Calamitas fight of 'well now we have to deal with a feral dragon trying to eat the meaningless eyeball vessels'
  3. [1:08 AM] Kiri: I feel you but I think he's kinda getting it too at this point
  4. [1:09 AM] Kiri: If he isn't, well, I'll talk to him
  5. [1:09 AM] Kiri: If nothing else... Thematically I think Celia plays an interesting role
  6. [1:09 AM] Kiri: if we're still largely going with the theme of like
  7. [1:09 AM] Kiri: 'Gods aren't what they are because of their strength' I guess, in as few words as possible
  8. [1:10 AM] Kiri: since she was supposed to be the one to step up and effectively inherit Gaia's position, and what she was
  9. [1:10 AM] Kiri: and it just sorta... doesn't work out, because why would it
  10. [1:11 AM] Kiri: stretching one singular entity out that thinly is never gonna actually infallibly keep the world in working order forever
  11. [1:12 AM] Kiri: She's strong, of course she is-- she's taken on powers mortals aren't meant to understand
  12. [1:12 AM] Kiri: she also has enough PTSD that she can hardly speak straight for prolonged periods of time
  13. [1:13 AM] Kiri: At least, that's how I always envisioned it in my head.
  14. [1:13 AM] Leafia_Barrett: that's not inaccurate
  15. [1:13 AM] Leafia_Barrett: it's also twisted her sense of morality
  16. [1:13 AM] Kiri: She can probably stay up long enough to half-inform everyone in the TL crew vaguely of what she's meant to be and what happened all those years ago
  17. [1:14 AM] Kiri: then abruptly comes to a stop when she starts thinking about how everyone fucking died in front of her and probably just... asks to be excused so she can go back to 'sleep'
  18. [1:14 AM] Kiri: She had too much singular burden put on her.
  19. [1:15 AM] Leafia_Barrett: like the whole "creating living beings for the sole purpose of being tools" deal, she sees zero problem with that
  20. [1:15 AM] Kiri: Everyone's morality would probably show cracks under pressure like that.
  21. [1:15 AM] Leafia_Barrett: yeah
  22. [1:16 AM] Kiri: Like, there's a message to be had there, I feel like
  23. [1:16 AM] Kiri: if it feels like Celia doesn't deserve her position... of course she doesn't.
  24. [1:16 AM] Kiri: She's not special because of her character, she just... happened to be the one.
  25. [1:16 AM] Leafia_Barrett: humans' brains don't work on that scale
  26. [1:16 AM] Leafia_Barrett: it's simply not a thing
  27. [1:16 AM] Kiri: and in the same position, let's play a game-- what would everyone else across WJ and TL do after all this garbage, do you think?
  28. [1:17 AM] Leafia_Barrett: in her position, or...
  29. [1:17 AM] Kiri: I can tell you right now-- Solacia would've tried way too hard to do everything with her own bare hands.
  30. [1:18 AM] Kiri: She wouldn't even be able to do the whole 'stand back and watch' thing, any time there'd be a war she'd fucking drop in and be like 'Fucking knock it off', any time a lord of hell starts thinking about all the ways they know to kill a man she punches him in the jaw
  31. [1:18 AM] Kiri: If exertion wouldn't kill her, eventually she'd start to lose track of what is actually so outlandish it needs to be stopped, and what's simply a fact of life
  32. [1:19 AM] Kiri: She'd try to do so much that stress would break her to a point where she couldn't do anything.
  33. [1:19 AM] Leafia_Barrett: Lilac would be a neurotic mess by the end of the first week from the sheer number of things to keep track of
  34. [1:20 AM] Kiri: I can't even recall off the top of my head what you're referring to when you say 'living beings for being tools' thing, but like
  35. [1:20 AM] Leafia_Barrett: her children
  36. [1:20 AM] Kiri: strictly speaking that's a logical thing to do with that sort of workload
  37. [1:20 AM] Kiri: Mmm
  38. [1:20 AM] Leafia_Barrett: her literal children
  39. [1:20 AM] Kiri: It's entirely a matter of 'apparently, somebody has to do it, or it isn't gonna get done'
  40. [1:21 AM] Kiri: And hopefully the message is driven home by the end that the secret is everyone needs to at least try.
  41. [1:22 AM] Kiri: You know what I mean?
  42. [1:22 AM] Leafia_Barrett: yeah
  43. [1:22 AM] Kiri: Addressed properly I think Celia could honestly make for a really interesting narrative tool, even if not a particularly wonderful character
  44. [1:24 AM] Kiri: Admittedly... we do still need to make sure we and Asz are on the same page
  45. [1:24 AM] Kiri: but I think that'd be a powerful way to handle it
