  1. RSW wants your disassembly data!
  2.
  3. Training Invention? You're probably disassembling a lot of stuff. Please, take a minute to record your data and submit it to the wiki so that we can analyse it and generate many calculators and finalise our understanding of disassembly.
  4.
  5. **TL;DR of what to do:**
  6.
  7. 1. Record relevant material counts before starting (use analyse to check which to record - ideally include junk, but it doesn't matter too much if you don't; also include special materials if the item gives them)
  8. 2. Disassemble all of your items
  9. 3. Record material counts after finishing
  10. 4. Find the difference and submit it using the form [here](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1Z4G94uhl4FUyju87naqztWsYlzgzM-G8E6dP78GWZZI/viewform#start=invite)
  11.
  12. If you have bulk data, send me a link to a google doc spreadsheet or a pastebin txt or whatever.
  13.
  14. ##Details
  15. Items fall into disassembly categories, which defines what materials they can possibly give (with subcategories determining number of materials per item, and an internal level determining junk chance). Within each category, once you remove junk, the distribution of the materials is the same. For example, logs are 99% simple parts and 1% living components - you'd expect 99 simple parts to every 1 living component, but the amount of junk you'd have from getting those 100 materials varies with the log (from almost 100x as much with basic logs to almost no junk with elder logs).
  16.
  17. Our goal is to find that material distribution for each disassembly category.
  18.
  19. The higher your junk reduction is, the better: we'll get more actual data out of a sample (unless that item never gives junk at all).
  20.
  21. *(For more information on how disassembly works, see [Disassemble](http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Disassemble))*
  22.
  23. ###Use
  24. Once we have distributions for each category, we can properly implement calculators for component prices - e.g. what's the cheapest powerful component source?
  25.
  26. You can see some half-complete calculators [here](http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Calculator:Disassembly_by_material), e.g. [powerful](http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Calculator:Disassembly_by_material/Powerful), but there's a lot missing. I generally want at least 15,000 materials before analysis and implementation.
  27.
  28. ###Submission
  29. As the TL;DR above says, recording data is fairly simple - note down material counts before and after disassembly, find the difference, and [submit using the form](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1Z4G94uhl4FUyju87naqztWsYlzgzM-G8E6dP78GWZZI/viewform#start=invite).
  30.
  31. If you haven't recorded junk, don't worry - this is mostly just a sanity check. Just leave a note in the 'any other feedback' section that you didn't record junk so I know.
  32.
  33. If you're disassembling a lot of items, I can see repeatedly using the form becoming annoying. I would suggest recording your data into a spreadsheet or txt, then sending me a link to the google doc or pastebin. I can then manually add them to the [responses sheet](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1JPs-_rHmC3eWFWvwx7yVZ-tyaSwGQdpTeI-vTUDDDkk/edit?usp=sharing). I know many people already do record their disassembly, so I'd welcome your data submissions!
  34.
  35. ###Augmented items
  36. If you happened to log your augmented item disassembles, let me know what level they were when disassembled. I'm going to assume 9 or 10, but just to be sure.
  37.
  38. ##Priority categories
  39. There's 54 disassembly categories, and some are more important for us to get earlier than others - ones that give high demand materials for augmentors, rod-o-matics, and gizmos/perks. There's a full list on the [details page](http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/User:Gaz_Lloyd/Disassembly#Priorities), but here's a few commonly disassembled things that we want (links to calculators at the top of each list):
  40.
  41. * [Potions](http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Disassemble_category/potions)
  42. * [Summoning pouches](http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Disassemble_category/pouches) and [scrolls](http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Disassemble_category/scrolls)
  43. * [Bones](http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Disassemble_category/bones)
  44. * [Melee](http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Disassemble_category/melee_armour) and [magic armour](http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Disassemble_category/magic_armour)
  45. * [Throwing knives](http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Disassemble_category/knives), [axes](http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Disassemble_category/throwing_axes), and [darts](http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Disassemble_category/darts)
  46.
  47. ### Special materials
  48. There's a lot of items which only sometimes give special materials. I am very interested in getting data on these, so if you are disassembling those, please do submit.
  49.
  50. The main problem with these are that they are often prohibitively expensive, and/or low supply/buy limit. Things like godsword hilts, barrows items, mjolnirs, crystal items, GWD2 essences and crests, etc. If you have money to burn...
  51.
