ROLAND DAGGETT IS ON HIS COT, STEWING IN THE DARKNESS OF HIS LAVISH & PRIVILEGED CELL. HE HEARS THE PRISON GUARD TRYING IN VAIN TO PULL THE TONGUE OFF THE WALL. ROLAND DAGGETT STANDS UP TO SEE WHAT THE TROUBLE IS, & IS PERPLEXED AT THE ANSWER. HE IS ALSO IRRITATED.))

HER “ROPE” HAND HAS REFLEXIVELY MORPHED BACK INTO HER NORMAL HAND. SHE GRUNTS AT THE LANDING. THERE IS NO CLAY SPLATTER. ANNIE DOES SEEM TO BE IN PAIN, BUT ONLY AS MUCH AS IF SHE HAD TRIPPED OVER SOMETHING. SHE SITS UP AFTER RECOVERING. BABY STEPS OVER TO HER CAUTIOUSLY.))

A STEPPING SOUND COMES FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DOOR. BABY IS BLINDED BY THE LIGHT WHEN THE DOOR IS OPENED. TOYMAN, SILHOUETTED BY THE LIGHT, IS NOW WEARING THE EMPLOYEE’S UNIFORMED. BABY IS OF COURSE LOOKING TERRIFIED.))
