  9. The warstrider Mata-Yadh, the Dawn-Aurora Colossus, is in many ways symbolic of the return of the Solars, encompassing both the hope of their return, their triumphs over many of the threats facing Creation, the miraculous excellence of their craftsmanship, and the fallen age in which they've found themselves. It was forged by the Solar artificer [PC Twilight caste] following their circle's triumph over the Wyld behemoth Mata-Yadh, the Congeries of Obsidian and Aurora, using the obsidian remnants of the behemoth's corpse. It is notable for using very small amounts of the Five Magical Materials in its construction for a warstrider, as the artisan who created it had limited access to the wonder-metals of the First Age.

  11. Indeed, the only such material used was an alloy of Orichalcum diluted with the sun-catching metallic resin of the Firmin demons, which was used to create the warstrider's skeleton and armor plating; its muscles were the ropy tentacle-strands of the demons known as the Hopping Puppeteers, while its nerves were the glass fibers the Fulope demons use to connect to the nerves of the victims they possess. Instead of a conventional head, it was built so that the obsidian body of Mata-Yadh was mounted on top of its body like the crest of a warrior's helmet, and it has a face across its chest, with a mighty mouth along its stomach. Upon its back are a pair of wings, not used for flight, but to store its weapons: the man-sized obsidian claws that had been Mata-Yadh's legs, but which now carried fire cannons. Within its torso lies a cockpit containing a dome of screens forged from hardened Cecylenian glass. When the warstrider is active, they display the exterior of the warstrider, allowing the pilot to have a field of view nearly unparalleled among modern warstriders, and tendrils of the prismatic aurora for which the warstrider and the behemoth who preceded it were named reach up to embrace the pilot to allow them to control it.

  13. The Intelligence of the Dawn-Aurora Colossus
  14. When Mata-Yadh was bathed in the fires of a Neomah's tower during its forging, the fires kindled a new spark of life within the dead obsidian that was once a behemoth and the hellish components that formed it to form a new, living being; in a way, it was a form of reincarnation for the slain behemoth. It is a fully sapient being, if a young one, and it is capable of communication with its pilot through a metallic, synthetic voice and holo-glyphs that appear within the cockpit and upon its screens. It has Resolve 4, Guile 1, Willpower 7, and rolls 9 dice for Social Influence. It regains a point of Willpower each day. It possesses the following Intimacies:
  15. Defining Tie: My master (Loyalty); this tie is sorcerously enforced, and cannot be weakened or altered.
  16. Major Tie: Creation (Curiosity)
  17.
  18. Default Weapons of the Dawn-Aurora Colossus:
  19. Unarmed: +5 ACC, +10B DMG, +0 DEF, OVW 3, Grappling, Natural, Smashing
  20. Bite: +1 ACC, +14L DMG, +0 DEF, OVW 6, Natural, Piercing
  21. Firedust Cannon: Close ACC +1; Short +5; 18L DMG, OVW 5, Flame
  22.
  23. Evocations of Mata-Yadh, the Dawn-Aurora Colossus:
  24. The mechanisms of the Dawn-Aurora Colossus allow it to ready its weapons reflexively. Additionally, due to its profusion of cannons on its wings, it may ignore the Slow tag on attacks with such weapons as long as at least one such weapon is still active for each attack the user wishes to make; enemies can disable each of its ten guns in turn using a Disable Arm gambit. Finally, when it attacks with a weapon with the Flame tag, it may ignore ammunition requirements, as it shoots bolts of its aurora rather than firedust.
  25.
  26. Aurora Feathers Swarming
  27. Essence 2
  28. The feathers of Mata-Yadh's wings are each one of the former legs of the Congeries of Obsidian and Aurora, which were connected to the main body of the behemoth through nothing but tendrils of aurora. The warstrider inherited that ability, being able to separate them from its body, sending them flying forth to attack their opponents while connected to the body of the warstrider through tendrils of multicolored light while their optic sensors relay their vision to the pilot. This charm functions identically to the God's Eye Reticule evocation of the Cathedral of Sublime Creation, except it does not grant a benefit to Accuracy at Extreme range, instead allowing the warstrider to ignore penalties to its attacks or Sight-based perception that reflect cover or concealment that the feathers can maneuver around, like an enemy that is hiding behind a wall that the feathers can fly over and attack from above.
  29.
  30. Blinding Aurora
  31. Essence 2
  32. This evocation functions identically to the charm of the same name belonging Mata-Yadh the Congeries of Obsidian and Aurora.
  33.
  34. Flightless Bird Racing
  35. Essence 2
  36. Prerequisite: Blinding Aurora
  37. While the wings of Mata-Yadh do not allow for flight, that is not to say they do not assist its mobility. Spreading its wings and opening vents within its legs and upon its back, the Dawn-Aurora Colossus propels itself towards its enemies on tongues of its fiery aurora, floating just above the ground. This charm is identical to the charm Many-Legged Pursuit possessed by Mata-Yadh, the Congeries of Obsidian and Aurora, but it adds (Essence) successes to the roll instead of 5 dice.
  38.
  39. Prism-Pyre Immolation
  40. Essence 2
  41. Prerequisites: Aurora Feathers Swarming, Blinding Aurora
  42. The mouth of the warstrider yawns wide until it entirely detaches, the upper torso of the warstrider floating above its legs and waist, connected to them by a bonfire of its aurora's light, before grabbing an enemy and thrusting them into the flames to be suspended and burned within them. This functions identically to the charm of the same name possessed by Mata-Yadh the Congeries of Obsidian and Aurora, except that it grants (Essence) successes instead of five dice to the initial roll, and the warstrider may reach into the flames of its aurora to withdraw an enemy grappled this way, transferring them into a normal grapple with the same number of rounds remaining as the original grapple. If the warstrider grapples an enemy with Legendary Size with this charm, it may take the savage action against them, as its fanged jaws gnash them.
  43.
  44. Wings Spread, Death Blossoms
  45. Essence 3
  46. Prerequisite: Aurora Feathers Swarming
  47. Targetting hologlyphs blossoming along the warstrider's screens marking each enemy, Mata-Yadh unleases a devastating attack as its fire cannons unleash blast after blast at its enemies until none remain within range remain unscathed. This charm functions identically to the charm Raking Obsidian Shards possessed by Mata-Yadh, the Congeries of Obsidian and Aurora, except it uses its fire cannons to make these attacks.
  48.
  49. Rocket Punch
  50. Essence 3
  51. Prerequisite: Orichalcum Fists of Battle
  52. The behemoth Mata-Yadh possessed twelve obsidian legs, and yet the warstrider has ten feathers upon its wings. Where are the other two, therefore? They rest upon the backs of its arms, and by channeling their essence into them, the warstrider's pilot can unleash a devastating attack, as the aurora of the warstrider congeals arounds its fists before explosively launching the man-sized weapon of devastation across the battlefield to punch an enemy! This Evocation enhances the Solar charm Orichalcum Fists of Battle, allowing a Solar pilot to enhance the warstrider's unarmed attacks. Additionally, when they use the Instant version of the charm, they can opt to detach one of the warstrider's arms at the elbow, and launch one of the warstrider's fists at an enemy at up to Medium range, resolving the Brawl attack normally; the cost of doing so is the warstrider suffering a temporary Crippling injury to its arm until it gets reattached with a Miscellaneous Action that can be taken once the warstrider is within Short Range to their detached fist, causing a tendril of aurora reaches out to connect to the severed limb and pull it back to the warstrider's body to be reattached.
  53.
  54. Foe-Snatching Grasp
  55. Essence 3
  56. Prerequisite: Prism-Pyre Immolation
  57. This evocation functions identically to the charm of the same name possessed by Mata-Yadh, the Congeries of Obsidian and Aurora.
  58.
  59. God-Monster Revival
  60. Essence 4
  61. Prerequisites: Wings Spread, Death Blossoms
  62. Like the behemoth it was born from the corpse of, the Dawn-Aurora Colossus is often composed of disparate parts connected together through the warstrider's aurora. As its pilot masters its power, it can even piece itself back together, its aurora reaching out to its broken fragments to re-attach them to its body, welding them back into place through its essence. This evocation functions identically to the charm of the same name possessed by Mata-Yadh, the Congeries of Obsidian and Aurora.
  63.
  64. Aurora Bleed
  65. Essence 4
  66. Prerequisites: Foe-Snatching Grasp
  67. Like the anima banner of an exalt, the aurora of the Dawn-Aurora Colossus flows through its entire body, and when an foe dares to strike it, the damage can release the power contained within it upon them. This evocation functions identically to the charm of the same name possessed by Mata-Yadh, the Congeries of Obsidian and Aurora, except that it can't be triggered by self-inflicted limb-crippling effects like those caused by Rocket Punch.
  68.
  69. Reality-Stabilizing Cannonade
  70. Essence 4
  71. Prerequisites: Either Aurora Bleed or God-Monster Revival
  72. While Mata-Yadh was born from the Wyld, its rebirth involved its Solar creator using the materials of Hell. While the Yozis have lost much of their creative ability, they were once the architects that wrought Creation from the Wyld, and the Dawn-Aurora Colossus has inherited the merest fragment of this creative power. This evocation functions identically to the evocation of the same name possessed by the Cathedral of Sublime Annihilation.
  73.
  74. Godsigh of Noonday Triumph
  75. Essence 5
  76. Prerequisites: Reality-Stabilizing Cannonade
  77. Releasing the feathers of its wings to orbit around itself, the Dawn-Aurora Colossus marks an enemy for utter destruction. Energies build upon the tips of each of the fire cannons, as a circle of arcing energy connects them, until an almighty blast of power capable of leveling battlefields is unleashed to destroy the pilot's selected foes. This evocation functions identically to the evocation of the same name possessed by the Cathedral of Sublime Annihilation.
