- Tip of the Day -
- Centaur Biology: A race of what scientists bafflingly called 'xenoarthropods', with four legs, a thick saucer-shaped abdomen, and humanlike torso/thorax, these creatures are called 'Centaurs'. (Or, more correctly, Mzlp'hack*tha. [NOTE: Asteriks signify a buzz in the Mzlp'hack*tha language, while apostrophes signify clicks.]) They have four arms - two primary arms with pincers, suitable for heavy work and melee combat - and two thinner secondary arms, abnormally thin and long, at the place where their abdomen and thorax meet, used for fine manipulation. Centaur immune systems are extraordinarily strong, and they don't age normally. The most peculiar part of centaur biology is that their body produces and stores incredible amounts of stem cells, so in the few cases their constitution and durability is broken, or they take major injury, the stem cells flood forth, remaking the centaur essentially from the ground up, their thick carapace moulting off. This is the only 'true' age for centaur, because the more they moult, the more aged they become. A young centaur can be one to five moults old, while a centaur nearly twenty moults old is positively ancient. However, because they only moult when unduly injured, they have the longest lifespans of any creatures in the UPA.
- Centaur reproduction is a simple binary gender affair, where the females - usually smaller, with lighter-tinted carapace - climb underneath the abdomen of the male, as their genitals are placed near the rear of their abdomen. [If you wish to know more, see Centaur Sexual Positions, by Javeel'*ch]

- Transgenics: Nearly 70 years ago, a Dr. Stevenson and her Nagala associate, 'Andy', discovered a breakthrough in transgenetic retrovirii involving a rare RNA virus found on a remote moon, known as Denton's Key, which can entirely change a living being's genetics without adversely affecting them. After researching how Denton's Key functioned on humans, Nagala, and centaurs, transgenetic research and creation of transgenes have gone commercial, allowing those with enough money to purchase a Transgene Package, changing anything from their natural skin color to the amount of limbs they bear, or even to have a custom Transgene developed for the customer. Additionally, there are two general 'types' of transgenetic packages- Fast Transgenes, which involves significant gene therapy, immunosuppressants, and a week within a biochamber filled with protiens and supplements, after which they exit the chamber with brand new genetics. The second type of transgenetic package is a Slow Transgene, which takes a process of up to five to fifteen years while the body slowly replaces itself with new genes. Surprisingly, Nagala society has embraced transgenetic sciences; The latest census of Nagala worlds has shown that nearly 69% of the entire species has been transgened significantly. Similar studies on Human and Centaur populations have shown that they only have 29% and 4% portions of transgened citizens, respectively. Due to the peculiarities of Centaur immune systems, transgenes only last for a short time, during a single moult or so.

- Nagala History: Humanity, around the year 2092, had sent out their first few colony ships, using slower-than-light chemical drives and minor ion drives. Nearly a hundred years after leaving the Sol system, on 2165, they came across their first alien ship - a nagala ship, utilizing FTL travel, blindly, without the computer power to control it properly. After a very terse and stressful First Contact, humanity traded their own computer technology for faster than light 'pocket generators', and only a few years later, the Nagala arrived at earth, requesting to start up an alliance. The UPA was born, that day, and it was soon revealed that Nagala held humanity in high esteem. As a technocracy, they viewed those with the greatest technology and knowledge as superior. Nagala culture remains to view humanity in high esteem, and they've taken to using transgenes to make them appear more human, usually from the waist up. They see lips and tongues as the most curious part of humanity, and so transgenes to give them vestigial mouths are quite common.

- DAY 4 (WEDNESDAY) - THREAD 7 MID
- Tip of the Day -
- Nuclear Energy: Energy Crisis of 2094 showed Humanity (In the pre-UPA days) that biofuel and fossil fuel energy would never be enough. At that time, a team of Martian scientists perfected the first Thorium Cores, allowing small, easily-disposed cores of nuclear fuel to be contained and loaded into power plants without worries. Since then, the First Contact with the 'Centaurs' allowed humanity, and the UPA as a whole, to advance even further into nuclear energy due to the alien's expertise in nuclear technology, making Thorium Cores, complete with fuel rods and fission plants small enough to be used commercially. However, commercial uses of nuclear fuel is sometimes considered a radiation hazard, so several companies and businesses have taken it upon themselves to set up the Solar Waste Program, where they get rid of used or spent cores the easiest way possible- By producing Cores with RFID tags within them, collecting them, and dumping them into the nearest sun. Fusion plants are rarer and much larger, but more powerful, used only for stationary buildings or the largest spacecraft, due to the need for plenty of space for the complex plasma containment technology required.
- Additionally, Nuclear Energy is not the only source of energy- rechargable chemical cells still exist, for short-term storage and charge of energy, and solar power is almost ubiquitous for stationary satellites and buildings.

- Interstellar Life Hypotheses: Many scientists and xenobiologists have, for quite a long time, asked themselves a simple question. Why, given the great numbers of alien life in the universe, do most of them end up as carbon-based lifeforms, with DNA, RNA, ATP and similar? [See Nagala and Centaur] One hypothesis is that all life was started in the same place, perhaps an ancient world hundreds of billions of years ago, was torn apart and sent bacteria to other worlds across the galaxy, seeding life to every world. This has the problem that no such 'source of life' has been found, and there is always the fact that space is inherently damaging toward life. There's also another hypothesis that claims that convergent evolution is the cause for such similar types of life throughout the Milky Way Galaxy- That the same method of life evolved on earth is so universally useful that it's the most potent survival trait for life. The latter has been accepted by the scientific community at large, and some creatures are so similar that some have worried about interspecies disease and viruses.
- Due a strange coincidence of fate, most forms of life, even ones born on other worlds, usually resemble terran creatures, as Earth had the greatest complexity of life.

- Faster Than Light Travel: Soon after the First Contact with the Nagala, it was learned that they had recently developed a new technology - one that was mistakenly translated as the Bubble Drive. It's a simple two-part drive that forges (from hydrogen and carbon) and fires off similarly mistranslated 'Dark Particles' that directly manipulates space based on how it's charged. Properly set up, a bubble drive fires off positively charged particles forward that compress space, and negatively charged particles backward that expand it, creating a bubble of shaped space around the ship that sends it forward, significantly faster than light. The larger the bubble drive, the more particles that are fired off, the thicker or wider the compressed or expanded space is, and the faster the drive goes.

- Nagala Biology: A race of serpentine creatures, nagala have two arms with four fingers and two thumbs on each hand. From the waist-down, they have a long, powerful tail, with heavy scales on the bottom, where they consume food and fungi by scraping it with their scales. From the waist up, they appear almost human, though their face has neither nose or mouth- simply two primary eyes placed roughly near a human's eyes, and two smaller side-set eyes on their temples. Scientists are baffled when it comes to their mode of communication - their skin is rubbery, and constantly mildly damp, but the most amazing part is that they generate an electrostatic charge, giving one another hugs in order to communicate. They also have a much less amazing ability to change the color and tone of their skin, akin to a chameleon's. Their limbs are spindly and thin, and nagala appeared at first not to have bones of any sort, until it was revealed that instead, the core of their body is made up of clusters of bone 'shards', held in place by thick, tough tendon, giving nagala incredible elasticity. Nagala reproduction is unusually savage, considering their peaceful nature - after asexually bearing a clutch of eggs, the eggs hatch into annelid form, where each annelid consumes the other via their powerful tail-stomachs. Only the strongest, who consumes all of their siblings and eggs, will eventually enter a chrysalis and sprout a toddler nagala.

- Ion Propulsion: After First Contact with the centaurs, it was quickly shown that though they looked and acted primitive, they had technologies that surpassed our own. [See Nuclear Energy] While Ion Propulsion (utilizing electrically charged particles to gain thrust) using xenon gas was used at the time, it was seen as too slow to be useful in all but long-term satellites or colony ships. The Centaurs were lucky and had a peculiar algae on their world, that during their process of photosynthesis, the fungi developed a gas called ph*ro', or translated into something a human could speak, phaeron. Phaeron is particularly unusual in that while it's otherwise inert to most things, if you ionize the gas, it accelerates significantly faster than any other similar gas. Due to this peculiarity, centaur technology naturally developed toward ion technology rather than chemical rockets and weapons, like humanity and nagala once had (beside the fact that the earliest gunpowder weapons would have done little but bounce off of carapace), so when the UPA arrived and learned of the technology, a few enterprising human inventors were willing to trade anything to get enough of the algae to produce it themselves.

- United Planets Alliance: The Alliance was first suggested in the year 2234, after the people of Nagala came to humanity and requested to join in an alliance. Over the next ten years, more and more planetary governments agreed to the idea, and the UPA was created. Given the differences between the races, it was agreed that each alien race who's part of the Alliance have a council made up of their own peers, and in rare cases that concern all species of the alliance, they create a group council, or a 'meet'. The UPA elected to give a 'hands off' method of governing, giving planets their own choice of laws and legislation, while the UPA deals only directly with interplanetary affairs. Among several things, the UPA has banned orbital weaponry and relativistic weapons. Fifty years after the creation of the UPA, the centaurs were found [See Centaur History] and they soon joined the UPA, integrating their 'tribe' into the Alliance's 'tribe', and gaining their own council of peers.

- I have also considered several other modifications of a possible shuttle (attached above), and I've heard of Ishelda. Here's the data I can grab.
- The UED Ishelda was created on 2116, from the moon of Titan. Ishelda was sent toward the habitable planet U-23246, now known as Heaven's Jewel (one of the furthest pre-FTL ships ever sent, actually), but during the path there was a previously undiscovered black hole, sending it off course. During attempted course correction, something happened, and the quantum entanglement was lost.

- DAY 10: (TUESDAY) - THREAD 22 MID
- Tip of the Day-
- Uplifts: The latest advances in brain implants, transgenes, intelligence treatments, and equivalent has shown that it's quite possible to give an animal human-level sapience, based on the amount of brain matter the creature has. There are two levels of Uplift - Late Uplifts, which are adult animals given a strict regimen of intelligence treatments, and incredible amounts of brain implants, implanting the knowledge required to understand human society. Early uplifts are entirely different in nature - they're given a simple transgene while still a a baby or even still in the biopod or artificial womb, giving the uplift a similar brain to that of a human child. As time passes, the early uplift grows smarter at the same rate as a human being. Currently, laws for the UPA declare that Uplifts are treated as human beings in most legal matters, though the amount of required paperwork and cost of licenses are greater than that for human children.

- Centaur History: For the first thousand years of centaur society, everything was war. Tribes fought tribes, civilizations growing and falling, constant battle and combat getting close to extincting the entire race, just for them to repopulate the world and fight once again.
- At least... until two tribe chieftans had an idea that, surprisingly, didn't occur to any chieftans before. Why not combine their tribes? Create a single, larger tribe. They would be stronger and more powerful than the rest. the two did so, creating the two first subtribes on the centaur homeworld.
- The idea spread like a storm. Having fought for generations, the entire population of centaurs were tired of it. Yes, they needed to fight to moult, but that could be done in an organized way. That was when the entire world of centaurs created a single tribe, and created the first wargame.
- Some years later, the UPA arrived in orbit to examine the life there, and after using their ion technology to get into space, the Centaurs went up to meet them on equal terms. Soon after, the Centaurs had joined the UPA, or in their own eyes, merged tribes. Now all of UPA was technically part of the same tribe, the same clan.

- Materials Science: In the year 2054, the first fullerite polycarbide material was created by humanity - an ultradense, rigid alloy primarily made of carbon. It was incredibly difficult to build... until the Nagala known as 'Jules' invented Forging, in the year 2078, pre-UPA. Forging involves bombarding molecules with a high-frequency precision sound and the correct amount of electronic stimulation, temporarily removing the chemical bonds and allowing the machine to infuse whichever atoms the scientists wish into the machine. Most of the time, the resulting matter is unstable, like Dark Particles. Due to Forging, Bubble drives function, and fullerite polycarbide can be mass produced for use in ship hulls. Linguistic drift has since renamed Fullerite Polycarbide into 'Polycarbon', though the term is technically incorrect, and it's used in many, many applications; spaceflight, structural, weapons... The possibilities for a nigh-indestructible pseudo metal are endless.

- Medical Science: Medicine has advanced quite a lot over the past five hundred years. Synthetic blood, drug-delivering cellular packets, hyposprays, transgenetics, etcetra. Few groundbreaking discoveries have been made, but time passes on. Some hereditary diseases have been transgened out of existence, while humans age more slowly and heal more quickly. Drugs can be Forged, and one's genome can be catalogued and checked over for any hidden problems that have yet to develop. Humans can live up to nearly a hundred and sixty years old with proper care, and a broken bone can be healed in less than a week. Cybernetic implants are rare, but they exist, if for whatever reason additional limbs cannot simply be cloned and attached. You also have to keep up a very specific drug regimen for as long as you have it, to keep the body from rejecting the implant, except in spectacular cases or in cases with weak immune systems. Augmentations are just as rare, not due to a technological or medical issue, but due to a social one. No matter how realistic a cybernetic limb is, it's always quite 'off'. Even in the year 2573, the uncanny valley cannot be surpassed. Biopods exist as large chambers full of various drugs and supplements, meant to sustain someone while they undergo surgery or transgening, and smaller biopods are used for limb cloning, or for the birth of children for male same-sex couples.

- Artificial Intelligence: Since the dawn of computers, civilized races have told stories about mechanized minds, digital minds, able to hold a conversation with them, and think as quickly as a human. In the year 2053, those stories had come true. Solus was created, a perfectly self-aware artificial intelligence, with intelligence equal to the average sapient being. From there, several things were discovered- First, that AI usually don't think of our reality, the physical world, as 'real'. It's only something they can sense through periphreals. Second, the Klimeck Limit was discovered. A limit on intelligence, almost arbitrarily chosen, for sapient beings. An AI could be fitted with additional processors, but that simply means that they think more quickly, not think smarter. Essentially, the limit is that no sapient species, artificial, natural, or uplifted, cannot be more intelligent than a certain point. A few humans, centaur, and nagala (As well as the AI Asmodeus) have come close to the limit, becoming eccentric geniuses, but none have surpassed it. AI are programmed, taking painstaking effort for tens of years (Or, recently, the AI known as Rust was created in merely three years) in order to develop true self-awareness, and they're unable to change their own source code. The AI philosopher, Daedalus, claimed that it's impossible to change something they 'can't see or feel', but that barely gives us a window into the mind of an AI.

- Spaceflight is rather common for most races in UPA space. Most civilians travel by way of personnel freighters, or 'space buses', which travel slowly from world to world. Private ships are rare, but there are nearly 15% private ship owners across UPA space. All ships, military, private, or other require a transponder. As for military, most of the information is confidential. The UPA officially keeps a fluid force of interceptors, carriers, and corsairs, to protect the Alliance from demiurg incursion. Weapon platforms are common, with automated missile or laser defenses.

- Day 18: (WEDNESDAY) - THREAD 42 MID
- Tip of the Day - Terraformation / Heaven's Jewel
- Terraforming started soon after colonization efforts first started, as the first UNE ships were constructed. Terraforming is done by injecting great amounts of water, oxygen, hydrogen, or similar into the atmosphere of a planet, triggering changes in the atmosphere and environment.. It's nowhere near easy, even though technology has advanced, and some mistakes have been made- most notably Heaven's Jewel, a planet with only two seasons. The atmosphere is unusually thin, and there's a particular balance between seasons- during the dry season, water boils off into the atmosphere and freezes- but due to the atmospheric currents, it coalesces the water as well as builds up the speed of the upper current to near-orbital, causing the boiled water to freeze as crystals. After a coasting along a slowly decaying orbit for nearly half a year, the ice crystals fall back into the atmosphere, drag pulling them down and friction heating them up again, increasing the hydrology of the planet significantly.

- Sorry we haven't finished examining that strange sphere. It seems incredibly inert, but other than that, nothing. We still need to run tests.
- Day 19: (THURSDAY) - THREAD 46 START
- Tip of the Day - UPA Federal Code:
- Though it's long been decided that each planet is self-governing, the UPA as a whole has very few laws and rules that citizens- or even non-citizens in UPA space must adhere to. One being one the prohibition of ship-mounted weaponry without the appropriate licenses, and another being the protection of sapient beings, and their property. Though the protection of a being's property is rather lax, and there are several governors currently working toward removing it, as some species may not have a concept of 'property'.
- Actual laws are few in number, as the UPA are trying to keep their hands off of anything not pertaining to the alliance as a whole. They have a standing military force (The only space-borne military in UPA space) and several research stations, all working on their own technologies to further advance the Alliance. One such is the Psionics Institute, investigating abnormal phenomena connected to sapient minds. Another such is the [REDACTED] and the [REDACTED].
- Space-born corporations have some more stringent codes and bylaws they have to follow compared to individuals- over-mining, endangering their workers, child labor laws, radiation hazards, et cetra, but for the most part, they tend to be much more free than their planet-bound peers. Personatech is one such corporation, as is ArmaTek, and technically, the Solar Waste Association, though the latter has some abnormal allowances made, due to their nature as a rather important service provider.

- Day 20: (FRIDAY) - THREAD 48 MID
- Tip of the Day - Decabulators:
- The decabulator uses phase variance, multiple tined feeders to create a stack energy tube in quantum knots that, through a feedback loop in N-geometry, creates an effective potential vorticity, instead of an actual tortion in the square circuit. Decabulators can be assembeled in series or parallel, in addition to sideways, stacked, compact, twisted, looped or redways, each with their own effects and functions. Often they can be installed correctly, or come loose, which means a modern engineer in our age spends a lot of time installing, uninstalling and tweaking decabulator banks. This unique malleability of function means that Decabulators have many uses, ranging from starship function to coffee making, and technology has boomed since their invention in 2243. Through a curious quirk of mathematics, the effect of a decabulator is measured in length! This gives a convenient way of describing them (two-inch, four-inch or half-inch, etc.) but it should be noted that due to a recprocal argument this is nonlinear and counter-intuitive. A two-inch decabulator can actually be simulated by a left-handed arrangement of several four-inch decabulators, with more decabulators *decreasing* the effective distance. Often a budding student will ask of the significance of the measure of decabulators: What is it the distance between? The reader is advised that in 80 years of research no answer has been found, and that many great minds have gone mad trying to find the answer.
- If you are still having trouble understanding the concept of Decabulators, please see [Invalid Link] for the complete, perfect, one-to-one diagram of decabulator function and simple arrangements.

- We've confirmed that the sphere actually does very little, other than its incredible density. Also, we've made leaps and bounds of progress on the technopathic... Worm, I suppose you could call it. Or trojan. We're still nowhere near deciphering it entirely, though.
- Day 22: (SATURDAY) - THREAD 50 MID
- Tip of the Day - Piracy/Crime:
- Crime in the UPA has been rather erratic- certain events have changed crime levels quite a bit. Soon after spaceflight, there was no non-terrestrial crime, though it quickly spiked up as piracy found a resurgence, after meeting the nagala. Piracy slowed once again when the centaurs were met, and spiked in the years after, as more and more pirates started getting organized... finally stopping once the demiurg were met, and when the paramilitary company Blackreach was created. We don't know when crime will spike again, but prepare- for it will.

- Day 23: (SUNDAY) - THREAD 54.5 CONTINUED START
- Tip of the Day - Centaur Moulting:
- Centaur Moulting is a very strange biological phenomenon found in very few other species across UPA space. Over time, various small organs in the centaur body produces 'moulting cells', which are similar in nature to stem cells. They build over a process of years, and when they fill, they start slowly processing excess moulting cells through the bloodstream, strengthening the centaur immune system. However, all of this is just infrastructure to moulting properly- When a centaur takes significant damage, he or she can moult, releasing all of the cells at once. Each organ bursts, and start entirely refurbishing the centaur's body, 'artificially' aging it, healing all of their wounds and missed limbs, and completely resetting their metabolism. Due to a peculiarity with centaur genes, they're unable to age without moulting, and so it is their primary method of physical development. This has given them a peculiar, combat-based culture.
- Directly after moulting, a centaur is out of excess moult cells, and so their healing rate is incredibly weakened, and it can be months or even years before they're returned to their former robust biology. If a centaur is required to moult twice over a short period, it doesn't end well- after each moulting gland bursts, their shell cracks, and the refurbishment runs on until the centaur is left dead or dying. Death soon follows.
- Fortunately, barring damages made while a centaur is unconscious, moulting is a conscious procedure and can be triggered or resisted deliberately.

- The technopathic worm has been decoded entirely. We... *believe* that we can allow a psion to learn new disciplines rather easily, as long as they have a 'teacher' with technopathy as well. It's a rather massive breakthrough, but due to Sigma's peculiarities, we can't quite have her do it. Maybe with Jilly's help...
- Day 24: (MONDAY) THREAD 56 MID
- Tip of the Day - Trid!NOW article from yesterday morning:
- "Gentlemen, ladies, gender-neutral or hermaphrodite gentleladiesmen... You know how we here like to lambast movies for their laughable plots, lack of knowledge about technology, and terrible characterization? Well, this week, we have something big for you. It's an indie movie, funded and written by an uplift, of all things. And we'll always hold a special place in our heart for this one, folks. Most of the movies we review here have ten minutes explaining why the magical device does what it does as the actors drone on, and on, and on... But not Burrower's Rune.
- Burrower's rune starts out on an advanced research facility out in the middle of nowhere, (as usual). Two women are working there to research new bitz and partz, as they always do, when one woman detects strange biological signals on Burrower's rune (from space?). Turns out, the other woman had a friend there. So they break out of the lab with high tech bitz strapped to them, and go down to the planet to kick ass.
- That's the best part about the movie. It doesn't try to explain anything. It just says 'these gloves use ion propulsion'. And that's that! It's like someone just went 'You know what, I'm never going to get this right, so I'll just make it vague and get on to the fighting' and best of all? It works.
- The entire time, though, the 'friend' was always implied to be a romantic interest. You wait and wait for him to show up and kiss the girl, but this movie subverts the trope instead of following through. He's always just a friend, and the few personacom talks between the two is rather awkward. I like that. The actors had some sort of chemisty, there. And for our two female leads? Now, the chemisty between them... I swear, the director was trying to tease us with those two.
- Now, the twist at the end is rather predictable, but I still won't spoil it here. I happened to run into a private prerelease on a vacation station out in the boonies, but I'm not going to spoil where. You'll have to find that out for yourselves, folks. 'Burrower's Rune' should be coming out in a few weeks, so all of you should get to watching.
- - Edward Rogdon.
- Could always be better, but I was pleasantly surprised. I fully expect a sequel, you guys!
- 4/5 Tachyon Pulses."

- Tip of the Day - Science! Extra-zine, bonus issue; Members only.
- "A breaking new research paper was released specifically to us, this weekend, by the UPA. They've discovered a new phenomenon; people called 'psions', and they're sapient beings with superhuman, unnatural powers. Collected from all of the reports, the UPA have been studying these psions for their abilities. Here's a rough look at what we have so far.
- Bullfrog: Elected to stay anonymous, Bullfrog is an expert on controlling machines, it looks, and powerful telekinetic forces- which means that they can move objects with their mind.
- Serpent: Also elected to stay anonymous, Serpent is a complete telepath, who has the ability to read minds.
- Damien Ruste: Damien is rather unusual, as he's the only one who hasn't elected to stay anonymous. Damien has the ability to see into the *future*, for short amounts. Hah, I recommend none of you try to gamble with him!
- Cake: Cake has probably the most surprising power of all, from what we've found. They can literally, move from one location to another, *instantly*.
- The UPA's stated goal in this endeavour is to learn how these powers work and to use them for the good of all of us! That's all the data we have so far, folks! Tune in next time!"

- Day 27: (Wednesday) - THREAD 60 START
- Tip of the Day - Examined information of ArmaTek Data.
- Rho 124: Genetic information taken from Veronica Descartes, ArmaTek Employee. Transgenetic modification for redundant and amplified nervous systems. Reaction speed superhuman. Sideaffects have made the subject neotenous, but it does not have the same pigmentation issues as the others.
- Pariah: Can relocate to any location, creating a temporary matter that quickly dissolves or evaporates in its place. Has shown the ability to convert physical objects into the same temporary matter.
- Lambda 9997: Genetic information taken from Hector Jameson, ArmaTek Employee. Transgenetic modification for increased visual cortex. Failure of transgene, but the Pariah gene is intact. Sideaffects have given the subject minor epilepsy, anemia, and several pigmentation issues.
- Pariah: Can predict the future with an accuracy of 2.85% chance of error. *Warning*, will be unable to utilize ability without significant, near-fatal calorie loss. Suggested course of action- connect Lambda 9997 Hector to the prototype amplifier.
- Theta 323: Genetic information taken from Hector Jameson, ArmaTek Employee. Transgenetic modification for increased sense of smell and touch. Sideaffects have given the subject several hormone defects and pigmentation issues.
- Pariah: The creation and modification of biological matter. Seems to have an extrasensory ability to percieve the chemical and/or genetic makeup of biological organisms. May be of use in the Omega Project.
- Epsilon 2167: Genetic information taken from Victor Descartes, ArmaTek Employee. Transgenetic modification for increased strength and muscle mass. Failure of transgene, but the Pariah gene is intact. Sideaffects have given the subject a distorted visual cortex (glasses recommended) and several pigmentation issues.
- Pariah: Can move objects from a distance at nearly 10^12 kg of mass without straining self. Apparently gains tactile feedback and knowledge of the objects' density. More testing is recommended- we expect that number is much higher.
- Sigma 3: Genetic information taken from [Struck out of record]. Transgenetic modification for increased sense of touch and enlarged brainstem. Increased sense of pain and pleasure. Sideaffects have given the subject uncontrollable shivers and pigmentation issues.
- Pariah: Direct contact with machinery will allow the subject to directly control it. The process by which this information is transferred is unknown, though we hypothesize that it is related to the subject's increased brainstem. Control is complete, and the subject has claimed that she can 'feel' the machinery kinesthetically.
- Delta 64: Genetic information taken directly from subject Phi. Transgenetic modification sparse. Additional modifications have been made. (see Early Uplift Procedure Delta). Early Uplift Procedure Delta has resulted in minor personality modifications and possible savantism. Sideaffects have given the subject deformations in the spine and legs. Unable to walk.
- Pariah: The ability to create and control inorganic matter. Often utilizes the ability to create and assemble the parts for various bits of machinery. Recommended that the subject is not utilized for Pariah testing, and instead utilized for prototype fabrication. Recommended moved to Facility #812, sector 3C.

- Day 28: (Thursday) - THREAD 63 START
- Tip of the Day - Personacom
- Personacoms (Slang for Personal Computer) was the natural evolution of smartphones from the early 2010s, with small, energy-efficient computers, advanced radios and intelligent programming allowing them to connect either from ad-hoc connections with other personacoms, to large, global internet systems easily and quickly. Around the year 2075, they'd advanced from being small personal touchscreen communicators into full, proper headsets, allowing for seamless use- though one had to tap the lenses of the glasses in order for them to function. In the years 2189, 2387, and 2543, entire new evolutions of personal computers had evolved- from computing power, to programming intelligence, to high connectivity, and lately, the most advanced commercial equipment available, new interfaces. A personacom interface is a complex array of optical lenses and miniature projectors, which shine light directly into their owner's retina, giving them a glasses-less heads up display. From there, the user is simply able to brandish their hands towards where they see the keys, and the personacom's lenses triangulate the position. All in all, it allows for easy, seamless use.

- [GARBAGE TEXT FOLLOWS]
- Day 29: (Friday) - THREAD 67 START
- Tip of the Day - Centaur Religion
- The centaur people were polytheistic, believing in multiple spirits that reigned over each aspect of their world- Kal'Dal*a, Leviathan, as the one who created the centaur people; Heldre*al, Swimmer, the one who created all of the fish in the sea, and Val*vesh, Sleeper, the one who brought minds to the centaur and created all of the stars. These three spirits were the ones that created the centaur homeworld, and the rest were smaller slivers that ruled only their own domains. Due to the particular way centaurs treat other tribes, there was plenty of mixing and matching a tribe's spirits as they met the other tribes- lending out their spirits and learning of others to worship. Priestesses and priests were not a vocation, but a status chosen by bloodline- the daughter of Val*Vesh's priest is likely to become a priestess herself.
- Spirits are not worshipped, or spoken to- centaurs were seen as too insignificant for all but the smallest spirits to be noticed, and because of that, the jobs of the priests weren't to speak to their spirits, but to remember and respect them for doing their jobs, and to remember the stories. It speaks multitudes of pre-spaceflight centaur culture that when it came to their gods, the centaur people didn't even try to speak to them- instead, in their quiet, industrial way, they simply kept them at the forefront of their minds. Waiting to be noticed.
- In the years past centaur spaceflight, and merging with the UPA, the centaur people have acquired both human and nagala gods, trading and mixing them about as they did their own gods. Due to this peculiarity, it isn't uncommon for a centaur to quietly believe in buddha, Val*vesh, Utrios (The nagalan goddess of birth and war) and Kalee'enerul (the centaurian god of the primordial universe, the bones from which all spirits sprung)

- Tip of the Day - Valk Studies
- The Valk were found in the year 2573, during a research experiment with psionics. They were found floating out almost eight thousand light years out from the Orion Arm, and moving at incredible speeds. They were soon located with a quantum probe, and communications started then.
- So far, what we know of the valk are little. Despite their computer technology being several degrees more powerful than ours, they had little knowledge about combat, dark particles, fabricators, artificial intelligence, and most of the technology we have today.
- From what we understand, they're from the Andromeda galaxy, and had traveled a completely devastating amount of time, having escaped their world for political reasons. For all intents and purposes, The valk are a pre-spaceflight species that somehow, through utilization of a nuclear arsenal, traveled to an entire other galaxy because they could. They have a rigid caste system, and biologically, they see, communicate, and 'smell' solely through heat and light. They have no known sense of smell, and have large, purposeless limbs that only have a cultural use.

- DAY 32 (SUNDAY) - THREAD 79 MID
- Tip of the Day - Demiurg Biology
- The Demiurg have long since been a bane to UPA races since their discovery, almost at the same time as we found the Centaur. They lack faster than light travel, polycarbon, transgenetics, and advanced computing, but despite that, we need to fight for every inch of space we plan on keeping. The Demiurg are large, burly humanoids, with two legs and arms, but only three fingers on each hand. They're lizard-like, with scales covering their underbelly and the front of their limbs, but their backs have long spines, akin to a hedgehog. They have, according to all of our research, greater sight, scent, and hearing as human beings, though we're not certain how they communicate.
- Demiurg reproduction is the strangest thing- they are hermaphroditic, and have their testes inside of their body. When demiurg mate, one physically tears testes from its 'mate', and consumes them, where the mate's testes is integrated into its own womb. They give birth to a litter of other demiurg several months from then. The 'father' of such couplings are usually killed, as the testes are close to several important arteries and organs.
