The SitRep - Anon's Log

Anon's log. August 9th, 2014. approximately 1330 hours board time

Its been roughly seventy-two hours since the old writefags announced and executed their mass exodus to fimfic. The whole event was moderately reminiscent of a longtime girlfriend pulling a vanishing act while her boyfriend was out of town.

The recognized names, from the Days of Fingerbang, who have stated they will be remaining for the time being are as follows

Disco
Gaimer Gai
AJT
Munchy
Liquid_Plasma
And of course, Anonymous.


As of this posting. All of the aforementioned have updated, save for Munchy. The foremost has stated he will continue to be present, albeit not as often as before, despite being both something of a figurehead for Fingerbang as well as confirming the Exodus. Gamer Gai has announced interest in leading us to our salvation There is also now an Anon calling himself a temp. disco until things get further situated and the fledgling thread firmly establishes a new identity. Speaking of which...

...There is now talks that we should no longer call ourselves Fingerbang. Fingerbang will have essentially died/walked out the door with the Exodus. Its spirit will live in what we are now discussing: A Thread for, in the words of one anon;

>an All-purpose humanized general thread. Anything and everything humanized welcome. Humanized Art, Humanized Fics, EQG art, EQG fics, Maids, normal norman, fingerbang, smut, suggestions for any of the afformentioned, all of it welcome

This idea seems to be somewhat supported by the thread, though while we have yet to come up with/agree upon a name for ourselves. The thread is coursing along slowly but surely and, with all hope, will hit the reply limit before it 404's.

While the events that had transpired earlier this week had left me feeling bleak and hopeless I am now watching the thread closely, curious to see what direction we will drift in. Maybe there is hope after all

Anon's Log. August, 12th, 2014, Approximately 2:55 Board time. Circa Seven days A.E. (After Exodus)

Despite our writers turning their backs on us, the events in the thread have taken a turn for the better by far.

These past few days, I've seen many a names I do not recognize (presumably new) and an sudden influx of traffic, the likes of which I've not seen since my own Exile from AIE. Discussions are lively and active, and feedback is the highest and most wholesome I've seen it since leaving my old home

A handful of Followers of writer by the name of BiscuitAnon, who has vanished under equally peculiar circumstances, are now flocking to this thread and calling it their home. From what I understand, Their ilk are such tremendous fans of said author's work, that they have taken it upon themselves to continue his story in light of his absence

More poles have been conducted to gather a consensus of what we will name ourselves and what our copypasta for the OP will be. I've been making one suggestion after the next under the banner of Anonymous in this thread and the last. Hopefully my actions will guide the fledgling thread for the better, especially considering the influx of traffic

Gaimer Gai has continued to guide us and insists to persist in doing, despite the pressures, distractions and problem the bleak, dreary and insipid parallel universe known as 'IRL' continue to confront him with. His dedication is admirable, may it never Falter

About a week ago, our writers left us en masse for FimFic (The event I call the Exodus)

Naturally we begged them not to leave but they left anyway, even though they departed with nearly no warning whatsoever. The rest of us had no clue until they were already gone.

In our previous thread...We had to address the fact that Fingerbang was Teetering on the brink of extinction. Though some writers stayed, (IE Gaimer and AJT) the vast majority had abandoned us, thus our thread did not have enough traffic to be self-sustaining. Of course, Fingerbang was barely eking out on the edge of the 404 graveyard even before the exodus. Threads often had to resort to reposts and excessive bumps in order to stay afloat

So...After much Deliberation, we came to the consensus that we need to adapt to survive. By changing ourselves from fingerbang to an 'all purpose EQG/Humanized thread', or whatever we end up calling ourselves, we hope to become more self sustaining and avoid the problems that nearly killed fingerbang in the first place. Merging with other humanized threads will help us draw in more traffic and we rationalize that other humanized threads will be down to merge seeing as some of them are having the same problems we are. Even if they don't want to merge they at least know who we are and may decide to become regular visitors

Anon's Log. August, 14th, 2014, Approx 2:45 board time. 9 days AE (After Exodus)

24 hours ago, we launched our first official new thread, hereafter flying under the banner of The EQG/Humanized thread

Seeing as this is 4chan, ergo the dregs and scum of humankind all mixed together in a shallow drunken stupor, any new general is sure to be greeted with cries of hate and scornful heckling and we were certainly no exception. Within minutes of our launch, an entire peanut gallery fully of unrelenting shitposters begin bombarding the thread with garbage so tired and overused, even the likes of /b/ would be inclined to roll their eyes

While various names in the thread, both new and old, attempted to steer us clear of the damage they ultimately could not control the chaos and the infantile general veered off into a harsh 404 at the hands of scruffy. A through scruffening, if you would

A second thread was launched and rightfully so. It'd be rather anticlimactic for us to simply give up after our past week of deliberation over our future for no greater reason than a colossal dump of mediocre bait. While there had been further attempts of shitposting in the dawning stages of our current thread, it has since subsided and Gaimer Gai, AJT and Prince of Autumn reared in a pleasant breath of fresh greentext. More and more trip codes claiming various origins or no origins at all have been spotted and I have a positive feeling that this is merely the tip of the iceberg.

Anon's log. August 22nd, Approx 3:10 AM board time, Circa sixteen days A.E. (After Exodus)

Our current thread is coasting along slowly but surely. I've seen more fresh green here than I have since the days of the oldwritefags.

While traffic is not booming, we see the occasional green, the occasional shitpost, the occasional picture, the occasional discussion...All in all I think its safe to say things have returned to normal

My days of writing Anon's log are coming to a close. With the aftershock of the exodus having passed over and our thread now having fully shaken off the turbulence, there is little left for me to report. I'll be around to report any sudden burst of melodrama that threatens our existence, but for now it seems time to venture forth into new territories

I'm now seeking a future on a collaborative Sci-Fi space opera. Gaimer Gai, Myself and, hopefully others, Will be teaming up to brainstorm for our first shared fictional universe. I have great ambitions for this series. I hope it to be a game-changer for the general, possibly even the board all together. Never before have I allowed others to deny me of my Delusions of Grandeur. Here and now will be no exception
