All board members are accounted for, except School Board Member Elaine Merriweather who is out of town at the NEA Conference in D.C on July 3rd, so we are ready to go with the meeting at Harding Elementary.  Look for a spirited discussion about next steps, what should be polled, and what are our priorities.

Questions still remain about how to run the campaign, how to raise funding to enable to connect with voters and how to outreach to parents throughout the school district. As many are aware, some areas had parents who were less than enthusiastic about the district seeking a renewal plus a slight increase for the parcel tax.  Please also note that some parts of the district want a bond for school renovation. All of this will be discussed, and we look forward to hearing your comments, on July 2nd at 6:30 PM.  Dr. Harter will also introduce the item and then the four duly elected school board member will provide staff direction with a vote on next steps for November.

If you get a chance notify other community members about this meeting that is now confirmed knowing that four board members and the Superintendent are available.  Talk with everyone soon.

Subject: Special Board Meeting- Moving Forward

For your information. I will keep you posted. The meeting is scheduled for Harding Elementary in the Auditorium.  I hope that you will get the word out to those in the community. I am sure that many will be on vacation, but to have a November election, we cannot wait.  So, just understand that this is an effort to not lose any momentum. I want to make sure that we hear from parents and community members.  So, please understand that I know that it might be difficult to rally people, but I have to move this issue forward. Below is the email from our Superintendent to the board and cabinet.

I want to continue to encourage all of you to give your voice to the discussion and to know that I am working hard to make something happen positive for the district.
