A: There is, but in their case, there’s usually no reason to keep them in a physical form to their limit, so when there’s no need for them, they’re in hiding. Puck’s poor fuel economy is a problem, too, but part of that was keeping Emilia from being aware of how far above average her mana capacity is.

A: If it's the Emilia at the current point of arc six, they're about equal.

A: I doubt you could push Reinhard to his limits, but if I put them in order, it might be Reinhard, Garf, Wilhelm, Julius, Subaru, Otto, Ferris. It’s a mystery if they could give him a good challenge, though, even if they did their best.

Q: Of course Subaru has shadow magic affinity, but can he use magic from other affinities (at the time of arc two)? You can make best use of the magic from your affinity, and your ability with other affinities will be lower, but is it alright to say that it’s not impossible to use them?
A: At the time of arc two, it would be impossible, you see. With training, he could do it. But, if it’s Subaru, even if he did learn it, he wouldn’t get further than ‘El’. I think ‘Ul’ would be reasonable once becomes able to use Shamac. He’d have to devote half his life to it, though.

Q: How are Subaru’s Sanity Points (note: Lovecraftian RPG reference)
A: The same as a normal person. However, he does have a certain tolerance in regards to witches.

Q: Otto-kun was able to use Al Dona and such after receiving mana from the forest, but could a normal person fire off massive spells like that just from being given mana? Or did the mysterious power of the forest teach him how to use it, or did something related to his Blessing of the Soul of Language allow him to understand how to do it?
A: It’s not so much that he received mana, as he was allowed to use the mana that had been allowed to build up. In short, the power of a spell changes based on the amount of mana you can use, so with sufficient mana, even Subaru could use Ul Shamac. He could have (past tense).

Q: Wilhelm was moving in superhuman ways while wielding his sword, is that done with magic or using magic power? If it’s not, could Subaru move like that if he trained with the sword for decades?
A: Warriors use the mana in their bodies to support them in combat, sort of like fighting spirit. It’s not done consciously, more like the mana responds to what they want to do. So, although Subaru could manage a certain level of it, he doesn’t love the sword enough to throw half his life into it, and he wasn’t blessed with sword talent, so it’s probably impossible. Wilhelm humbly says that he lacks any talent, but a person with no talent could not have defeated a Master Swordsman through effort alone. In this world, differences because of inborn talent are fairly severe.

Q: It’s one thing for Subaru’s Shamac work on a badly injured human-form Garfiel, but why would it work on beastform Garfiel?
A: It’s the opposite. It wouldn’t have worked on human-form Garfiel. Beastform Garfiel is so much dumber that it works. Not only is Garfiel a half-beast, he didn’t properly learn the beastform method from his parent, so when he goes beastform, he becomes stupid. Ram took advantage of that as well to beat him up.

Q: How effective is Reinhard’s boot camp? How much stronger are Ton, Chin, and Kan compared to themselves a year ago?
A: They’re now stronger than Subaru.

Q: Elsa was affected by even Subaru’s level of Shamac, but does that mean that Elsa has a weakness to magic? Julius said that there wasn’t a single member of the royal guard that would be affected by Subaru’s Shamac, so does that mean the royal guard has high magic resistance?
A: I’m afraid you won’t be satisfied with my answer, but Elsa is terribly weak against magic. Enough that she takes pains to have anti-magic strategies. Having said that, she really wasn’t fully affected by Subaru’s Shamac. She simply didn’t deliberately charge through where she couldn’t see what was ahead of her. The royal guard are fairly good at using magic, but Julius was expecting a little too much of the people around him. Julius is strict with himself and others.

Q: Elsa, who has enough power to go toe-to-toe with Garfiel, was outwitted by Subaru-kun in Arc 1, but wasn’t she just playing with him there? It looked like he was able to move around alright, so I really didn’t expect him to be in such bad shape afterwards.
A: She was playing around enough that he did manage to land a kick, wasn’t she. Elsa is similar to a saiyan in that as she faces stronger opponents, she becomes stronger herself, so when she was facing Subaru-kun, it turns out like that. (Note: ‘saiyan’ is a Dragonball reference.)

Q: Mr. Bete’s Unseen Hands versus Subaru’s Invisible Providence. Who wins?
A: It’ll be the Unseen Hands. There’s only one arm with Invisible Providence, and it’s range isn’t much different from Subaru’s real arms. Think of it as being not that different from having a third arm sprouting from his chest.

Q: Are Subaru’s ‘Invisible Providence’ and Betelgeuse’s ‘Unseen Hand’ the same thing? If they’re different, is there a reason they look similar?
A: They’re different, but there is a reason they look similar.

Q: Between Subaru and Ferris, which is stronger?
A: Subaru. Ferris' arms are flimsy.

On the other hand, fire mana can’t heal, or create large amounts of water like water mana can, you see. The part where they create ice pillars and attack with them is the same.

Q: What became of Ram’s severed horn?
A: A part of it became Ram’s favorite wand.

Q: Rem vs Ram, with both of them in peak condition, which one is stronger?
A: Rem. If you meant ‘with intact horns’, then Ram.

With her horn out, it's probably about right to say that Rem's fighting strength is about double what it is without the horn.

A: She's about the same as Rem. In other words, not that strong.

Q: Crusch's combat strength is about the same as who else?

A: Overwhelmingly Garf. A serious Frederica is about the same as Rem.

A: If they went at it without warning, Frederica would win. If you give them time to make various preparations in advance, Ram would come up with strategies for this and that, and she could turn it into a good fight. I don't feel like asking 'which is stronger' is that helpful.

A: That would be Rem.

A: Actually, Rem isn't that strong of an oni, you know. She only has one horn, so she's physically weaker than a normal oni. She does try to make up for it with magic and weaponry, though.

A: It's a pairing where, depending on the situation, it wouldn't be odd for either of them to win.

A: Beako or Enkidna are both able to with conditions attached. Normally it’s impossible though, even for Roswaal.

Q: I think that Shamac is a smokescreen-style magic, but why is Al Shamac able to interfere with other dimensions? What kind of relationship does it have with that spell name?
A: The “Shamac” line isn’t a smokescreen, it breaks the connection between the mind and body of targets in it’s radius. With Shamac, the body loses it’s perception. With El Shamac, the body becomes unable to be controlled. With Ul Shamac, the mind gets tossed out (literally: the mind gets German Suplexed). With Al Shamac, the body gets sent to another world along with it.

Q: Supposing that the mansion was safe and the forbidden library hadn’t burned, around how much of Beako’s magic power would have remained?
A: More than have of it should have been left.

Q: Similar to how Beatrice absorbs mana from Subaru, if she were to request other people to let her absorb their mana and stock up on it wouldn’t she be able to fight at full strength?
A: Due to Beatrice being contracted to Subaru, she cannot absorb from anyone except Subaru. Since she had absorbed mana from him in the forbidden library during her contract with the library when Subaru entered it, if someone were to enter inside Subaru she might be able to absorb from them.

Q: When Rem died at the mansion, if he'd fought with Beatrice how would that have turned out?
A: Inside the mansion, Beatrice would give him quite a good fight, but since Roswaal didn't intend to kill Beatrice, and once Subaru fled Beatrice stopped trying to buy time, it seems like the fight is undecided.

A: Depending on the conditions, Beako has a chance to win, but basically Puck wins, so I’m taking your appas. They’re my appas now...

In Lugunica, “Blue” is Ferris, “Red” and “Green” and “Yellow” are all held together by Roswaal. “Black” and “White” are absent. There’s currently no title for the strongest magic user, but it would be “Great Sorcerer”.

A: That's right. Basically, Echidna can use all the magic that exists in the world. For the most part, only Roswaal, who has all six magic affinities, could do that, but Echidna has the same level of power. She's the sole magic user who can do the same thing, that sort of feeling.

Q: In terms of fighting ability, Echidna is around whose level?
A: Around Roswaal.

Q: Is there any magic Echidna is able to use that the current Roswaal cannot? If so, what sort of magic is it?
A: There isn't.

The one speaking with Priscilla is a person known as Marcos Gildark, the captain of the royal guard. His strength is second in the kingdom, after Reinhard. In a regular fight, he's about as strong as Roswaal.

Q: Please tell me the strength ranking out of Wilhelm, Ricardo, Julius, Elsa, and Roswaal!
A: At short range it's Wilhelm, at long range it's Roswaal, in overall strength it's Julius, in tenacity it's Elsa, in vitality it's Ricardo, so out of these five, the victory changes depending on the conditions.

Q: If he had one-on-one fights with the archbishops, who could he beat? Is Petelgeuse an easy win?
A: In one-on-one fights with the archbishops, they're all specialized in 'Killing at First Sight', so not just Roswaal, but everyone would lose to them. Against the archbishops, no one besides 'Subaru' and 'Reinhard' can win without a serious difference in compatibility.

Q: If it's just hand-to-hand combat, who is stronger between he and Garfiel?
A: That'll be Garfiel. Overwhelmingly.

Q: When Rem died at the mansion, if he'd fought with Beatrice how would that have turned out?

A: No, they don't inherit it. He brings along his knowledge, so he rebuilds from step one. Despite that, so as to make it become easier, he's chosen his bloodlines to improve his aptitude.

A: I can't really follow the thinking of setting aside compatibility in combat (people with characteristic abilities include their characteristic ability when thinking about combat), but if they fought cleanly, all the archbishops except Regulus would be burned and ended. Of course, the archbishops aren't so reckless as to fight until they die against an opponent they can't defeat.

Q: Is there a magic that he had the most difficulty acquiring?
A: There's no affinity that he's not suitable for, so there's basically no magic that Roswaal had difficulty acquiring. It's just that, because he just can't manage to learn healing magic, so he struggled to learn it but was unable to do so...that sort of situation. He probably enjoyed teaching Rem, and seeing her learn it.

Q: How does the true strength of the first Roswaal compare with characters that have appeared so far?
A: It's around Emilia.

Q: Between the original Roswaal and the current Roswaal, which is stronger?
A: The current Roswaal is overwhelmingly stronger.

Q: If Garfiel and Roswaal fought to the death, who would win? With his blessing, would it be possible that Garfiel could endure Roswaal's chaotic attack, and have his recovery keep up?
A: If he's willing to go to any length, Roswaal can assassinate most opponents, so it depends on things like the distance and the conditions. If they start close enough to touch each other, then Garfiel will certainly kill him, but if he gives Roswaal a chance to start flying, it doesn't look good for him. With Garfiel's recovery methods, if he's hit by Roswaal's spells one after another, he'll be burnt to a crisp.

Q: Echidna is Roswaal's instructor in magic, but is there any magic or anything that the current Roswaal can't use?
A: No. The current Roswaal has reached Echidna's level.

A: Out of all the characters appearing, she's at the maximum. About the same as Roswaal.

Q: Julius’ Clarista was made up of six colors of magic, but is that something he came up with himself? Or is there a person or book that instructed him in six-color magic?
A: People who can use six colors are rare, but Clarista itself is not so much his own original work as his trump card. I think Roswaal would be able to do something similar, but it wouldn’t work the same way. He put it together in honor of the hero of his childhood fairy tales.

Q: What was the most troublesome thing that happened to Garf as a result of having the Blessing of the Earth Spirit?
A: Once he decided "I'll do squats until I'm all worn out!" and started it, he was fine for an entire week and wasn't able to stop. Otto finally prodded him into stopping. "Hey! There's limits to carrying out your original intention, you know!?"

Q: Garfiel was feeling down about being unable to scratch the Master Swordsman, but if he trains, does he have the makings of someone in the upper strength class?
A: Honestly, Garfiel is currently already in the upper strength class. At the very least, amongst the knights for the royal selection candidates, no one except Reinhard can beat him. Let's not use Reinhard as a basis for comparison. He's like a Disgaea character that came down into the Dragon Quest world.

Q: Around up to who could Elsa take head-on in a fight and win?
A: The difference in ability between her and Garfiel means that his victory is a matter of chance, so even out of the warrior characters, it's no mistake that she'd be in the upper ranks. She'd give a good fight to Old Wilhelm, wouldn't she?

Q: If Julius, Garfiel, Elsa, and Wilhelm-san lined up in order of their strength, how would it turn out?
A: That sort of depends on the specifics of the situation, so it's all pretty even.

Q: Garfiel has put all of his magic talent into recovery magic, but what degree of training does he have in that recovery magic...? I'd be very happy if you could tell me.
A: If we think of Felis as 50, Rem as 6, and Beatrice as 8, then Garfiel's healing magic is around 10. He's around the level that when Subaru had his belly cut open in arc one, he could have healed it without trouble.

Q: Garfiel has the blessing of the earth, but does this blessing have any downsides?
A: It's not something that comes up much in the world of Re: Zero, but underwater fights, mid-air fights, fights in the spirit world and such, his fighting strength would be significantly lower than normal. He always feels like the earth is solidly supporting him.

Q: They fought it out with Petelgeuse in the vicinity of the Roswaal manor, but if Garfiel (who was at Sanctuary) and Petelgeuse went at it seriously, which of them would win? If they'd know about Garfiel at that time, maybe they could have done something like leading Petelgeuse to Sanctuary.
A: He lose to Petelgeuse's 'Kill-on-sight' ability and die, just like normal. Or perhaps, he'd kill Petelgeuse who was possessing Subaru's body, and Petelgeuse would retreat from the battlefield, and Subaru dies but to Garfiel, it's a victory; something along those lines.

Q: Garfiel is able to beast-change, but he's unable to retain his ability to reason. Is it possible that, through training or something else, he could become able to retain his reason? I think if he could do that, he become incredibly strong. Please tell me not about a half beast-change, but the situation of a complete beast-change!
A: For Garfiel and other half-beastmen like him, the method of controlling their reasoning during a beast-change is something they learn from their parents in their childhood, but Garfiel jumped entirely past that process, so he's in the situation where he can barely control it. Incidentally, Frederica can control it perfectly, so even when beast-changed, she retains her reasoning. Clind prepared her.

Q: If Garfiel and Roswaal fought to the death, who would win? With his blessing, would it be possible that Garfiel could endure Roswaal's chaotic attack, and have his recovery keep up?

So, although Subaru could manage a certain level of it, he doesn’t love the sword enough to throw half his life into it, and he wasn’t blessed with sword talent, so it’s probably impossible. Wilhelm humbly says that he lacks any talent, but a person with no talent could not have defeated a Master Swordsman through effort alone. In this world, differences because of inborn talent are fairly severe.

A: It would work fairly well. You’d be countered by someone of Wilhelm’s caliber, but you could fight up to that point, I think.

A: That requires him to have had contact with the target's gate at least once, so if that condition is fulfilled then it's possible. However, Capella changes the shape of her gate at will, Ley and Roy change when they bring out the power of those they have eaten, nothing works on Regulus to begin with, so about all he could do is try it on Sirius as a suicide attack.

A: No, he couldn't draw it against Halibel.

A: If Reinhard had been serious, he could have blown everything away and wiped out Regulus' brides, but he doesn't do that sort of thing so it was said it would be a stalemate. If he'll use any means available to win, there's no one he can't beat, but it's not that kind of story, right?

Q: Reinhard has a massive number of blessings, but is there a limit to the number of blessings, and are there any blessings that there can't be two of? (Aside from the Blessing of Wind Avoidance)
A: There are several blessings that there can only be one of at a time. The "Blessing of the Master Swordsman" and such are that way. There's no upper limit to the number of blessings that Reinhard can have. Blessings are normally one per person, so the idea of establishing an upper limit never occurred.

If he draws his own sword, Reinhard can fight against Volcanica(The Dragon), and makes stalemate on Satella.

Q. Who can stay longest fighting Reinhard?
A. Witch of Envy and Regulus.

A: At that time the necessary Divine Blessing will triumph. But still, there’s no Divine Blessing for Non-Killing and Certain-Kill.

Q: Between Reinhard’s spirit gigolo when it’s at full throttle and Julius’ Divine Blessing of Enticing Spirit, which one will attract the spirits?
A: It’ll be a even match. “No way……! Even though I like that person, for my heart to waver like this……but why. When I close my eyes that person will appear……!” it’ll become like that in regards to both of them

Q: Even though Reinhard cannot use magic by himself, since mana and the minute spirits are his ally, can he become able to employ pseudo magic by using the spirits?
A: First of, since the ability from Reinhard to mobilize the minute spirits is dead, they wouldn’t be able to mutual understand one another. The minute spirits will try to cooperate by Reinhard’s gestures and minute spirits of all attributes will simultaneously become like “The one to give thanks to that person is me!” they will counterbalance each other and end up killing each other. Also, they will be absorbed when weakened. The minute spirits are like a moth to Reinhard who is like a flame, that’s their relationship.

A: They’re different, but there is a reason they look similar.

A: Yes, that’s right. He was originally a lesser spirit of earth.

Q: Julius has the Blessing of Gathering Spirits; how effective was this blessing on Betelgeuse? Mr. Betelgeuse is a spirit after all, so it should have had an effect. It seems like it might have made him really angry, though.
A: With lesser spirits and quasispirits, the effect is immediate, but when they’ve advanced to the status of spirit, it’s maybe not that effective. For someone like Betelgeuse, it would affect his faith, so yeah, he’d probably be very angry.

Q: I thought that Betelgeuse could only possess certain individuals, but I guess I was mistaken. If I wasn’t mistaken, is there a reason for it? Also, can he exist in a state where he’s not possessing anyone?
A: The only people Betelgeuse is able to possess are those who are suited to being possessed and controlled by him. A trained spirit arts user, or someone who is simply physically resilient. The method of checking is using the miasma of ‘Sloth’; someone who fails their sanity point check is no longer able to fight against Betelgeuse. Also, as Betelgeuse is an irregular spirit, he’s not able to exist in the state where he’s not possessing someone. If he could do that, he wouldn’t have done something like pursuing in a body that was nearly a corpse.

Q: Why didn’t Betelgeuse possess ‘Juli’, knowing he was a spirit arts user and nearby? It seems like possessing Juli would give him a better improvement in fighting strength.
A: He can’t jump into a spirit arts user that already has a contract. I thought I had written about this around the time of the battle against Betelgeuse, but if I forgot, sorry about that. As a result, if Subaru had a contract with Beako, Betelgeuse would have been completely powerless.

Q: Is Betelgeuse unable to possess someone with a blessing?

A: That's right. Basically, Echidna can use all the magic that exists in the world. For the most part, only Roswaal, who has all six magic affinities, could do that, but Echidna has the same level of power. She's the sole magic user who can do the same thing, that sort of feeling.

Q: During her life, what sort of place did Echidna live in?
A: She made a floating island just before the Great Waterfall and lived there.

A: Wrath actually doesn’t know any of the sin witches, aside from “The Witch of Jealousy”. You could say her compatibility with Carmilla is the worst possible. Her heart would be stolen at the first glance, she’d forget to breathe or move her heart, and if it went poorly, there’s a high chance she’d take everyone nearby with her.

A: Historically, users of healing magic that are stronger than Felis would be only Minerva, the "witch of Wrath". Felis can handle most any injury that isn't instantly fatal.

Q: If he lost his arms and legs, could he heal that?
A: If they were cut off, he could heal them, but, for example, if they were eaten by a mabeast, he couldn't heal that. He can't make things regrow. With Minerva's Authority, they'll regrow.

A: In the case where the wound expands, the influence of the ‘Reaper’ wound expands as well. If a fingertip was cut, and you think you can deal with that by cutting off the finger, at the moment the finger is cut off, the finger that was cut off becomes the target of the ‘Reaper’. Even cellular reproduction wouldn’t work, I’d guess.

A: The blessing was taken away in the middle of a battle. However, even without the Blessing of the Master Swordsman, Theresia is a monster.

Q: How does Thearesia's strength compare to Reinhard's?
A: She'd lose in one blow.

Q: If Thearesia had trained with the sword would she have gotten even stronger? Or had she reached the upper limit of strength the moment the Blessing of the Master Swordsman was bestowed?
A: In terms of sword skill, that's the upper limit of strength. However, the more one battles, the more one gains the thing called experience, so I think the "Ability to Respond" could be gained and change her actual strength. In a fight between the truly strong, that's what becomes the bottleneck. Reinhard is a separate matter.

Q: If Thearesia fought with Cecilus, who would win?
A: That's a very delicate question, isn't it. Thearesia has no experience with fighting with an equal and being pressured, so I think Thearesia would lose due to the difference in experience.

Q: If she'd been able to use her full power, would Thearesia have been able to defeat the White Whale?
A: Honestly, the White Whale can kill anyone the first time around, so it's one thing if she was operating alone, but with her attention being taken by trying to protect the members of the subjugation force from the fog, I think she probably couldn't win.

A: The Master Swordsmen aren’t the strongest, Reinhard is the strongest. Also, though it wasn’t a one-on-one fight, the witch was defeated by the first Master Swordsman.

Q: In a situation where Reinhard accompanied them to the tower of the dead, how much would the completion difficulty go down??
A: Reid would have gotten more into it, so the difficulty would rise.

A: Due to a problem of compatibility, his fight with Satella wouldn't end. Taking on Reid would be difficult, indeed. Since there's a high chance that the Dragon Sword Reid can't be drawn against Reid.

A: He's stronger than Shaula, and though it depends on the conditions, he's mosly stronger than Reid.

A: Yesterday, I gave the power rankings of the (top) five people among the current characters, however with the exception of Reinhard he can behead all of them.

Elsa
Q: Elsa was affected by even Subaru’s level of Shamac, but does that mean that Elsa has a weakness to magic? Julius said that there wasn’t a single member of the royal guard that would be affected by Subaru’s Shamac, so does that mean the royal guard has high magic resistance?
A: I’m afraid you won’t be satisfied with my answer, but Elsa is terribly weak against magic. Enough that she takes pains to have anti-magic strategies. Having said that, she really wasn’t fully affected by Subaru’s Shamac. She simply didn’t deliberately charge through where she couldn’t see what was ahead of her. The royal guard are fairly good at using magic, but Julius was expecting a little too much of the people around him. Julius is strict with himself and others.

Q: Elsa, who has enough power to go toe-to-toe with Garfiel, was outwitted by Subaru-kun in Arc 1, but wasn’t she just playing with him there? It looked like he was able to move around alright, so I really didn’t expect him to be in such bad shape afterwards.
A: She was playing around enough that he did manage to land a kick, wasn’t she. Elsa is similar to a saiyan in that as she faces stronger opponents, she becomes stronger herself, so when she was facing Subaru-kun, it turns out like that. (Note: ‘saiyan’ is a Dragonball reference.)

Q: Was Elsa’s last resort, the black and white knife, made from special materials or by special methods?
A: Uh, not really.

Q: Between Wilhelm and Miss Elsa, which is stronger?
A: If they went at it one-on-one, I think Wilhelm would win.

Q: Around up to who could Elsa take head-on in a fight and win?
A: The difference in ability between her and Garfiel means that his victory is a matter of chance, so even out of the warrior characters, it's no mistake that she'd be in the upper ranks. She'd give a good fight to Old Wilhelm, wouldn't she?

Q: When she was hit by Reinhard's attack at the loot house at the start, did she die and come back to life, or just barely not die?
A: That was probably fatal, wasn't it. Rather than say she probably died, it's more that she recovered from fatal wounds. There's no reason for her to have died and come back to life, after all. She just doesn't die.

Q: Elsa's cape that could defend against magic once, was that an off-the-shelf item with that effect? Or was it something with a buff from light magic or something like that?
A: That was a light magic buff, you see. That sort of thing would be based on theory established by Roswaal K. Mathers, and it's in a situation where it could be produced by an extremely limited number of craftsmen. Speaking just of arc one, it's possible that Roswaal gave it to her. In order to corner Emilia.

Q: Please tell me the strength ranking out of Wilhelm, Ricardo, Julius, Elsa, and Roswaal!
A: At short range it's Wilhelm, at long range it's Roswaal, in overall strength it's Julius, in tenacity it's Elsa, in vitality it's Ricardo, so out of these five, the victory changes depending on the conditions.

Q: If Julius, Garfiel, Elsa, and Wilhelm-san lined up in order of their strength, how would it turn out?
A: That sort of depends on the specifics of the situation, so it's all pretty even.

Demon Beasts
Q: If she'd been able to use her full power, would Thearesia have been able to defeat the White Whale?
A: Honestly, the White Whale can kill anyone the first time around, so it's one thing if she was operating alone, but with her attention being taken by trying to protect the members of the subjugation force from the fog, I think she probably couldn't win.

Q: Otto ran into the White Whale in an arc three loop, but does the Blessing of the Soul of Language work on monsters created by witches as well? It does seem like they’d say nothing but ‘I’m hungry’, though.
A: As a result of being able to hear even the White Whale’s voice, Otto went crazy, pushed Subaru away, and ran.

Q: If a pack of ulgarm, fought with Guiltylowe, which side would win?
A: It would be a dignified win for Guiltylowe.

Q: How did Batenkaitos make the white whale into a pet? Did he not make the rabbit into a pet?
A: The white whale follows Daphne’s witch gene. The rabbit too, to a certain extent, might follow.

Q: Daphne had the self-control to not eat all of the rabbits and whale. I’m shocked.
A: They’re her children, you see. What kind of parent would swallow their children whole? While she was in the process of properly eating just a bit at a time, the mabeasts managed to run away.

Q: I was thinking about it, but if a Great Rabbit was introduced into an area with a Black Snake, wouldn’t one side collapse the other? Do the mabeasts have some sort of territorial thing so they won’t intrude, or something like that? Or are they just accidentally in a position that they don’t interact with each other?
A: If that happened, it’s probably the Great Rabbit that would be wiped out. In terms of their power relationship, it’s Black Snake > White Whale > Great Rabbit, after all. It’s not so much that they don’t interact, as that the Black Snake isn’t very active. I think you’ll understand when the Black Snake makes an appearance.

Q: If the White Whale, Great Rabbit, and Black Snake were to fight, what order would they die in?
A: When it’s these three, it’s difficult to say; honestly, a lot depends on timing when saying which one lives and which one dies. Comparing just their fighting strength is pointless. The White Whale has the most fighting strength, the Great Rabbit is hardest to kill, and the Black Snake is the most troubling.

Q: It’s been said that mabeasts will follow the creature that breaks their horns, but would the White Whale and Great Rabbit (did they have horns?) follow the creature that breaks their horns?
A: The White Whale, Great Rabbit, and Black Snake, too, have already had their horns and hearts broken by Daphne.

Q: How much of the White Whale would be gone after one bite from Daphne?
A: One serious bite from Daphne would be all it would take.

Q: The White Whale’s mental contamination didn’t work on Rem, Subaru, Crusch, and Ferris; does it have a requirement, similar to Petelgeuse’s mental contamination? Or were they simply resistant to the effect?
A: It’s like the way some people can handle fingernails on a chalkboard, and some can’t.

Q: Are all the Great Rabbit’s horns broken?
A: If you break the horns on the first few, all of them that appear afterwards are hornless.

Q: The rabbits all gathered at the tomb; were all the small animals and insects in the forest eaten up? Or are humans their favorite food?
A: Most living things they met on the way were eaten, but they were aiming for Emilia and Roswaal, who are basically clumps of mana, so they moved in a direct course towards the tomb. The animals and bugs at other locations were hibernating.

Q: The ecology of the Great Rabbit? Many Rabbits? are so odd that I imagined them like the rabbit from Alice in Wonderland that walks on it’s hind legs, but do they walk on four legs or two?
A: It’s a cute, four-legged rabbit. It’s got a bit of a mouthful of sharp teeth, and if you think of a face like the little guy from the Drum Kingdom in One Piece, that’d be just right. About 80,000 of them will rush you at once.

Q: The White Whale reacted to Subaru’s stench; what would have happened if he’d used it against the Great Rabbit? If it worked well, would it be possible to guide the Great Rabbit?
A: It wouldn’t make much difference. When the rabbit has a moving creature before it’s eyes, it’s time to eat.

Q: Do the snake’s diseases combine in any number of ways?
A: It can cause petrification and rotting away, and it leaves behind viruses in the land as it moves.

Marcos
Q: About how strong is Marcos?
A: Stronger than Julius.

The one speaking with Priscilla is a person known as Marcos Gildark, the captain of the royal guard. His strength is second in the kingdom, after Reinhard. In a regular fight, he's about as strong as Roswaal.

Q: Among the knights, around how strong is Julius?
A: He's third. First is Reinhard, second is Marcos.

Cecilus
Q: In a comparison purely of swordsmanship, which of Wilhelm in his prime and Cecilus would be stronger?
A: I'd like to say that they'd be evenly matched. Since Cecilus is really strong.

Q: Like Cecilus, Wilhelm-san is a person who gave everything to the sword, but it feels like Cecilus is stronger. If Wilhelm-san didn't have Thearesia-san, would he have turned out about as strong as he did? Or was he about the same strength back in his prime? Is Cecilus only strong because of his magic sword?
A: They only differ in the way they became strong, and if Wilhelm hadn't met Thearesia he'd die partway through the civil war, so that would be the end of his path. The current route where Wilhelm met Thearesia is the one where he's strongest. There's no particular reason why Cecilus is strong. It's the sort of reasoning where tigers are strong because they're tigers.

Q: If Thearesia fought with Cecilus, who would win?
A: That's a very delicate question, isn't it. Thearesia has no experience with fighting with an equal and being pressured, so I think Thearesia would lose due to the difference in experience.

Q: Between Thearesia and Segmunt, who is stronger?
A: The white side will win. Sorry, it's not white. The blue side. Cecilus Segmunt wins.

Q: Otto-kun was able to use Al Dona and such after receiving mana from the forest, but could a normal person fire off massive spells like that just from being given mana? Or did the mysterious power of the forest teach him how to use it, or did something related to his Blessing of the Soul of Language allow him to understand how to do it?
A: It’s not so much that he received mana, as he was allowed to use the mana that had been allowed to build up. In short, the power of a spell changes based on the amount of mana you can use, so with sufficient mana, even Subaru could use Ul Shamac. He could have (past tense).

Q: Wilhelm was moving in superhuman ways while wielding his sword, is that done with magic or using magic power? If it’s not, could Subaru move like that if he trained with the sword for decades?
A: Warriors use the mana in their bodies to support them in combat, sort of like fighting spirit. It’s not done consciously, more like the mana responds to what they want to do. So, although Subaru could manage a certain level of it, he doesn’t love the sword enough to throw half his life into it, and he wasn’t blessed with sword talent, so it’s probably impossible. Wilhelm humbly says that he lacks any talent, but a person with no talent could not have defeated a Master Swordsman through effort alone. In this world, differences because of inborn talent are fairly severe.

Q: The Master Swordsman is the person with the strongest sword, right? Does the person with the strongest magic have a title of some kind?
A: A color appropriate to the affinity is bestowed as a title on those who reach the pinnacle of a particular affinity. In Lugunica, “Blue” is Ferris, “Red” and “Green” and “Yellow” are all held together by Roswaal. “Black” and “White” are absent. There’s currently no title for the strongest magic user, but it would be “Great Sorcerer”.

Q: Is there teleportation magic? (Excluding the mysterious powers of the apostles of the Deadly Sins)
A: Beako or Enkidna are both able to with conditions attached. Normally it’s impossible though, even for Roswaal.

Q: I think that Shamac is a smokescreen-style magic, but why is Al Shamac able to interfere with other dimensions? What kind of relationship does it have with that spell name?
A: The “Shamac” line isn’t a smokescreen, it breaks the connection between the mind and body of targets in it’s radius. With Shamac, the body loses it’s perception. With El Shamac, the body becomes unable to be controlled. With Ul Shamac, the mind gets tossed out (literally: the mind gets German Suplexed). With Al Shamac, the body gets sent to another world along with it.

Q: In ice magic, there’s both use of fire mana like Puck, and use of water mana like Rem, but are there differences according to the affinity?
A: Rem’s water mana is able to create ice pillars and attack with them, but it can’t freeze an opponent or object like Puck’s fire mana. On the other hand, fire mana can’t heal, or create large amounts of water like water mana can, you see. The part where they create ice pillars and attack with them is the same.

Q: If you thoroughly researched magic to manipulate time and control space, what level could you use it at?
A: “Come back the day before yesterday” -> “I’m here” would be possible.

Q: The spirit Puck’s activity is limited to the daytime, but is there a limit to the activity of Julius’ quasi-spirits or normal spirits?
A: There is, but in their case, there’s usually no reason to keep them in a physical form to their limit, so when there’s no need for them, they’re in hiding. Puck’s poor fuel economy is a problem, too, but part of that was keeping Emilia from being aware of how far above average her mana capacity is.

Q: It was quite a while ago, but you stated that a ‘Blessing of Avoidance’ and a ‘Blessing of Always Striking’ would cancel each other out; does a blessing that would cancel out the ‘Blessing of the Reaper’ exist?
A: Basically, it doesn’t exist. Minerva-tan might have one chance, and even Ferris wouldn’t be able to touch it.

Q: So the ‘Blessing of the Reaper’ makes it so wounds won’t heal, then. For example, setting aside the question of it being possible or not, neither cellular regeneration nor cellular reproduction will close the wound, then? Patch it up. Then, if it’s an arm or leg affected by the ‘Blessing of the Reaper’, cut it off and overwrite the wound, and then regenerate the whole limb, including the muscle and bone that was cut off.
A: In the case where the wound expands, the influence of the ‘Reaper’ wound expands as well. If a fingertip was cut, and you think you can deal with that by cutting off the finger, at the moment the finger is cut off, the finger that was cut off becomes the target of the ‘Reaper’. Even cellular reproduction wouldn’t work, I’d guess.

Q: Julius has the Blessing of Gathering Spirits; how effective was this blessing on Betelgeuse? Mr. Betelgeuse is a spirit after all, so it should have had an effect. It seems like it might have made him really angry, though.
A: With lesser spirits and quasispirits, the effect is immediate, but when they’ve advanced to the status of spirit, it’s maybe not that effective. For someone like Betelgeuse, it would affect his faith, so yeah, he’d probably be very angry.

Q: Does Julius still have his blessing?
A: It’s the ‘Blessing of Gathering Spirits’, and the existence of a blessing isn’t related to the state of your memory, so it’s still working properly even now. If not for that, his buds would have departed long ago.

Q: How does healing magic operate?
A: Basically, it's 'water' affinity magic, and I use the mental image of it strengthening the subject's self-healing ability. The impression is that it uses magic to compensate for the necessary energy and time for healing. Hence, it's the sort of thing where it's difficult to heal injuries that wouldn't heal on their own. 'Maybe'.

Q: Are Elsa's cape and the throne that Subaru was sitting on in Oboreru put together the same way?
A: Perhaps it's alright to say the way they're put together is similar. Having said that, the throne is a genuine 'Metia', so the area it protects and what it targets are different than the cape. The cape is limited to magic, but the throne defended against Reinhard's sword attack, right? The room wasn't blown away either, so the throne's effectiveness is much higher.

Julius has, under his own power, reached the limit of his skill in the sword, so he wouldn't become any stronger than he is now.
