  1. [20:14] * visceralVanguard [VV] began conversing with jocoseZirconium [JZ]
  2. [20:15] <@visceralVanguard> Hello, Zach? Is this a bad time to contact you?
  3. [20:15] <@visceralVanguard> Last we talked you seemed as though you would be having quite a great deal of important and time sensitive issues to address.
  4. [20:15] <jocoseZirconium> Oh, Faerzen!
  5. [20:15] <jocoseZirconium> Good to hear from you.
  6. [20:15] <jocoseZirconium> And no, this is a fine time to chat.
  7. [20:15] <jocoseZirconium> There's been quite alot since we last talked.
  8. [20:16] <@visceralVanguard> How has your, shall I say, "experiment" with rounding people up to face their own deaths been turning out?
  9. [20:16] <jocoseZirconium> Poorly.
  10. [20:16] <jocoseZirconium> Only because a suprising number did it themselves.
  11. [20:16] <@visceralVanguard> Oh?
  12. [20:16] <jocoseZirconium> Yes.
  13. [20:16] <@visceralVanguard> I cannot say I was anticipating that as a likely outcome, even from my limited pool of information.
  14. [20:17] <jocoseZirconium> Kara, the girl i believe i mentioned earlier managed to.
  15. [20:17] <jocoseZirconium> Others possibly.
  16. [20:17] <@visceralVanguard> Why did they kill themselves?
  17. [20:17] <@visceralVanguard> It takes a great deal or either certainty or desperation to kill yourself believing that it will result in your revival.
  18. [20:17] <jocoseZirconium> They didn't
  19. [20:18] <jocoseZirconium> I believe she was killed after finding her bed.
  20. [20:18] <@visceralVanguard> Well shit.
  21. [20:18] <jocoseZirconium> Yes.
  22. [20:18] <jocoseZirconium> And my... quest has been postponed.
  23. [20:18] <@visceralVanguard> Do you have some murderous force in your session as well that has been killing people? How did she die?
  24. [20:19] <jocoseZirconium> I'm not sure.
  25. [20:19] <jocoseZirconium> She's elsewhere I think.
  26. [20:19] <jocoseZirconium> Somehow I was sent to an outpost, a meteor, in the Furthest Ring.
  27. [20:19] <@visceralVanguard> The Furthest Ring?
  28. [20:20] <jocoseZirconium> Yes.
  29. [20:20] <jocoseZirconium> From what I know, it's a location far outside Skaia.
  30. [20:21] <jocoseZirconium> There may be some temporal changes regarding it as well.
  31. [20:23] <@visceralVanguard> Interesting. You said you are on a meteor out there? How and why is that where you are presently located? Is there anything particularly interesting or useful there?
  32. [20:24] <@visceralVanguard> A meteor does not seem like a particularly interesting or practical place to be.
  33. [20:24] <jocoseZirconium> To be honest, I'm not sure how exactly I ended up here.
  34. [20:24] <jocoseZirconium> It is quite interesting, we seem to be on some kind of complex.
  35. [20:25] <jocoseZirconium> I've been doing some things with friends here.
  36. [20:25] <jocoseZirconium> Have you met Jonah?
  37. [20:25] <jocoseZirconium> Or Rukshu?
  38. [20:25] <@visceralVanguard> I have never heard either of their names before.
  39. [20:25] <jocoseZirconium> And finally, I haven't been able to get outside yet.
  40. [20:28] <@visceralVanguard> What do you mean by the phrase "temporal changes"? I am aware that time travel is a very feasible reality in this game, but your statement is quite unclear.
  41. [20:28] <jocoseZirconium> I think that relatively to Skaia, time flows slower out here.
  42. [20:28] <jocoseZirconium> I was told the reckoning would happen in 12 hours. Its been more than that I think.
  43. [20:29] <jocoseZirconium> Could be something odd.
  44. [20:29] <@visceralVanguard> That is peculiar.
  45. [20:29] <jocoseZirconium> I'm sure its nothing.
  46. [20:30] <jocoseZirconium> I'm fairly sure that where we are is inhabited by some kind of dark god.
  47. [20:30] <jocoseZirconium> Or gods.
  48. [20:30] <jocoseZirconium> Not malevolent, just dark.
  49. [20:30] <@visceralVanguard> How do you mean "god"? That word carries a very wide range of connotations.
  50. [20:31] <jocoseZirconium> I believe it is a deity.
  51. [20:31] <jocoseZirconium> Limity, but extremely powerful.
  52. [20:31] <jocoseZirconium> Skaia limits it's presence in the Medium.
  53. [20:31] <jocoseZirconium> It only spoke to me through a book, which i will dub the Necroteuch, and two Acolytes.
  54. [20:32] <@visceralVanguard> Is this the "cult" per se that you mentioned previously in relation to your source of information regarding reviving upon death on these rock slabs?
  55. [20:32] <jocoseZirconium> Yes.
  56. [20:35] <jocoseZirconium> Do you have any information regarding any deities?
  57. [20:35] <jocoseZirconium> Perhaps, some kind of anti- or a-Skaia?
  58. [20:36] <@visceralVanguard> No, I am afraid I do not. I can do some research if it would be helpful to you.
  59. [20:37] <@visceralVanguard> I have been doing a great deal of historical research and investigation in an attempt to better ascertain what my goals should be at the present.
  60. [20:37] <jocoseZirconium> What ave you found?
  61. [20:38] <@visceralVanguard> So far I have only investigated specifically information regarding my land.
  62. [20:39] <@visceralVanguard> That, as a matter of fact, brings me to the primary reason I contacted you.
  63. [20:39] <jocoseZirconium> Oh?
  64. [20:39] <@visceralVanguard> I have obtained some insight into some background of the role I am to play in my land, including this so called "title" you mentioned the game giving you.
  65. [20:39] <@visceralVanguard> As unreliable as Byron is, he also mentioned having received a similar title upon reviving.
  66. [20:41] <@visceralVanguard> You said that your title was a "Knight of Life", though as of last we spoke, you had yet to grasp what exactly the implications of that were.
  67. [20:41] <jocoseZirconium> Yes, I have some extra info on that if you wish as well.
  68. [20:41] <jocoseZirconium> Later though.
  69. [20:42] <@visceralVanguard> As it turns out, I am reasonably certain I have a similar title.
  70. [20:43] <@visceralVanguard> I have found several sources that refer to me as "Knight of Light".
  71. [20:43] <jocoseZirconium> Haha, it rhymes!
  72. [20:43] <jocoseZirconium> Anyhow.
  73. [20:43] <jocoseZirconium> What is :light" in this context?
  74. [20:43] <@visceralVanguard> I can only presume that this is because of the great plethora of light filling my land, or vice versa, but I do not really understand what that means.
  75. [20:43] <jocoseZirconium> "Life" is fairly obvious, luckily.
  76. [20:45] <@visceralVanguard> I have little to no grasp on the meaning or significance of these titles to begin with, let alone the nuances and definitions of terminology within such a system like "Light" and "Knight".
  77. [20:45] <jocoseZirconium> Indeed.
  78. [20:45] <jocoseZirconium> From what I can understand from my limited knowledge of my powers,
  79. [20:45] <jocoseZirconium> I can manipulate livingthings.
  80. [20:45] <jocoseZirconium> Only currently living things, mind you.
  81. [20:45] <jocoseZirconium> I can heal myself, and telekinetically move imps, stuff like that.
  82. [20:46] <jocoseZirconium> And flight, of course.
  83. [20:46] <jocoseZirconium> Perhaps I'm telekinetic'ing myself.
  84. [20:46] <@visceralVanguard> Byron is also able to fly and he has an entirely different title, so I am not certain about the veracity of that last hypothesis.
  85. [20:47] <jocoseZirconium> Then it is perhaps an ability of all ascended players.
  86. [20:48] <@visceralVanguard> Possibly. Making such a conclusion off of two data points is quite a shaky conclusion indeed.
  87. [20:49] <jocoseZirconium> Yep;
  88. [20:49] <jocoseZirconium> Only hypotheses at this juncture.
  89. [20:50] <@visceralVanguard> As is with most everything in this game, unfortunately.
  90. [20:51] <jocoseZirconium> This is truly a scientifically annoying game.
  91. [20:53] <@visceralVanguard> Is there anything else besides the "gods" you mentioned that you would like me to attempt to uncover information about?
  92. [20:53] <jocoseZirconium> Not particularly.
  93. [20:54] <jocoseZirconium> How is the rest of your "Session" doing?
  94. [20:54] <@visceralVanguard> Honestly, I am not entirely certain.
  95. [20:55] <@visceralVanguard> As much as I hate to say it, I became quite fed up with micromanaging so many players and forces in the game that refused to cooperate so I rather disconnected myself from things for the time being to get myself reoriented.
  96. [20:55] <@visceralVanguard> Managing my fellow players has generally been quite useful, but it also has come at a great cost of having little to no time to actually make any significant process on other more short term or more personal goals.
  97. [20:55] <jocoseZirconium> Fair.
  98. [20:56] <jocoseZirconium> I'll try to contact some of them perhaps.
  99. [20:56] <jocoseZirconium> For now, I'll get to know the fellow inhabitants of the meteor.
  100. [20:56] <@visceralVanguard> I have no doubt that things will be in quite the disarray when I return, but at this point I wish to let things take their natural course for a brief while.
  101. [20:56] <@visceralVanguard> I will return to them shortly and attempt to survey the overall situation then.
  102. [20:57] <@visceralVanguard> I believe you becoming better acquainted with your fellow players is likely a very wise decision.
  103. [20:57] <@visceralVanguard> Best of luck with that.
  104. [20:58] <jocoseZirconium> Thank you.
  105. [20:58] <@visceralVanguard> As always, I would recommend exercising great caution. If you not only have to deal with killing your teammates, having your teammates kill themselves, being located on a meteor and an impending Reckoning, adding "dark deities", whatever that is supposed to mean, is likely not going to help.
  106. [20:58] <jocoseZirconium> And good luck on your personal goals.
  107. [20:58] <jocoseZirconium> Don't worry.
  108. [20:58] <jocoseZirconium> I'm no longer able to even attempt to god tier more of my fellows.
  109. [20:59] <@visceralVanguard> The more I read, the more significant these obstacles are becoming, but knowing that what I am against against is a great challenge is far preferable to not knowing what I am up against.
  110. [21:00] <jocoseZirconium> It does seem that the odds are against us players.
  111. [21:00] <jocoseZirconium> Certainly in our session, and perhaps your own.
  112. [21:03] <@visceralVanguard> We shall see. Sometimes it seems here that the manifestation of "the odds being stacked against us" manifests itself through our own players.
  113. [21:04] <@visceralVanguard> I am attempting to work as hard as I can against said "odds", but I have doubts on whether or not it will be enough.
  114. [21:04] <jocoseZirconium> Have faith.
  115. [21:04] <@visceralVanguard> In the end, there is really only one way to find out, and that is to work and to try.
  116. [21:04] <jocoseZirconium> Truly.
  117. [21:04] <@visceralVanguard> We shall see the outcome in time.
  118. [21:05] <jocoseZirconium> I must go.
  119. [21:05] <jocoseZirconium> My friend is battling a sentient treadmill.
  120. [21:05] <jocoseZirconium> I think he's losing.
  121. [21:05] <@visceralVanguard> Well then I do not wish to keep you! That seems quite the dire situation!
  122. [21:05] <@visceralVanguard> :P
  123. [21:05] <@visceralVanguard> Best of luck fighting rogue gym equipment, I suppose?
  124. [21:05] <jocoseZirconium> Thank you, I'm sure I'll need it!
  125. [21:06] <@visceralVanguard> I never believed I would ever utter that sentence, but this game brings about a first time for a lot of things.
  126. [21:06] <jocoseZirconium> Fare well.
  127. [21:06] <@visceralVanguard> Talk to you later, Zach.
  128. [21:06] <jocoseZirconium> Hopefully we'll talk again soon.
  129. [21:06] * visceralVanguard [VV] bid farewell to jocoseZirconium [JZ]
