  1. [2013-10-13 19:46:59] <Falconis> You approach general Peng and her flock. Before you even get close you are stopped by a stern looking woman with long sleeves. A pidove sits on her arm, explaining where the feathers in her hair came from

  4. [2013-10-13 19:49:21] * Dinah flashes the stern woman a... well she tries to smile, but its definitely a little strained. "I wished to meet the woman whom was able to fight her way to the top, the Great general Peng. I felt such a woman was to be respected and I may find some intriguing conversation about her."

  17. [2013-10-13 20:00:57] * Dinah flashes her a polite smile as she resumes approaching Peng after a parting comment. "Thank you kindly. And my apologies for not identifying myself sooner"

  20. [2013-10-13 20:11:47] * Dinah heads for the crowd hoping it wont be as bad as she thinks
  21. [2013-10-13 20:14:25] <Falconis> You head deeper into the crowd of women, drawing inquisitive glances and whispers as you plunge deeper. In a few steps you stand before a circle of women seated around a low table with General Peng opposite you.
  22. [2013-10-13 20:15:49] <Falconis> She pauses in her recounting of an areal battle against a dragon type and peers up at you "Oh, a face I haven't seen before. What do you want?"
  23. [2013-10-13 20:15:51] * Dinah glances around, taking in General peng and the flock of women around her absently.
  24. [2013-10-13 20:21:45] <Falconis> Peng quirks an eyebrow and waves slowly "Hello... is she broken?"
  25. [2013-10-13 20:21:57] <Falconis> [Woman 1]"Perhaps she has no tongue"

  32. [2013-10-13 20:23:38] <Dinah> "My name is Dinah, an Assistant to Diplomat Yu. More seriously I came to meet miss General Peng, I've heard many good things about you and was interested."
  33. [2013-10-13 20:24:36] * Dinah reaches to her hip as she stands casually almost stumbling, obviously expecting something to be there to rest her arm on that is not. Fancy dress is obviously not her Forte.
  34. [2013-10-13 20:25:19] <Falconis> Peng smiles wanly and leans back slightly "Well I suppose I have some time to talk to a fan, please have a seat and tell me what interests you so"
  35. [2013-10-13 20:26:21] * Dinah takes a moment to seat herself, trying to mimic the way the others seat. "Primarily I am interested in the story of a Commonborn soldier who raised the ranks through skill and willpower. As someone in a similar situation."
  36. [2013-10-13 20:26:48] * Dinah absently pats beside her as Asher takes a seat to her left.
  37. [2013-10-13 20:30:21] <Falconis> "Oh? Trying to climb the diplomatic ladder? It's good to have spunk in any field I guess." She smiles "What can I say, I saw an opportunity to help the empress on the field of battle and pressed forward with determination until I am where I am today"

  39. [2013-10-13 20:31:25] <Dinah> "Ah. Not so much. While I'd like to raise my rank, it's secondary to becoming better at what I do. I figure when my skill can not be ignored, everything else will fall into line"
  40. [2013-10-13 20:35:10] <Falconis> She nods her head "That is the basis of it all yes, but not the total. All the skill in the world amounts to nothing without some trusted companions. Believe me. I used to be like that, trusting only in the strength of my bow arm and the ferocity of Jun, my Staravia but I would have never been more than a footsoldier, a highly ranked one sure, but a soldier, without being able to speak with...

  44. [2013-10-13 20:36:57] * Dinah seems to dwell on her words for several long moments before she ruffles Ashers head with a genuine smile. The advice seems sound as she inclines her head respectfully towards Peng. "That makes far too much sense to ignore, Perhaps one day i'll even becomes friends with someone like you. It is an Amazing sentiment I will take to heart"

  46. [2013-10-13 20:41:26] <Falconis> The women around the table begin to chatter with each other again talking about everything from silk to weather and Peng joins in
  47. [2013-10-13 20:44:29] * Dinah stays quiet for a few moments as they talk, debating leaving before the talk of fabric comes up. She takes a moment before politely cutting in to the woman discussing silk. "While not quite so fine as Silk, do you happen to know a good Seamstress whom can work with Mareep Fabric?"
  48. [2013-10-13 20:47:55] <Falconis> [Woman 5]"I do know of one, a young lady in the Guan Hi district, everything she touches seems to turn into gold"
  49. [2013-10-13 20:48:25] <Falconis> [Peng]"Oh really? Why haven't you told me about such a wondrous talent Mai?"
  50. [2013-10-13 20:48:47] <Dinah> "Oh my, perhaps if I have time I will seek her out. I recently traded a pink Mareep but got to keep its first sheering, I would love to turn that soft shaded fabric into something beautiful"
  51. [2013-10-13 20:48:59] <Falconis> [Mai?]"Oh well, I haven't gotten a chance to bring it up till now mistress"
  52. [2013-10-13 20:49:30] <Falconis> Word of a pink mareep sends ooing and aaahing around the table

  55. [2013-10-13 20:50:36] <Dinah> "It was absolutely lovely but honestly it didn't get along with me well and i knew a man whom wanted to study what made it pink, he was a kind enough fellow. He offered me a hefty price and the first sheering. Sadly it doesn't seem the pink will pass on to its offspring"

  57. [2013-10-13 20:54:13] <Dinah> "I would be happy too, to be fair I've been regretting it a bit and am almost tempted to try and get it back later on once he has had time to study it. You'll have to talk to Diplomat yu about sending a letter to Professor Cue though if you'd like to try and get it first"

  59. [2013-10-13 20:56:12] <Dinah> "If you'd like to see the sheering perhaps one day soon I'll bring it by so you can see it."

  61. [2013-10-13 21:00:18] <Falconis> With a ruffle of feathers and a woosh of wind, a Staravia flies through the nearby window and lands beside General Peng

  63. [2013-10-13 21:00:49] <Falconis> She hugs it and says stuff in a muffled voice in it's neck, it seems unamused
  64. [2013-10-13 21:01:23] * Dinah giggles softly at its look though she understands, one hand still on Asher beside her.
  65. [2013-10-13 21:02:10] <Falconis> After a few moments of that she turns back to the table "Talk to me after the banquet and we'll set up a way to meet"
  66. [2013-10-13 21:02:29] <Falconis> You feel as if a set of beady eyes are boring into the back of your neck
  67. [2013-10-13 21:03:19] <Dinah> "That sounds delightful, for now I have this feeling Yu is worried I am causing an international Incident. So I will find you again later, and thank you again. This has been a wonderful evening"
  68. [2013-10-13 21:05:58] * Dinah stands and returns towards Yu with Asher at her side
