  1. If you want to stay secure online, here's a few ways to secure your identity.
  2.
  3. //TIPS
  4. 1. Do not post your personal information on social media.
  5. Q: Why?
  6. A: Social media is hands down the easiest, fastest and most efficient way to find out personal information.
  7. TIP: Make all your social media accounts private.
  8. BENEFITS: Shitty hackers won't be able to see your private info nor employers.
  9.
  10. 2. Do not enable "Save Password" via internet browsers. With simple browser/code configuarion, I can reveal a password in less than 7 seconds (I timed it).
  11.
  12. 3. Use a secure internet password saver that has AES-256 encryption.
  13. Q: Why?
  14. A: AES-256 is the hardest encryption there is. I personally use Dashlane, which has won many awards for its security.
  15.
  16. 4. Use VirusTotal to scan websites for viruses before you click the URL.
  17.
  18. 5. If a link looks suspicious, trust your gut and don't click it.
  19.
  20. 6. Trust websites with your credit card that shows https (IE: https://www.duckduckgo.com)
  21.
  22. //TOOLS
  23.
  24. 1. Use a VPN (Virtual Private Network). I prefer buying a VPN if you plan on just wanting to browse the internet in a secure environment. I Use IPVanish. They do not keep logs. (Your searches, websites visited, downloads) so no one can see your files and metadata.
  25.
  26. 2. Instead of using Google (which tracks all your searches, metadata, websites visited), utilize DuckDuckGo, which is another search engine, except DDG doesn't track your searches, stops ads from tracking you and more.
  27.
  28. However, you may need to enhance your searching abilities to receive the results you desire as if you were on Google.
  29.
  30. 3. Your MIND. In order to stay more secure online, pay attention to simple tactics such as inspecting an email address that has sent you an email.
  31.
  32. Many hackers will try their best to make their tactic of cloning the website support email address look as close as possible to the REAL email support address. (IE: support@gmail.com ..... fake email: supp0rt@gmail.com)
  33.
  34. So make sure you inspect the email address before you click on any image file, 'download' button, etc.
