  1. I am a Canadian. Now, as I might not use that term to describe myself as a quality, it ’s definitely an attribute. My family migrated here just a few years before I was born from the UK
  2. and it was definitely a change. Since Canada isn’t a very old country, important events like the Klondike Gold Rush or the founding of the Hudson’s Bay Company helped lure people from around the world to create such a diverse community of different nationalities and backgrounds.

  4. Being Canadian is something that the globe looks up to. People around the world perceive the nation as a cold sheet of ice that exhibits a ton of kind people that talk ‘funny.’ However, like most people, I don’t think the Canadian identity is something that can be defined. Canada is a location, and this might be going out on a wonky limb but I believe that no nation can be described as a whole. There are definitely stereotypes and similarities that the people of each nation can have in common, but never can the whole nation’s population be described under one topic, except for the location that they live in. Saying ‘I am Canadian’ is merely just a sentence with an attribute that tells people where you live. Sure, we are all respectful of the same holidays, traditions and customs (like remembrance day and the first nations) but we are forced to because that’s the way we’ve learned to respect the history of where we live.

  7. We’ve got funny misconceptions about our country. We’re not all healthy, we’re not all trying to save global warming, and definitely, there are some not so nice people. We try our best to be some of the most patriotic people on the planet but everyone is persistent in keeping their past heritage. Maybe that’s why we have such an assortment of different food places. In any city, you might have a shawarma place from Syria and right next to it, a jerk chicken place from Jamaica.

  10. Being in Canada has major perks. We’ve all grown up to appreciate and respect every religion and race and ethnicity because most of the people that live here all come from different backgrounds. It seems there are no more whites than Asians or blacks or Hispanics. We’re all equal. We live in a country where the ambience of the environment is so beautiful that most of us will work to preserve and care for it. We have four well defined seasons, two main oceanic coasts where three of the largest and furthest continents can easily access and import/export goods, and an absolute buffet of different biomes. From geographical characteristics to the idea of justice and equality, Canada is a gem that not many countries can relate to elsewhere in the world.
